I dont think to sell any altcoin now.because after hard fork of btc altcoin pump.its best time to buy altcoin
WHy would I do that, something like this happened last year when Ethereum and Altcoins were dumping rely hard, regret not buying Ether at $5 that is 60X return in a year, there is no where you can get a return like this

Altcoins are slowly decreasing in value, and this habit might continue until the fork ends. IMO, I think it will be wise to sell your altcoins now and buy again a day before the fork, by doing that, you will be able to make so much profit since you will be buying when its low and selling when its high.in your opinion, it's time to buy or sell this sh*tcoins?
I don't think its wise to sell your altcoins so that you will be able to claim free bitcoin gold, rather hold on to your alts or even buy more if you can so that you can start making profit once the values begin recovering.

If someone believe that altcoin does not have good future or from long time its value is just stable and not rising then its better to get it converted to bitcoin and hold it before the fork happens so that you can participate in getting the other coin. Hope the coin value rises after the event.
Not a bad strategy to move your coins into the coin about to be forked, it's free coins and I'm sure a lot of people did that with Bitcoincash. Sounds like an easy way to possibly even double your money if you play it right. Good question.
Depending on the coins you are holding, if there is no major update that is going to be release then for awhile you can sell it for bitcoin
so you will be able to benefit the fork. I am also planning to sell some of my alts because I want to own Bitcoin Gold and I am just waiting for the right timing since most of my alts are down currently.

I assume you try to buy into good projects, that you have some kind of faith in.

Agree with your point. There is no point selling the coin of projects we believe in, I guess patience is the key here. And altcoins might not be down this time, I see most coins in green today.

Nobody know what will be the outcome of the fork even bitcoin gold team can not tell you expressly that nothing would go wrong. Albeit, I will advice you not to sell your value alt for passing fork or, you might regret it!
Money is already flowing back into some altcoins, and i think this trend will continue for some time now (atleast until the weekend). Still a good time to buy into your favorite cryptos and reap the benefits 
Its noobness to sell alt coin for loss just to get the Bitcoin gold which is fork of BTC. I think better wait and watch. Only see those which you can buy back at same price else you will regret if coin moons! 
Why do you have to sell it if it is a good coin? The value of coin is dependent on bitcoin but there is a lot of coin when the bitcoin decreases and its value increases. Why sell it? I think this before the fork if you are holding some coin then you should store them through the tie because now most of the coin current is lower than the original price because people are holding the bit get new bitcoin copper but the field at the drop then it will probably increase so do not worry too much for this. And you are storing bitcoin, I recommend you use one third of your account to buy the coin at a very cheap price after the fork will be a pretty big deal.
Follow the hype or don't follow the hype. Do your own research and make a decision.

Depends, since I have some btc left. Not too much but still enough and getting hard to decide what alt to sell I'll hold, but others were selling their alts to buy btc to have some freebies on fork.

No you should hoard it except for those altcoins that looks like scrap or no progress for how many months in which mostly more than beyond 100 in rank but for those top 10 you should hoard them and wait. Bitcoin had experienced lot of crisis including this one before so altcoins should follow the path then lets just wait and see.
big potentials to bounce back its all about timing and knowing which coins are really progressing and have a positive growth together with btc.

I wouldn’t sell. I would buy cheap altcoins instead because you can find some great bargains at the moment. When the market rebounds after the fork, you could make more money than if you bought bitcoin, which is at an ath now, another reason not to buy it.
