Hi everyone! Smiley

Am from Singapore but currently staying in JB. Been following BTC news since Apr or so this year. Seem to me one of the few ways of really making $ from BTC is to invest in a company like ASICMiner. What do  you guys think?

AP

Hi AP,  the dividend from the shares not a lot if I am not wrong.  But yes, it gives steady returns and ASICMiner is one of the most successful mining farms.

So, anybody interested in the USB Block Eruptor going for 0.99BTC each (with min 50 purchase)?

I still awaiting for 4x of these to arrive.  I paid 2.6 BTC each some time ago. Sad
But it is good for novelty and the occasional "office mining".
Someone should set up a group buy for SG/MY also.  Don't forget, every 50 qty ordered gets 2x more for free!

Unlikely to break even on that device but would be nice for novelty factor! I'd probably buy 1 at the most...wonder if we can get enough to groupbuy the other 49.

Derek>  I'm down for one share if you have a sell clause and want outside investment. Keep us updated

blackreplica,  yes that is one of the intentions as well.
I'm still adding some more clauses to make it more clearer.  Upon taking delivery and if it can be auctioned for instant profit, why not? Tongue  The main purpose is to make money, however best way to do it.
Currently 15/20 shares taken.  If no one else comes in to meet the required shares we will make it available for external.

My hunch is that if knc delivers on their promised schedule it may actually be more cost effective to sell the Saturn when you take delivery - the way kncminers promises delivery will result in a massive increase of difficulty in a short period of time since they plan to deliver a large amount almost all at once. Maybe you can include a clause for shareholders to vote on selling the hardware at any time if there is majority vote. There is a high premium on mining equipment here and a lot of the buyers here will pay prices for equipment which will make it near impossible for them to break even in a reasonable timeframe, if ever! - I am not sure why this is happening. The same is happening with buyers of mining bonds who have almost no hope of earning back their investment at the prices they are paying per mhash. My impression is that if this madness continues, selling the hardware instead of using it makes more sense

If you have a liquidation clause for shareholders and are looking for outside investment I might be able to throw in a share or two to support you

Yups that is a risk that I will take.
In any case, refunds are possible before shipping so that is a option to cash out.

In the bitcoin world have to risk it sometimes.
I feel knc should be solid. At least they have openhouse and people have seen what they can do.
Pray hard they will deliver in Oct as they told me.

The pricing of KNC is too good to be true.   So it will most likely ends up like BFL with perpetual delay, and only a few lucky people will get a few units so that they can do free advertisement for the company.

When a company can price an item at a higher margin (such as the case of ASICMiner and Avalon), but choose not to do it, you have to be wary about their intention.

I have a venture proposal to my friends in colleagues for a kncminer unit and the proposal is at http://sgminingconsortium.wordpress.com

Feel free to have a look.  Currently not open to public yet unless we are short of investors.

Don't see much on the page, is it incomplete?

Mining seems a hot topic for Singaporeans, maybe I should open up a mining subforum too. Derek if you decide to open up the proposal to outside parties you can post a thread on sgbitcoin with the details and I'll sticky it at the top

Just sold all my gpu's in Singapore ... now I am gpu-less. Mining has ceased, my office is cooler, and powerbills are down lah Smiley

Just waiting for ASIC's to arrive now ... one day.

Got my 2 X BFL this week but sold it off to

Nice work, I too think you did right selling the ASICs. Difficulty gonna really skyrocket the next couple of months. Better to take the money now, upfront

Good profit there.   Can't get more than that even if you keep the machine and mine yourself Smiley

I long for the old style GPU rigs, hope to bring some to my melbourne home and replace the heaters, they offer even better heating than heaters.  Wasted, dismantled them instead of shipping them to melbourne Sad
