Can someone tell me in a few sentences where we are at?

How is the IPO being run and what is the status of accessible Windows and Linux wallets?

too much delay

If we sat in an IRC chat room handling out coins by hand, would be done and take five minutes. However, had to add deterministic Bitcoin address generation to Skycoin and a bot and do cryptographically signed receipts that allow third party verification, through a tox bot. The IPO is over engineered... We already had two working python bots for distribution and should have used those instead of writing a new bot in golang *sigh*

chronic over-engineering.

Good news is that Skycoin almost functions as a full Bitcoin thin-client now and the bot is almost a full Skycoin/Bitcoin exchange. With an sx wrapper, it will do Dogecoin and Litecoin too...

Hah, what's the progress? 3 days have passed.

@Dev: Will we get at least a comment?

He is the man of few words :-))) he doesn't like to talk a lot.

Anyway, I have been reading his updates, reports and observations for a year in this thread and I think the Skycoin dev is one of the best in crypto. He is easily in the league of Vitalik Buterin, Peter Todd or Dan Larimar (BitShares).

Personally for me is not about for the possible return and profit from the IPO, ICO or whatever the fuck is this - I am just happy to support the development on a crowd funding basis. If he deliver just 10% of the tech he promises then crypto will gain a lot from this project, so I think all crypto enthusiasts could support this project, without any worries.

I hope the wanna be rich high school brigade and similar caliber and mentality investors that want to get rich quickly by investing their 1-2 BTC lunch money and then pathetically waiting the pump - as we witnessed it with many coins in the past - will stay away from this coin and give time/peace for the dev to deliver.

I cant agree with you any more

The problem with the 98% in devs hand is simply TRUST. That´s the reason we don´t like Ripple and Bitshares.
If you are real and have the beautiful mind you propose everything is ok, but how should we trust you.

You wrote the problem with Ripple, etc. there are huge accounts htat can dump anytime. In this case that´s the same, it´s you.

Maybe you can find a solution to proof to everyone your good intention. But I don´t see a way how to do this. I hope you do.

So in reality how does this work?

You sell 2%, get the money and use it for development.
Then you take some % for bounties.

And how are the 40-50% distributed over time?
You sell it in different IPO´s? Or you give them as interest to the stakeholders?

If a: different IPO´s:  For what price? The original price, the actual price, some price between?
That´s all kind if heavy manipulation. cause you bring the price down with every IPO. I am in for longterm, so that wouldn´t be a problem for me, but there will be speculators, and they will buy IPO´s and sell before IPO´s. So they will have plenty of opportunitys to grab the money from new people coming in.

So it looks kind of flawed to me, even cause I believe in your good intentions and your knowledge.

The main question... is it already answered !?

Guys, seriously, whats the problem?

If you think this is an unfair offering, dont invest.
If you think this is an shitty offering, just dont invest.
If you think dev is hoarding coins, JUST dont invest.
If you think dev will dump the price after ipo, JUST DONT invest.

Its so simple guys...
No need to talk a river.

If you can live with it, then invest.
(also simple)

 Cheesy

The problem is we would all like to invest and help the dev out, but a lot of us were burned badly by such IPOs last year.

Most of us were scammed, personally I would like to invest but dev needs to take into account how badly the altcoin community was burned last year.

I will keep watching and would really like to invest but the IPO terms are making me doubtful.

What percentage will be given away during the coin giveaway for alpha testing? When will the alpha testing take place and how can we participate in it? Will there be restrictions on who can participate?

...

Coin Distribution:

- There is no mining.
- All coins are created in genesis block.
- The coins will be distributed in a fair, open process
- There will be a coin giveaway for alpha testing
- No matter what distribution strategy is chosen, we expect that some people will whine.

There will be many rounds of IPO to manipulate the price.

I think this is a bad way of IPO issuance
Early investors have no profit
If I don't play for the first time investment
Can I continue my order of merit secondary investment
Then I don't have to buy COINS circulation
I just need to wait for the second time
For the first time, investors how to obtain the so-called five times earnings?

If people don't see this obvious scam, they deserve to lose money. What a joke "1000 BTC is nothing" my arse. Lets downplay how much we're ripping people off so we can buy a new sports car.

I doubt this is a scam, although given the history of this thread I guess the probability of failure (or not delivery) of this project is too high to put your money in. From what we have seen so far :

Things I don't like :

- Failure to communicate (this thread is the only source of information), opacity. No need for this.
- 1 anonymous dev : Despite the random use of "us" in the posts it seems clear that you are alone developing this coin.
- No roadmap (deadlines or however you want to name it)
- Too ambitious project (Meshnet, Darknet, Coin, Messaging, Skywire, ... ) All this things have already fallen.
- Reinventing the wheel over and over.
- Failure to innovate, the only real innovation of this coin was the consensus algorithm which has been postponed (cancelled ? who knows)
- Bill Clinton, Nuclear submarines and sport cars.

Things I like(d) :
- Focus on the simplicity of the code.
- Long term vision (darknet, skywire, meshnet).

I am just speaking from a tech point of view since I am not interested in IPOs, ICOs or the like.
Good luck Smiley

Agree! Eventhough dev spike about fair distribution.

Best ipo/ico imho for skycoin would have been a hybrid of burning like counterparty + percentage for devs

I am running skycoind headless on one machine, but I would like to access the web interface from another machine on the same local network.  Is there a way to enable web access from an address other than the localhost?
Thanks

Yes, this is very important so we can have an ARM based always-on coinbox running on the local network so Skycoin doesn't need to be running on a desktop or cloud server. This will be especially needed to run the box as a wireless mesh networking node.

Could we have an answer to this please? We would like to determine if Skycoin and Skywire are worth pursuing as a combined application for this device. Thanks.
