Autotrading platforms that pay their investors dividends are nothing but a scam. USI-TECH rippled me off all my bitcoin even though I had a premonition to quite it because of unverifiable information they always presented, until the day they left the scene. These are the people who create cryptocurrency in a bad light.

Oh my god!!! It looks so genuine I really don't understand how the government allow such people for an open scam, these people will exist until the people will be vanished from the world. They want to make their people's Fool and taking advantage to make money in a real quick time.

So everyone needs to be alert and observant so that you are aware of being scammed by those abusive people. Government has nothing to do with it but supporting them. Sometimes the problem in a certain country is the government itself that's why they don't have any progress for development. People should make a stand so that they aren't vulnerable about losing their money. Government is very powerful and people doesn't have any capability of doing something against them. Scammers are very good to jackass people so that they make a profit out of their  bad doings.

People are scammed only because they don't have enough knowledge on this also if the government supports crypto on their country, they have to take serious actions on such type of scammers to avoid scam in future.

Not only beginners are prone to this, some scammers are very professional so that even an old bitcoin user can be also a victim. We should read articles about this scams, it will also important to seek help and advice to those professional bitcoin users. Every country should know the importance of bitcoin, so that scammers are scared because of the consequences that they can acquire in fooling people. Government are the only people who have power in reducing people by catching them.

So it's either the Philippines are getting traction that's why it has gained the attention of cyber criminals and think that Filipinos can easily fall for this trick because of this Filipino couple amasses at least P900M in alleged Bitcoin scam, or simply that Bitcoin is really becoming global so we shouldn't be surprised if some countries in Asia or in Africa are going to be the next target for this online criminals.

Again, the only weapon for this is to have enough knowledge and do our own investigations before we can invest on cryptos.

Sad to say, but most of the Filipinos don't want to bother to learn about the business model of such investment programs. What these people care about is the profit that they received from their investments, without even thinking where the profit-money came from. The most recent example for this was the ponzi schemes like KAPA, Forex (Investment scheme name, not the Foreign Exchange trading), Rigen, and so on. They have deceived the people to believe that these companies is earning big amount of money from Cryptocurrency trading, thus making good amount of monthly ROI from each members.

That Php 900M is such a huge amount imagine the number of Filipino people who got fooled.

They are basically just editing a screenshot of whatever show they are watching and just change the headlines after. With all the available tools that we have right now for photo and video manipulation, it's fairly easy to do such and fool people with these edited pictures. Tons of those advertisements can be found on Filipino forums, Facebook pages, Twitter and whatnot. Whenever I have the time, I try to report all such posts to at least help notify these sites from the scams. Heck, even in Canadian, Thailand and Vietnamese forums would you see the same type of thing! That's why sometimes I'm thinking that it's better to filter cryptocurrency ads on Google or any other large websites that people frequent in order to minimize the number of people being scammed.

My Facebook account is always exposed to these advertisements using pictures and names of different big names in both business and showbiz here in the Philippines. Shockingly, there are still many who are thinking that the ads are true. It is unfortunate that Facebook and Google have not yet taken down the ads; this is actually just many of the manifestations that their vetting process is not functioning well.

In Code We Trust
Cryptocurrency advertisements are good when they are authorized and legitimate, but to associate a celebrity about a scam automated trading site is a pure manifestation of making citizens to lose trust to cryptocurrency.

That is why it is too hard for filipinos to advertise cryptocurrency even in simple words, people are taking advantage of the capabilities of crypto to use it as a tool to scam people when in fact, if it was used properly, we should have better future in cryptocurrency.

By this statement possible the other people saw that was scared in crypto.

Obviously, they are terrified by it.

But here's the thing. There are a lot of scams going around the Philippines for a long time and most of the people are not aware of that. And after a long time, they would be forgetting about it and would fall for another scam. I think it is time for the government to take note of these incidents and they should educate the people about this. They should also focus on this since these scams can also affect the economy of the country for a long time.

Many people take advantages using names of the bitcoin to scamming a people who do not know the cryptocurrency.
That celebrity is famous named Boy Abunda and he is host by night talk show by the other celebrity and he is famous to my country.

I don't blame him for saying his opinion and make a statment aboyt what happen because that's the truth and I hope many people are understandable for that name of crypto was using only of people because crypto is very legit but those people are not.

By this statement possible the other people saw that was scared in crypto.

right, this is especially for beginners who don't understand correctly and they think making money here is easy. so they became the target of scamer and finally the new investors regretted, because it was not in accordance with their expectations, and finally they spread negative news about crypto

Well, sorry about that. We Filipinos are so trusting that is why we usually fall for these scams. We are known for being hospitable that is why we can really fall for these schemes, not all of us though. We also love to look at the brighter side than the dark side, people here usually don't know a scam unless they knew that their money is gone.

