There’s no benefit of smoking. There’s nothing it does other than slowly kill you. If you want to lower stress and anxiety, there are so many ways to get that done. Some people even smoke electronic cigarettes thinking they are being smart but they don’t know that it’s just as dumb as smoking an actual cigarette. The carbon monoxide you say binds to hemoglobin in the blood, and reduces its ability to carry oxygen to his vital organs and tissues in his body. This can lead to a handful of problems that he probably doesn’t know. Encourage him to quit smoking. If he needs help, help him seek help. Or someday you may not have him any more.
I think that most people who smoke are aware about these things. I doubt that anyone thinks that's healthy to smoke, but they still do it. It's their choice, same like people choose to drink alcochol, junk food or too much energy drinks - none of these aren't beneficial for health too.
Anyway, no matter how you will live, what you will drink or eat, in the end most likely that you won't be healthy when you will die.

They definitely know that it is causing harm to their body, but I am in doubt that they know to what level the damage is caused and what exactly is the damage. Additionally, I feel that maybe the dangers of smoking hasn’t been elaborated enough to them other than the “smokers die young”. They really need to know how it happens and the fact it could happen anytime unexpectedly.
Most smokers already know the damage that tobacco smoking does to their body, but they cannot stop because they are addicted and see no reason to stop smoking. This is why they feel reluctant of stopping because they feel that if they stop, they will not be able to overcome stress and tension.

Some smokers have quitted smoking because they don't want any side effect from smoking or maybe their loved ones don't want them to smoke, so they just have to sacrifice for love by giving up to smoking.

I being a smoker is a person choice and any consequences is what one need to be prepared to face.
The rate of smoking at this time is very alarming and it is very important for us to know that  smoking is becoming the order of the day.
We can stop smoking when we understand the effect and the danger it could pose to our health. Smokers are liable to die young but we have been seeing smokers living even longer than someone that is not a smoker. The most important thing is for use to make sure that we take good food that would nourish our body.

First of all smoking never relieves stress and anxiety but increases it. This is not initially understood because smoking when you are under stress or anxiety will make your head spin. That is first divert your brain for a while and then double your previous stress or initiative. If you are a smoker then you can check it. For those who smoke smoking seems to be very beneficial. It is the habit that man creates that controls him and acts a kind of love towards the habit. But ultimately this is the cause of man's downfall.

I would not dare to say governments have normalized the consumption of tobacco and smoking. Actually, if you look back many years, smoking used to be more socially acceptable and more widespread than it is today.
Here in my country, for example, there was a time people were allowed to smoke almost wherever they wanted: in busses, in banks (as they waited their turn in the line), in malls, and other places. It was common to see ashtrays in many establishments and businesses.
But nowadays things have changed, it was made illegal for smokers to consume their cigs inside buildings, so they are supposed to go outside for them to do so.

Also, if you check on the story books and videos on the history of tobbaco, you will find in previous decades cigarettes were even recomended as healthy or harmless for people, so their advertisement was more common all around the western countries.
Things seem to be bad when comes to smoking, but were definitely worse in previous decades. You should check it.

Cuban Cigars believed to have many health benefits and still does but look what government is doing, they don't want to stop people smoking that's why they didn't ban the cigarette smoking manufacturers, they just implemented 200% or even more tax rates on these products so if you want to smoke then pay the price.

Also we need to accept that we are not seeing the same thing that's cultivated a century before so I don't think it has any health benefits at all comparing its health complications.

Almost all of us know that smoking is bad for health.  But a smoker doesn't know it or doesn't want to understand it.  They don't want to accept the complex and difficult disease that they can get.  If you explain to smokers, they will explain to you on the contrary, those who are non-smokers are not affected by complex diseases?  Do they die?  I will say one thing about them, they eat in happiness and in sadness and in joy and in pain.  Usually, once young people get addicted to smoking due to peer pressure, they cannot quit it later.  Many years of consumption cause it to take a terrible shape.

WTF?Cheesy That's the worst thing you can do since early in the morning your body craves oxygen and the best thing you can literally do is to run a bit, ride a bicycle, walk a dog if you have one, just go outside and get some fresh air along with a light workout, then get back and drink a cup coffee that will get blood pumping through your lungs. Smoking in the morning when your body is trying to wake up and stretch is suffocating your cells.

In some countries smoking is in the decline, while in others it's on the rise. I know that in Russia most people smoke. It's the same in many former Soviet states like Bulgaria or Belarus.
Harsh environment and hard jobs make people look for ways to relax, take a break. Many employers allow workers to take cigarette breaks, maybe that's one of the reasons.

