Many investors don't research to find the coin, but they only follow what other people suggest in social media. That makes them lose their bitcoin by investing in altcoin, and that make them hold the altcoin for a long time or cut loss the altcoin right away when the price is down. Maybe the altcoin is for the short term investing, and bitcoin will be the long term investing. But still, they need to search for the coin to invest in an altcoin.

The trend of making a new scamcoin with hundreds of promises has slowed a bit but hasn't stopped completely. I guess people still keep trickling in in the form of newbies and the promoters manage to get away with selling off repeated vaporware. Just see how exchanges still continue to sponsor IEOs etc.
There are a few established players out there but in the end, it is traders and so-called developers playing with the hopeful sentiments of newbies who get trapped due to the fake promotions and marketing. The traders manage to dump their bags while the few people who get genuinely interested end up carrying the burden. At this point of time, if you really want a return on investment, go with BTC. Continuing to put money into alts is the worst possible move for a genuine investor who isn't hoping to fleece someone else.

Remember if you only buy into something thinking you will sell later, there are much more agile traders out there.They follow the trends more closely than a normal small investor imagines. They don't care about projects and do this "sentiment" thing for a living. They will dump their shit on you before you know what hit you. Its a losing game. Stop playing it. If you want money then just focus on hodling BTC and taking small profits whenever your target is hit.

The biggest theif of our precious digital gold are not Ponzi scheme but Altcoins we buy only to expect to double our bitcoin in a bull run, but the alt just get dumps more and more against the bitcoin, one is forced not to sell at loss and miss out of bitcoin bull run. Some of these altcoins just go dead.

That's why most investors prefer to do short term trading to make a profit then they will switch to holding BTC later on.

Profit in altcoin is only possible in short-run, for the long run Bitcoin is the only right asset to invest.

There should be and I don't think that they are blindly investing crypto. For that they are doing, I supposed to think that they also accept the risk and could be someday, they might also suffer losses.

Bitcoin demand was always high to investors than altcoin and it will be always. It's a simple fact that when market start going down traders sold their altcoin to increase their btc. The point you made in your topic is really important. Many people don't think details like that but when you start calculating very details you'll find how many btc everyday you are losing because of altcoin trading. But it also true that crypto trading doesn't run in one specific way. You also have to choose several way to survive here.

For me, altcoins are for short-term investment only and you will still find bitcoin as more reliable and efficient cryptocurrency. Altcoins are sometimes dependent on btc market, the recent drop of bitcoin to $8,000 has also affect the altcoins like ethereum.

Since then, I don't find investing and wasting time in altcoin is a good idea, unless you get free from airdrop or it is a popular altcoin that has potential like ethereum.

As an experienced trader, you certainly understand how this investment and trading system can benefit the culprit. A trader must have good management how to manage his assets to get profit and yes, bitcoin has been a good investment asset for more than a decade and has been profitable for traders and investors.
And what I can trust today is, every time the price of bitcoin goes down, the price will recover.  If we can maximize the opportunity then traders and investors will get profit and this cycle has lasted a long time.

Being an investor must be smarter in managing his investment.
Buying altcoin then Altcoin goes down when the price of BTC is unstable, it is the risk of fluctuating prices that must be accepted. that is very reasonable, if as a novice investor do not want to lose do not buy Altcoin at a time when the price of Bitcoin is not stable.
Also choose Altcoin which has high credibility and is in the top 10 CMCs.

For a safe choice, it's better to buy Bitcoin, but don't get stuck with FOMO, buy at low prices, sell at high prices and HODL if you want to invest in Bitcoin Longterm.

If you invest now in altcoins, it would be hard to recover unless you really want that altcoin to begin with. Almost all altcoins follow the BTC's price in general so when the value of the BTC rises, the value of it also rises. That would really happen if you invest in shitcoins too.

when people buy bitcoin they should know that whenever the price of bitcoin increases the price of altcoins a lot in relation to bitcoin it starts to fall a lot and takes a long time to recover and has scenarios that do not recover, for example, two years ago ETH price reached 0.1 BTC and I saw many people buying ETH at that price thinking that ETH would reach 0.2 BTC and today the ETH price is less than 0.025 BTC. It's not just small investors, anyone who is holding alts will likely lose their Bitcoin value in the future, because alts tend to perform worse than Bitcoin ever since the 2017 bubble has popped.
