I don't know if many of you knows SocialTournaments where they hold free tournaments with different types, maximum multiplier, total points score and other related slot machines tournament, they are managed by Pragmatic Play provider and it is a way to invite people to gambling but I see it as an alternative to people who are addicted, they can stop the addiction as they offer enough daily, weekly and monthly tournaments to keep you entertained without you spending any money and if you are in luck and get the biggest multiplier or biggest score you even win real money to your account which you can withdraw to your crypto wallets.

I am in no way affiliated with them and you need big KYC,Proof of Address,National ID and Proof of Wallet to get your money.Do you think this platform can help people remove addiction,I think it can be a big boost to do so.

No way in fact it's the other way around, you cannot help people stop gambling as long as they are playing a game of chance even if there is no money involved the dopamine effect is still there, this is in fact encouraging them that there's easy money with gambling and they will use real money, only a professional advice and plan can stop gamblers from their addiction, it will not come from game provider whose interest is to promote gambling.

This so-called social tournament promotes gambling and if the player has a good run he will turn to casinos and use real money to try his luck there since he thinks that he has luck in gambling, I don't think the Pragmatic Play provider promotes their game as a means to stop addiction, it's just you assuming it.

Anything related to gambling doesn't stop people to get out on addiction. Even if they didn't spend some amount while playing still it can rise up their urge to gamble since they can play without worrying any risk. But what happen if the program done? For sure those players will find another option and for sure they go on casino then spend real money just to satisfy their selves from playing on the games they like.

The answer will be maybe or no because it depends on each person participating in the tournament. If they can still control themselves and are still willing to prevent gambling addiction or even try to cure their gambling addiction, they will not focus too much on gambling. Still, maybe they will participate in tournaments more often. They will not think about gambling in a casino and using their money because they can participate in the tournament and not use their money.

But if the person is still thinking about making money from gambling, they will probably continue to gamble at the usual casino. They will only keep trying to win and will not stop before they win. But with the tournament, one of the ways to attract them to the tournament is instead of them spending the money in the casino and they can also get the money if they win. But there will be another problem: they will think about the tournament and how they can win in the next tournament.

Most gamblers engage in gambling for entertainment and money. Those who are addicted to gambling because of the fun they derive from it will find these Social Tournaments very helpful. But gamblers that target profit-making will need more than these free games to break free from addiction. Their motivation for gambling is to make a profit so they will not be thrilled by such a substitute.

Alternatively, such games can introduce nongamers to gambling. Since some of the games are similar to real gambling, nongamblers can decide to apply their acquired skills or experience from these dummy games to real gambling. But if gamers can control their gambling drive, Socialtournaments are a valid medium to reduce gambling addiction.

If they are doing it for free, at least they can see that there is a profit here and they can attract people to this side.Demo accounts have already appeared so that people can get their daily dose of gambling.I can say that I have friends who spend more time on demo accounts than before.
I can say that they get the feeling of winning without investing money and thus they play less and invest less money in gambling. These friends I mentioned were addicted to gambling and I can say that they lost a lot of money at the time.Developing something like this could be an important development for Pragmatic Play and for gambling addicts.

It's a small portion of what they get from all the games they created in gambling sites so I think it's a good way of giving back. So, it's like a Slot Hunt. I have not seen that tournament yet and do not also have the details of how it works.
I guess this is where Free Play will come in because there's a minimum bet in Real Play so they cannot use that for tournaments. The highest multi-win will probably be easy to claim in Free Play mode but I doubt it will be easy to win with the high amount of participants.

Will it be a way to stop gambling addiction? Maybe.
There are gamblers who are only targeting events like this but I think that's a low percentage in the whole gambling community. Actually the effect could be the other way around, this kind of event might be the spark of gambling addiction.

Gambling addicts will definitely find ways to satisfy their gambling urge, even though with the emergence of this social tournaments. However, there is also possibility that those who want to take part on this tournament will be setting aside his gambling expenses, thus saving for a while and if lucky enough, he will get decent profits from participating. But still, since this is part of gambling, their addiction will always be there. It’s just that they spend more of their time and effort, without personal money involved. But I think if social tournaments will be prolong, probably there will be participation fee later on.

What I think those new people will try to gamble as long as possible in order to get the highest multipliers or anything that will make them receive money. After they got it, they will try to make deposit and try to make money from the money they got previously.

There are only 3 choices:
1. Gamble more and make more deposit.
2. Trying back the social tournaments.
3. Stop to gambling.

Is there any scientific evidence that such a system really offers an alternative against gambling addiction, or is it simply a way to continue playing without wasting money?  Roll Eyes
I believe no, it's full of assumption Cheesy

On the countrary, I think the tournament is even made to lead more people into addiction and not to help gambling addicts. It is for those who are new in gambling to enjoy and play on a turn because an addict likes to play at anytime on his desire and not to be limited.