It is difficult for someone who already has a smoking habit to stop it because if it is addictive then smoking is like a tool for generating inspiration and ideas. Yep, old-school cigarettes are vile, disgusting things which lead you to a miserable lung-cancer death. Avoid ever starting since it is so hard to quit.
I guess it more depends on person, some try it and get addicted. I can talk from my perspective. I tried cigarettes few times when I was very young, but I didn't liked and didn't become addicted. I smoke on extremely rare occasions now, but actually forgot when did I bought cigarettes last time.

If you’re not a smoker or an addict you’ll never understand what they feel but the day you join them and take some puffs your way of thinking will immediately change and you’ll begin to think like them and all that will matter to you by that time is how to get some cigarettes to take. On how many the number of advantages it may have, it is better to look at the disadvantage of it which is more severe and more painful when hit by any of those circumstances that comes as a result of smoking.

This is something society leaders cannot stop, and it is fully legal for people to use as they like despite some damage that will involve in the future, and some people have vow never to stop smoking but they can force them to stop other things in the society but they cannot stop smoking.

Cigarettes in Nigeria is bodily written on them that smokers are liable to die young. It seems the Federal Ministry of Health has made it mandatory for all cigarettes producing companies to put that label warning on the body of the product to serve as a warning to all smokers but they still don’t listen or pay heed to it. Prevention is better than cure only if they knew the free advice they’re getting from that.

Smoking is not a good way to handle stress and anxiety. It will be better to seek other healthy means of tackling these emotional disorders. I don't also think that smoking is the solution to handle fear because after smoking one might still face the same challenge. The demerits of smoking are higher than the perceived benefit hence it is better to avoid this harmful behavior.

Another problem associated with smoking is its addictive nature. When one is hooked up to smoking, it becomes an uncontrollable behavior. I live in a country that experiences very hot weather and marvel when I see my fellow countrymen smoke cigarettes under the hottest sun. Some of them have been told by physicians to quit smoking because of health issues. But they will continue smoking and don't care if they are dying slowly.

When you ask a smoker while he is indulging in such act, they have so much to tell you about their reasons for smoking. Some say it gives them inspiration, some say it makes them not to to think of their problems and sorrows, as if they will be free from such after the light goes off. I have witnessed some smokers who go to defecate while smoking and according to him if he doesn't indulge in that while defecating then he won't be able to pass his waste. So you see that the government has a role to play in this by regulation how people can smoke because it also has some health challenges like you have mentioned. I think the rate of smoking is higher now especially among the young and youth.
Those smokers ha made it to be a habit for themselves that if they don't smoke while deficating, they feel they will not be able to bring out the waste product. Those smokers that wakes up from bed in the morning, first thing that they do is to smoke, have also made it a habit. Addiction is what controls their rate of smoking.

Smoking tobacco is dangerous to our health, and that has being a warning from onset. The government can only give awareness of the negative effects of smoking but cannot force anyone not to smoke. However, there are some benefits to smoking which only the smokers can tell you about.

I also want to believe that there is a decreasing demand on the rate of smoking in the society, since many are getting the exposure to know about the implication of what it may cause on their health, government should also raise an awareness campaign so that people will be enlightened in knowing the implication danger of smoking on human health, we can as well perform the little help we can render in encouraging others not to smoke and those smoking to desist from it.

even though it has become a bad habit for many people, we cannot eradicate the habit of smoking in society. i remember that my father had this habit, where he would smoke 2 or 3 cigarettes every morning with coffee as his morning companion. he did that for years, but recently he has started to reduce this habit because he feels that the price of cigarettes is getting more expensive and he needs to reduce this for the sake of his health.

so even though this habit is very bad, we can't blame smokers completely, because after all the government also needs to be active in regulating and limiting how people can be aware that excessive smoking is something that is not good for health, because they get taxes from it.

First I want to emphasize that smoking is dangerous to health and smokers are liable to die young, this is what the ministry of health says in my country, and health organizations attests to this, and I agree with them. I think that cigarettes is one commodity that governments warns against that it's dangerous to health, yet they don't ban it, like they do other consumables that they say are harmful for human consumption, it makes me to feel like cigarettes are the untouchable ones. Despite everything that is being said about cigarettes, I've seen a few old men that still smokes, so I guess that some people are immune to the dangers of cigarettes, while it's very harmful to many.

I am not an smoker, but I have interacted with many smokers through my life, some of them being part of my family and others being co-workers and companions at college and all of them seem to agree smoking helps them to calm down, to relax and keep anxiety away from their minds.
I don't know exactly how it works though, even though I have felt anxiety before, I don't know which is the mechanism behind smoking which could help people to feel relaxed and not to face anxiety.

Also, I have read it is scientifically proven that smoking induces both a mental/psychological and chemical dependence on the individual who has smoked long enough, the chemical dependence is because the human body becomes used to the nicotine doses and craves for more when they run out.
Having a tobacco business may be one of the most profitable ones, together with the alcohol manufacturing, vices of the people always seem to sell well.
