I think same happen as august segwit,   with bitcoin cash 's price $1000 first exchange and now bitcoin cash just  $300 .

The bitcoin price always rising up  every fork , next time with show up bitcoin gold not exception.

  Hold bitcoin is only option.

Great time to buy at the moment, but you have to pick good coins as those are more likely to recover first once the flood gates are opened (or you can pick some random pump and dump coins and hope to get lucky Tongue)

I assume you try to buy into good projects, that you have some kind of faith in.
You buy them because you think they will be a good investment.

A good project will still be a good project whether btc forks or not, why would you sell?

Agreed. If you do not like the investment idea behind an altcoin, you should not invest in the first place.

Take a step back and consider if the fork will really impact your altcoin's valuation, and even if so, how long will it be affected? Bearing in mind that many coins have bounced back well after an initial setback.

If the fork is came in Nov the price will affected but it depend if BTC only is dump , how long will affected by the hard on Nov it cause the price to down. Or it will guide to pump twice as the normal price. But will sell my altcoin if the price is stable.

Hi guys,

If you got profits already then that is fine, if you have losses and bought during the altcoin bubble of this year then you need to hold, I know that is difficult to look at bitcoin and not have enough of it but you are only going to confirm your losses by selling so if I were I would not sell until I got profits, sometimes you are going to be on the right side of the market and sometimes you are going to be in the wrong side we just need to deal with it.

The coming fork at the end of this month is definitely the main factor that pushes the price of bitcoin. Bitcoin holders should be happy, but many people who hold and invested in altcoins are panicly selling their altcoins for bitcoins to be prepared for Bitcoin Gold and Segwit2x.
The fact is, in some cases, users sell altcoins, despite the fact that some of them are extremely undervalued, and in a couple of days to buy them back at a reduced rate. That is, at the moment, the rising price of Bitcoin prevents the growth of altcoins.

There will be a lot of people selling their alts in order to get the most of the bitcoin gold fork so it might be the best time to buy those alts that you were holding off on so when people get their gold and dump it and come back to their alts you can make a little bit of profit, maybe,
But I doubt this scenario will be failure, you must to know most of the traders have experience from Bitcoin Cash also know the event airdrop from Bitcoin only a trap to make us sell our altcoin, only newbie are traders can not know that. Therefore, maybe, we have not much traders want to sell their altcoin to buy more Bitcoin.

It all depends on your emotion. It is two way scenario, that is either the coin will dump or pump. The last forking of BTC by 2nd August 2017 saw a pumping up movement of BTC. This time around nobody knows the direction of  movement after  the forking. So keep what you can afford to lose.

Only if you're making profits. Don't sell at a loss. Too late now though

I am having another strategy. Short btc and wait for the fork. Worst case scenario I lose half of the profits made so far.

That is what everybody is using as a strategy! It has to fail.

Do the opposite to make a LOT. But ALTS now while they are cheap. I don't think GOLD will come to anything.

Those are selling their altcoin before the hardfork to buy back again at the fork will be happening, i meant just like I sold all of my coins and just waiting for another chance to buy back again at the low price.
So, the simple reason to aim the decent profit through sold of all my coin before the fork of the bitcoin and ethereum will have happened.

This just like a trading method to join in the bottom and left from the top.

why would you sell it? if it is a good project it will be a good project. The thing is, people who were selling it, to get ahold of as much bitcoin as possible, will (most likely) sell some of the forked bitcoin gold and buy back the altcoins from those good projects, for less money (because most of them are on a downfall) and the prices will go up again. so no, don't give up

I think there's no reason to hold shitcoins. The sooner you sell it the better
but if you have a project that you trust, it would be better to sell it after 25 October
Why not? Sometimes, the price of shitcoins will increase a lot of value while other altcoins decrease on the market. Example as now, we have see a MLM coin is REGA has pumped 100% its value in 24 hours, so if you can bought it in the past, you had have profits today Cheesy
