To be honest i throw all my money into mining rigs.
Since euro is lost and savings are punished here..the best way is to invest into something better tHan fiat :-)
Agree. Just started mining 1 month ago. Earning is not a big deal but I can setup second rig in about 6/7 months.Which suits me allright.

not sure if all this will keep for 6-7 months, everything is crashing now, if it was not for bitcoin high price it would be unprofitable already

For the ZCash mining, if you use the 7970 or older cards, and the electricity price is over 0.2 dollar/kWh, it is not profitable.

I am at the other side of the world, in south america, and i am thinking the same thing!.
totally agree... maybe not good for some regions but here, even at the ridiculous cost of the hardware, it worth it.

zawawa doesn't own nvidia card(his words). So optimization should be expected on his AMD work by krnlx and possibly Genoil.

I am ready, but still no sources  Sad

I thought the work on v6 was almost done! ... not to rush or push, but with what is going on with Claymore & Optiminer's miners ... many are awaiting the new release Smiley))))

THE OPTIMINER DEVELOPER STOPPED RELEASING HIS MINER--

His thread is still open on BitCoinTalk, but official releases are no longer posted for download.  What is happening with Claymore?  I guess I will check out his thread.  I stopped reading it when I started usining Optiminer (linux/AMD).        --scryptr

Stop it just let it be.
Here is not the place to discuss whether NVIDIA or AMD is better nor AMD is better than NVIDIA. Move along and shut down this senseless flamewar.

Obvious Nvidia fanboy, ignoring reality.  Sure, your 1060s that cost $250 can hash SLOWER than a 470, which costs $175.  You may never make up your extra $75 because it hashes slower, therefore you are losing potential money. Your point on 1070 vs 2 480s is sad joke for sure.  Why would anyone in their right mind miss out on hundreds or thousands of extra dollars, just to pinch a few pennies for power?  Your resale argument is incorrect.  Resale of 480 won't be nearly as terrible as you say, AMD holds value due to mining popularity, but of course you are a fanboy, so you ignore this. And again, you ignore this thing called opportunity cost. You also missed out on the first month of lucrative mining, all the while whining about people not making fast miners for 10% of the miners. Ever wonder why no one cares to make good Nvidia miner? it is because miners do not buy Nvidia for profit, they buy it for epeen.

they cost the same here 220 euro, and they hash the same, 165 sol vs 170 sol, so dunno why you are still there saying otherwise

but nvidia is more efficient at 70 watt vs 90 watt for a 470

resale value for 4GB version is  joke, gamers want 6GB nowadays, and 480 8gb is the only choice for them but not for miners
Ok...I'm getting a bit angry with this argue so let me explain some stuff around here.
1. NVidia will never catch AMD in regard of OpenCL implementation and therefore creating decent miner based on OpenCL will always be AMD priority.
2. AMD will never implement CUDA(a bit stupid to mention but anyway...) therefore cuda optimized miners will outperform OpenCL ones.

Most of coders prefer OpenCL over CUDA because of large amount of documentation and information.
Regarding prices NVIDIA is more expensive of course, that's no delusion but also uses low power also no delusion.
If you don't care about power consumption and heat and need to start mining ASAP - use AMD.
If you care much about power and prefer slow start - use NVIDIA.
Also...nvidia could be used for other stuff besides gaming. If some of you are willing to give up Nvidia and switch to AMD I am swapping RX 480 for 1070 ( no kiddin ).