I have second though on a project that uses celebrity to promote a project or platform because they do not need it the platform will promote itself just like Bitcoin it doesn't need celebrities in fact, celebrities are the one who needed Cryptocurrency look at Manny Pacquiao he sets up his own project because of it's potential.
It's better to well aware the public about the bitcoin and it's purpose. Some of these people are taking advantage of the naive one who hasn't enough knowledge of what is bitcoin. It's easy to fool those people because their mindset is always a "get rich quick" without knowing what is the meaning of gaining something through hard work.
Yes. Because of people mindset about bitcoin to get rich quickly, people forget easily proper ways not to be scammed. I think the best way to avoid being scammed is to give free education to people about cryptocurrencies and its proper usage as a currency and even as a good investment. Yes bitcoin can help us in our own economy but we still have to work hard for it first before attaining success.

We shouldn't call these scams "bitcoin scams". The scams that do involve bitcoin are just scams. You don't call scams where somebody takes fiat money a fiat scam or a cash scam. It's giving bitcoin a bad name.
That said, the only way to be safe from these scams is to educate yourself or simply be smart and careful with  your money. People who are the easiest to scam are people who are greedy and careless. Usually poor people are like that because they need are desperate for money. The Phillippines is a rather poor country, so scams will thrive there, just like they do in India and the so called third world.

Used to be with beenz, then paypal, then e-gold, and now bitcoin.
Lol.  I'm sure a lot of people here won't know what the hell you're talking about, but I remember beenz.  And Flooz with Whoopee Goldberg endorsing it, which is what I thought bitcoin like was at first before I realized it's decentralized.

I had both actually, remember clicking ads and surfing (gods all those paid to surf coins) to get a few cents. But I was really big on e-gold in those days, and I found out too late later on that HYIPs were also big on it, so when the US acted on it, I lost everything in e-gold.

You can imagine when Bitcoin came around I dismissed it because I thought it was yet another version of digital money.

Too bad I only realised YEARS later Bitcoin was decentralised.

Anyway the point is, the education and awareness on hyips and scams are agnostic of the currency. I don't really buy into all the blacklists that some states try to maintain. People lose money to scams because they don't look on blacklists or don't understand how scams work.

I don't know the answer... but I think if you can't change people's greed, it's not going to help them.

So this is the topic that our fellow Filipinos are talking about in our local boards, that some Filipino celebrities especially actors and actresses are talking about endorsing of bitcoin revolution or the cryptocurrency in which they already said that it was a lie that those celebrities and social media influencers are endorsing this investment. This is quite alarming because there are still some people who are talking about a lie news in order for them just to earn money and because of this the image of cryptocurrency is being messed up just because to those person who are lying to for the sake of their benefits. As stated in the show they already clarify that they are not promoting or endorsing it so that other people will be able to built their mind that this are just a fake news made by other people.

I don't know it if it is the government or just the mass media but almost a lot of times when it comes to news they are always making it look bad to cryptocurrency or bitcoin. I'm not sure if it was just a coincidence but most of the time they are referring the cryptocurrency or bitcoin as a scam. That is why a lot of Filipinos are hesitant to try bitcoin or to invest in bitcoin because the bitcoin is not trusted by a lot of people here in the Philippines because of this news. The news are just referring it always as "bitcoin" but the main reasons of this scam are the people that is taking advantage.

It's also fault of the scam victims in the Philippines because some of them are gullible that they believe on those investments that they will earn big amount in just a short span of time. They don't research properly what they are investing and only focused on the promised return

No one said it wasn't their fault though. Of course it's mostly on their side due to their greed and lack of knowledge. But it wouldn't hurt to spread awareness and to report these sites to bring them down to reduce the damage though.

If you're in the middle of that situation, do you think you can thought of that thing that you've said? We can't understand what they feel believing on that scams. All we have to do is to let them know the difference between legit and scammers. As an experienced bitcoin holder, you must secure your account and wallets for you to keep you away from scammers. Also be updated on the news and seek more information before believing, most of the scammers are using believable facts so that they can fool beginners. For example, with Boy Abunda, the people who used his name will have many beginners to believe because he stated the false information with a famous artist. Always aim for a reliable information about cryptocurrency.

We all know today that the cryptocurrency is one of the most profitable investments that you can earn more money easily with the use of your knowledge and skills and many people want to include in this world because they know the potential it will give them a lot of money, but the problem is the platforms today there are a lot of people now are getting scammed and hack by the websites they browse because they think they can earn a lot of money to those website, but the problem is those platforms are stealing the information of their users through the use of logging in to their websites or tracking the ip of the users and use this to connect into the devices of the users and get the information. Always make sure before browsing into unfamiliar websites is do some review to avoid some issues and problems.

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
Just reported all the sites to safebrowsing.google.com, and this kind of thing really needs to stop. Hoping that cases like this have a much heavier penalty or can't even get bail, they really take the opportunity to scam people especially those who have no knowledge about cryptocurrencies. What they really do is HYIP that you'll get an easy, big sum return for a short amount of time. Mostly these kinds of things are rampant on Facebook Messenger since it's the most commonly used messaging platform here in the Philippines.
