Ofc I couldnt know for sure. Where did I say that the name was the what only made me suspect? Read what I wrote about the downtime, it's in this post. If you can't find it CTRL+F downtime - if a site like BMR which had been around for a long time couldn't get it to stay up after weeks, ney months how could this puny little site handle it? There will never be actual evidence untill it happens in cases like these so uhm...

Let's turn it around, how come I was right? Just dumb luck? And keep in mind that I am not only talking about the name of the site.

Yeah, it's called coincidence. If I have a guess and say SR2 was set up by the FBI based on nothing but my own opinion and/or a hunch and it turns out to be true what will that mean? I'm a genius detective or a lucky guess?
Seems I've been having a lot of lucky guesses lately. But neither one of us can know for sure, so time will tell.

Have you tried guessing the lottery numbers then? Grin Even if your predictions turn out to be true, it's still essentially a lucky guess based on a hunch.

Well that's conspiracy theorists for you. The vaguest of links is usually all they need to call INSIDE JERB!  Cheesy
Pretty much exactly what people told me when I warned people about Sheep. The first SR survived for quite a while before going down, SM had their user amount by thousands and thousands yet their only had very little server problem (I personally didn't notice any downtime and I followed the thread with a close eye. BMR was around at the same time as SR1, with roughly half the services offered. They had days of downtime, propably over a week in total. Even when they brought more servers it couldn't handle the traffic - how come the SM servers were so good at handle a user increase by 10 000% with very little trouble?

As for SR2 nobody can say for sure but the amount of drugs offered on the site doubled in 1-2 days - only that is suspicious imo. And they've already been 'hacked' or whatever it was. But time will tell, no point in arguing about stuff like this since you wont change your mind anyway.

Of course people are going to tell you that. You cannot honestly be serious in claiming that you knew based solely on the name. And I'll change my mind when there's actual evidence and not just wild speculation and assumption based on the vaguest of conspiracies.

I am familiar with SR since 2 years back, when Sheep came I told EVERYONE everywhere that the site was a scam - turned out I was right... It's easy to fool people when you name it sheep theythink "if they wanted to scam me they wouldn't be stupid enough to name it Sheep" but that's the easiest way to scam... Do it in the open.

I'm not sure they were trying to pull off a double bluff. It's just the nature of these markets really, they just wont and don't have a long lifespan. I'm sure they'll get smarter and go more decentralised though. They're going to need to if they want to survive.

that doesn't even make any fcking sense, what does it's name have to do with anything..

It was sad that they took down BMR, I guess that the owner got an offer too good to refuse for SR2 to have monopoly. Thing is that I am pretty sure that SR2 also is run be the feds or DEA (I lol'd irl when they said 20k coins had been seized... yeah right, I know of a seller who had over 5k on his account, + everything in escrow = 500k BTC easily). Even if they start to pay out fairly they could still be in charge, what better way to earn trust to pay back BTC from your own wallet?

EDIT: https://blockchain.info/tx/1c12443203a48f42cdf7b1acee5b4b1c1fedc144cb909a3bf5edbffafb0cd204 methinks this may be part of the SR bust. If the feds keep this up the American goverment will have enough money eventually to take over the market, or at least save their economy.

Wait I thought silkroad 2.0 was shut down too. Or I think I misread someone elses post.
It was hacked and tons of BTC was stolen. Think the owner payed the stolen BTC back, but not 100% sure.

Yeah, it was "hacked". The admin said he will pay people back over time, but whether he will or not is another thing.
He get 5% of every sale and there is an instant fee you have to pay in order to become a seller. That's a LOT of BTC, 5k is nothing in comparison to how much he will have earned in a year or so.

The instant fee is a bond which you get back, and where are you getting 5k from?

All over the internet, 4.5K estimated coins gone. If you'd quit posting so much, maybe you'd know that.

I don't see the correlation between posting on here and knowledge of everything else. I'd seen several different figures of how many coins were actually taken and I thought it was much more.

doesn't matter how much is stolen, what does matter is how much will the Dread Pirate Roberts send back..

I think it was the defacto admin Defcon who offered the refund. I could be wrong but I think DPR2 went MIA a while back.
