yeah I use the lower diff  even with 20 sticks running. I set it at 64

oh hash is up

on nicehash

 F #654518   0.0085   5.00   10   3.2202

Thanks for your month of extra hashing.  Defintally goes above and beyond.  And is very nice of you to do.

Is there a magic number per stick that we should be setting difficulty to?

no  but think 7- 16 per stick

you don't want ck to auto start the diff at 1k  diff   it takes 20-50 minutes to adjust.

so 7 to 16 per stick will show shares faster

I didn't get share for nearly a day so the problem is most likely way beyond the stick. Regardless, it doesn't change anything overall but i tried the --suggest-diff variable, really cool i didn't know that existed. ck.solo started with my suggestion.

For the volt/clock, i set the clock to 175mhz and i didn't even set a volt setting. If someone has a recommendation i'm all hear, i tend to always start with a single HW.

try at 125mhz then 150mhz

I confirm the --suggest-diff 7 is working !

add that to your command line. You should see accepted share really quick or HW

Glad that bit worked for you guys Smiley.  That is what I hope comes out of this club is sharing off information and having fun.

There really is benefits to us having so many compac users in one place.

I get a HW at start and then no more HW. So i don't see a point in lowering or changing volt. I'm not sure why that HW error happen but i have other ASIC that does that. Start with a HW and then no more HW.

I'm trying to figure out whats wrong with my stick, it was working yesterday.

{"hashrate1m": "0", "hashrate5m": "0", "hashrate1hr": "0", "hashrate1d": "0", "lastupdate": 1443529090, "bestshare": 1784472.3383183172}

Edit: Well i just rebooted the computer and re plugged the stick and now after quite a while i got a share. But weird. I'll definitively blame this one on W8. Not a single share overnight? Wtf.

I think everyone has had lot's of trouble with W8 also.

Just a thought, is W8 turning the port off in power management?

EDIT: forgot, if it turned the port off, the stick would probably show zombie.

Hmm not really, but i had another problem, W8 just lost networking, maybe the computer froze, it would not be surprising considering i'm mining with 5 GPU on it. I've downclocked the GPUs a little bit now maybe it will help.

Maybe there was some GPU mining conflicting with the other ASIC mining instance? Hell if i know, i never had this problem when i was doing this on W7.

First the Diff is 1K, it will take a few minutes to send 1000 shares at 9 GH/s.
Two, you have an hardware error. So your voltage is not correctly set. Meaning you probably lost your first 1000 share meaning no hash on the pool side.

I suggests that you use another pool that you can set the diff to 9 and debug it that way (adjust the voltage a bit)

He should not need to use another pool.  This entire thread is people who are mining compacs to that pool so we know it works Smiley.

If you need to change difficulty I believe you can do it with cgminer using: --suggest-diff number here

It was just for the debugging purpose ;-)

Those the pool support it ? If yes, let me know. I will set it for my stick

Thanks

It appears to be working for me with our current solo pool.  You put the difficulty after that command.

Checked my PI to see if it was working and appears to have set it with cgminer.  Please someone pipe in if it does not work for them.

If you really want to push them you need a Y cable or something to allow power from 2 USB ports.  Unless you are getting a ton of power through 1 port somehow.

With Y cable I am able to get 16gh out of a stick.  I need some time to built something to hold my usb stick nicely in front of a fan to cool it as it get's warm at 16gh.

Which ones did you order Herb?
I am returning the ones I bought because I neglected to read the fine print and the end which goes to the stickminer is a 'B' connector. Tis what I get for drinking and mining.

By the way, does anyone know why my name doesn't have a hash number beside it in Phil's list? It has a U and he said he sees all members are hashing, but no amount listed for me yet.

Edit, what are people's best share number?
I have 8.9M at the moment after about 24 hours of having two sticks mining without touching them. I touched them too much yesterday morning.

Yes, that's what I was looking for, some thing to hold it in place for easier cooling.

Came up with this, still got to wait for a couple to show up to see if they will work or not. If they work, it will be a fixed in place setup (with the port) and will still have a short cable for the extra power from a second port.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12544138

As for best share, right now cgminer is showing 197M on a Pi running just the compac's. Plus, to top it off, already got about 4 or 5 payouts with the sticks, the payouts are all together with other worker's on kano's pool, and I haven't tried (or thought of trying) to figure out the amount of dust the sticks have got.

and as for real world it would take 3 or 4 long sloopy posts to explain how a 2 day garage cleanup has turned into about a 20 day job. now involving the attic, 2 sheds, the kitchen, a crawl space and yeah thats  right the garage.

No problems at all Mr. Phil. I wanted to make sure I was in line. U is good with me.

That is too funny Phil.  Sometimes when I see that you've posted sloop I'll grab a couple beer right off the bat.  Normally I've got it all sorted out by the bottom of the second one  Cheesy

got lazy u = up  and for the first 30 days up gets a share.

Typing in the numbers is too much work.

I now just click every worker and do nothing unless you show 0.

The bots keep better track.  I would spend more time with just this thread.

But I need to ship an s-7
Ship some surprise boxes
fully read the bots setup and set it up
manage my diff thread.
setup linux debian on a rasp pi
upgrade 2 mac minis