Gambling addiction is like a smoker or an addict who craves for his dose of drug at a particular point that he or she needs to take it and not wait for a dose. So, I don't see anyway socialtournament could help a gambling addict to stop the habit.

nice and interesting idea! also interesting that it is offered by a casino-games provider.

I have a slightly different thought between breaking gambling addiction and this tournament. what I know about gambling addiction is someone who wants to continue to satisfy their addiction by gambling at any time whenever they want and even though this tournament is held for free it only takes time to participate in this tournament but this is not an effective way to help quit addictive activity but its just the same because even though its free its still about gambling and gambling addicts what they need to quit their addiction is another activity that is far from gambling or any activity related to gambling.
as did some people out there who have a family addicted to gambling they help stop their activities by way of rehabilitation in a place far from gambling so that their minds will get used to without gambling activity in any form. so I slightly disagree with the tournament to stop addiction.

It's, dare I say, naive to think that these sites could help people who are addicted to gambling and can't stop.

Offering non-monetary engagement is appealing, but do you really think that it's the game that draws people in and not the heady dance with Lady Luck? And just as a side thought, could it not be a trap to pull souls deeper into the abyss?

Proof of Wallet, Know Your Customer, Address... That's a lot to pay for "free" fun, don't you think? But here's the psychological dilemma: Is it really "helping" if it just swaps one form of addiction for another, even if it costs less money? Maybe, just maybe, this platform is just a Band-Aid for something much worse.

No platform of some sort that lets the members play on their casino site and wants them to stop in any way. I think the effect that it could have is that they are going to be more inclined to gamble than switch to real money.

To see a gambling addict gamble for free and remind him the fact that you can get a lot of dopamine hits and feel that "you could win", I think will just worsen the addiction.

The addiction is not spending money on a casino site but the dopamine hits and the "hope of winning" thing. Not that whether it's real money or not. It's consequential but still, the big factor here is enabling the addict to play more.

Certainly not.

Playing with "play money" does not have the same enthusiasm as playing with real money, it ends up being just entertainment. And those who play just for entertainment will hardly become addicted, because when he starts losing money the game becomes boring and he ends up abandoning it.

As for the person who is addicted, when he starts to lose money he has the "need" to recover the lost value, and therefore he sinks more and more.

I believe that games like this can be an educational way to prevent people from becoming addicted, but not a way to treat them.

Not everyone condider gambling as entertainment. As big money is involved with gambling, the addiction is an easy thing that takes place with gamblers. At some point the gamblers focus will be not on winning big and all, they just want their lost money to be recovered. This focus lets them jump and find solution to get back the lost amount. Based on the suggestions in the article it is all about gambling without money involvement. This won't work with the addicted gamblers.

I have never heard about them but is it like that they're into it? How do they get funded and make people have prizes when they don't allow people to gamble with their own money? Is it like charity work for the addicted gamblers and that's their sole purpose in helping them?
Well, the important thing is they don't need people to deposit money and they will allow people to win real money if they ever win the games that they have. I think it's a good way to stop addicted gamblers deposit money and have it removed but in a sense that they're still playing real gambling games.

It is in no way different to gambling IMO. It's still something that you join, bet, and win something from your initial bet. You are still playing with chances with and risking something to gain more so it's still gambling. People who use the platform and are not satisfied with the bets will surely look into another platform wherein they can play more. If anything, it just 'extends' their addiction, and maybe even amplifying their hunger for gambling.

I don't think so in fact the site is feeding their addiction to gambling, Gambling addiction is not about the money involved, they want a feeling of reward whether there is money involved or not.

I've known gamblers who earlier in their betting session won a big amount Instead of quitting they extended their playing time not only because they wanted to recover the money they lost in the past, it's because of the dopamine effect, the feeling of reward from doing specific actions.

You cannot satisfy gamblers with money alone and want the feeling of being satisfied by playing.

I don't think it'd be good. It's an avenue for people to play, yes, but at the same time, the games themselves already exist for free on a lot of platforms. Gambling is, well, gambling because of the money involved, which adds thrill to something really simple. Even a game of coin toss would be fun if money was involved. I guess if you consider how it's "tournaments" then maybe, but by then I'd much rather play other types of games which may take more time and investment, but much more enjoyable than a gamble without the, well, gamble part.

The free money win sounds good though. It's most likely lottery though so that no one takes advantages of it sadly.

It sounds like it could work and hopefully, they plan on running it for a long time, assuming it can help gamblers deal with their addiction. Others say it won't be effective but for me, it could be a good step in the right direction if it can keep them busy throughout the day without gambling.

Chances of winning ain't that high. Also, avoiding addiction depends to the gambler himself. This is a good thing no doubt but would it work 24/7? 'coz gambling provider won't be earning that much to sustain this "program"if that's the case, and if not then that should already be an answer to the question.
I also wanted to ask the same question, but since it's powered by one of the slots providers, sustaining the tournament won't be an issue.
