Hmmm, think you're wrong there mate. 1070s work fine, any AMD card with at least 8Gb works fine too. My 470 8Gb get around 1.5Gbs if I recall, which isn't bad and only half of a 1070ti.

with just 30H/s (that would be 3x 1070tis, 8 RX470 8gb and 3 Vegas) it would yield me 11$ a day. I'd make 11$ a day if I launched my 8 Rigs on XHV/Tube/Graft atm. So it is actually worth it.

On my rigs, grin actually uses less power than cryptonote which is a good thing.

The only problem is that you will need 8Gb + cards if you are on windows 10, 4Gb and 6Gb cards don't work. I've read you can get the 6Gb cards to work if you revert to Windows 7. The issue being that on Windows 10, the OS reserves part of the GPUs memory, and Grin needs as much of the memory free as possible.

You can get 4Gb and up cards to work on Linux with minerbabe distro it seems, haven't had time to try it yet.

Miner support isn't really great on Grin atm if I'm honest.

I think that I've read somewhere that Grin is inflationary coin, with infinite supply.
If it's so, it may not be a great investment (see Dogecoin, for example).

On the other hand, since it's a project with so much support, it is nice to be part of it.

I have heard a lot about Grin too and the technology behind it and I think it is good. If you had asked me about coins to watch out for, I'd put Grin at the top. But if you are looking for an explicit yes or no answer to your mining question, well we all know how crypto space sways - lambo today, rekt tomorrow, and lambo again Cheesy
