Congratulations. The more real use of the bitcoin, the better for the bitcoin ecosystem. Bitcoin has to be useful before it is adopted.

I had a mouse that crashed my entire computer when it started malfunctioning. I checked everything else, including the hard drive, and memory before I realized it was the mouse. I eventually brought a new one through Paypal. but next time I'm going to use Bitcoin. I didn't think about using it to buy computer equipment, but it sounds more convenient than Paypal.

...Now if I could only do that on amazon or at my local deli to buy beer, eggs, bread, and milk I would close down my Citibank account and go totally bitcoin. You hear me bitcoin DEVS, make it happen.....    Grin

You can always invest in one of the several bitcoin debit cards that's available. In that way you can spend your bitcoin at your local deli. Bit-X and Xapo offers a card that is directly linked to your wallet [think there is others also] so you do not even have to 'load' the card beforehand, just swipe it and the amount comes off your wallet.

I will have to look into that, thanks for the suggestion.

Congrats on your first Bitcoin purchase and it really is convenient to use I hope you enjoy your mouse
And as for in person it is being worked on there are a bunch of services that have it set up to run, bitstamp had a cool one going to it's just a matter of getting merchants to use it now but give it time the hardware exists now we just need to get people to utilize it ^^.

You can always buy Amazon gift cards through Gyft. You can always get gift cards for a bunch of other retailers. I recommend checking it out Cheesy

Ya I know, but it kind of defeats the purpose in my mind. I mean right now I buy bitcoins with cash. So if I wanted to shop with giftcards I could would just skip the bitcoin part and buy the giftcards with cash as it would save money and time.

I was planning to just save up my Bitcoin and not buy anything. But then my mouse stopped working. Well it works but a single click in now double clicks everything. So I can't drag windows around or move icons and selecting txt is a nightmare. So I needed a new mouse but it's not in my budget for the month. I then discovered that my favorite site to buy computer parts at accepts Bitcoin as payment. So I went there, found a nice Keyboard mouse package deal on sale and purchased it using bitcoin. It was super painless, in fact the process was super fast, even faster then typing in my credit-card info. I just selected bitcoin at check out, hit submit which gave me a QR code, scanned it with my phone, and bam, the website updated instantly and thanked me for my purchase. Now if I could only do that on amazon or at my local deli to buy beer, eggs, bread, and milk I would close down my Citibank account and go totally bitcoin.
