Yes some times i searched one big name especially crypto related and google searched Phishing sites for me. two times i was decieved and i lost some $ also in these Phishing sites. Its very very important to open website from official source (Bitcointalk ANN, Twitter, discord, Coinmarketcap)
Search engine results can be manipulated especially if you're using Google Chrome without safety parameters, if you're a user of the site its important that you bookmarked the site, you can also use a good anti-virus that can trace phishing site, there are also extensions to trace phishing sites but in my case, I limit the use of extension, but awareness is very important if it involves money you have to double check if you are on the right site.
You are right mate, I've had experiences where I search a site on Google, lo and behold, clone sites, which are possibly scam sites, appear on the top of the list before the actual site I was looking for, assuming I wasn't so sure of the url I was looking for, I could possibly fall prey to those fake scam sites..
So indeed, it is very important to be very careful with each site we visit, most especially, when it involves money and personal information.
Though it's still risky though, but I think saving passwords still helps alot, as this sometimes helps me recognize fake site when am asked to login to a site I know I've logged in before.
