If OgNasty can understand it then come on Psy and Smoothie. No reason you can't either!

What are we exactly supposed to understand?

That the name of the organization you supposedly operate under, "The Litecoin Foundation", implies non-profit yet you have not addressed community concerns of your legitimacy as a non-profit organization?

Why have you not answered simple questions about your non-profit organization?

Part of the problem here is that you are not asking valid questions and your point of view is very limited. If we feel that you need to know details of what we do we will share them with you. You have no right to know.

I would have more of a right asking you about how your "company" is registered as I am a customer of yours. You have nothing to do with the Litecoin Foundation and I hope to God never will.

I'd like for you to try to explain why you think we must meet your demands.

Community questions & concerns =/= Smoothie's demands. <---- Let's get that straight, Goat.

A link is not a demand. I've only asked why you choose not to answer the questions, that was it. No demands were made although in your world it seems that my comments are filled with demands.

Now that you have made it clear that you do not want to share information with the public about your supposed non-profit organization, that is fine. Just keep in mind that your name is misleading if it is indeed a non-profit and you can't prove it nor want to prove it. Let's end on that topic.

Concerning my business (since you like to divert attention) I do not have to register as any MSB given I do not accept fiat payments, but I have registered LEALANA, LLC. in the county of Honolulu now that you've asked.

See, I don't need to hide anything. But then again that is my choice. I just prefer not to operate in a shroud of secrecy while at the same time touting the name "The Litecoin Foundation" as if it is a realistic entity that is indeed a "Foundation" by definition of the law in the country you are operating in.

Hello!
He didn't even do anything. He just pointed out that you are conducting slightly shady business by calling it a foundation and making it sound non profit, thats all.

then you over reacted in a way that makes it seem like you are actually doing something suspicious. This discussion isn't going to really go anywhere since (it seems) no one is doing anything wrong

Welcome to the SaltySpitoon, how Tough are ya?
Do keep in mind that thread was made in October of 2012, back then Smoothie had no other role in the community besides annoyance, so he didn't think twice about making... "questionable" posts. I think you two need to make up like big boys, and realize Smoothie was dumb in the past, (you can't argue that Smoothie) and Goat, you were an easy target for Smoothie's brand of comedy/self amusement.

Just to put things into Context, at the time, Smoothie made up like 80% of Alt Currency's reports (he doesn't touch .01% today) and wasn't October short before your break from the forums Goat?

Had this thread not been made in 2012, it would not be something that would be made again. I don't really want to see a fight between a Smoothie and a Goat, and I know the two of you at least fairly well, so left alone, this little back and forth thing will be quite drawn out, so for the love of yourselves and everyone who will be in the path of the dripping sticky mess, and the rampant eattings of a goat, please settle this.

For those with no context, I'm just not going to provide any so its more confusing for you.

Hello!
Slightly off topic, however I hope that you will approve as it makes a point. I'm interested in setting up a Bitcointalk reality T.V show, and its part Jerry Springer and part boxing. So people can sit and yell at each other, and then after that they get to box.

Goat and Smoothie, just wondering if you would like to be the first to appear on the show?

I'm not attacking him and the groups he is involved with. Remember his attack thread on me personally? He has nothing better to do than go around and troll. Fine, freedom of speech and whatever but really he does not add anything to the conversation. You see his ignore is tan? That is as dark as it can get.

He clearly can not justify his demands so this should end now.

there is no reason to discriminate against someone, no matter how tan they are. Smoothie lives in hawaii, of course he's going to be tan you racist.

Goat, you sound like a reasonable person, and I can understand

how it sucks when it feels like everyone is on your case.

I would respectfully like to ask if the LiteCoin Foundation is a registered non-profit,

my reason being that if I donate then I can take it off on my taxes. Thank you.

^ This.

Well what i can tell you is that you will not be able to donate unless you are a member. If you become a member you can know everything. We have not accepted a new member in about a year and are not looking at this time. The way this is set up it is very hard for us to add people. We also have pretty high demands on members.
Why should the community trust such a secretive club to not just act in its own interest?

What gives it any legitimacy?

You should not at all trust it. We have no legitimacy in the community. You should treat us like any other random ltc supporter.

In the community? What a goof! You have no legitimacy, PERIOD!

Which then implies your entity using the word "Foundation" with no actual factual documents or filings as a Foundation (non-profit as you claim) is indeed not a legitimate Foundation, thus misleading.

So I see that goat is very active in this thread when he wants to whine and attack people but as soon as the actual questions show up he is once again nowhere to be found. It's not that he hasn't been on the site either, his forum profile easily gives that away, he's just ignoring this thread. So what's the deal goat, why the sudden lack of interest in this thread?

Care to answer any of the questions posed? In what jurisdiction is the "Litecoin Foundation" registered?  Is it incorporated as a non-profit?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundation_(nonprofit)

Quote
One of the characteristics of the legal entities existing under the status of "Foundations", is a wide diversity of structures and purposes. Nevertheless, there are some common structural elements that are the first observed under legal scrutiny or classification.

Chart of a foundation
Legal requirements followed for establishment
Purpose of the foundation
Economic activity
Supervision and management provisions
Accountability and Auditing provisions
Provisions for the amendment of the statutes or articles of incorporation
Provisions for the dissolution of the entity
Tax status of corporate and private donors
Tax status of the foundation
Some of the above must be, in most jurisdictions, expressed in the document of establishment. Others may be provided by the supervising authority at each particular jurisdiction

If "The Litecoin Foundation" is a private foundation (sounds like it so far) Then the following applies in the U.S:

Quote
Private foundations typically have a single major source of funding (usually gifts from one family or corporation rather than funding from many sources) and most have as their primary activity the making of grants to other charitable organizations and to individuals, rather than the direct operation of charitable programs. When a person or a corporation founds a private foundation frequently family members of that person or agents of the corporation are members of the governing board. This limits public scrutiny over the private foundation, which entails unfavorable treatment compared to community foundations.
The differing treatment of private foundations compared to public charities including community foundations is as follows: (a) foundation must pay out 5% of its assets each year while a public charity does not; (b) donors to a public charity receive greater tax benefits than donors to a foundation; (c) a public charity must collect at least 10% of its annual expenses from the public in order to remain tax-exempt while a foundation does not.

Other countries have their own laws on this of course. But in all fairness the term "Foundation" being used the way it has been without any legitimacy to the legal filings etc can be misleading.
