Hi again,

After seeing some opinions, I decided to follow the comments and add some adjustments to my logo. Simpler is better: I simplified the icon and removed the version with 'O' replacement, because I find it not very useful. Here is how it looks now:

I really like this symbol because it's simple enough, but deep and meaningful at the same time. Different people may see here different things:

- the sun
- planets and their orbits
- sun blasts
- gold alchemy symbol
- solar eclipse
- the crescent moon

and all the assotiations are parts of the big Solaris Universe shown in a small symbol.

People selling Solaris is most likely the miners as I have seen this many times in the past with masternode/pow hybrid coins. I think once Solaris switches over to full POS/masternodes then the price might start to rise and remain stable for a longer period. Solaris will start to get the POS people in who are looking for a good long term hold while they stake. I just saw this happen with VGS recently where the price was always getting smashed because the miners were dumping their coins. Once it switched to POS/masternodes the price stopped going down and has actually started to go up in a big way so I'm thinking the same will happen here. Not long to wait now, just 3 months before we see POS start.

This is what I think is happening right now but I may be wrong. There are so many coins to mine or trade, many very successful at least for a while. Hard to choose and this may be why. You see a coin you think is great so you sell other alts in your portfolio just to trade, you sell it relatively cheap just to sell and buy what you think will be big. Stupid but true.
I am relatively new but I gave up any excitement or panic. I sit down, mine, observe. Stopped trading as I cannot stand selling at current prices. I just can't. SO I'm waiting...

Right now people are dumping everything in an attack on the crypto market.  Blindly selling and walking off a cliff like lemmings.

I voted for the first one. I liked anyway. I thought I would ask a friend who is a great graphic designer but I don't think he would get this done better however I could ask him to try if devs decide to give it another go.

Logo 4 looks great, beats other contestants IMHO.

Since I upgraded my controller wallet and mns to the latest 2.4 release, I do not see any mn rewards coming in anymore. Do others see that?

This happens if you don't close your wallet properly and the database corrupts.

Go to your solaris data folder (%appdata%/solaris/)

Delete all files and folder there, expect for wallet.dat, masternodes.conf and solaris.conf (DO NOT DELETE THESE 3 FILES)

Open your wallet again and let it sync.

Some great quality logos there.  Having trouble choosing between 1, 2 and 4.  I think these three are more professional looking than the other two.

Out of the first two, I like the font of Logo 1, but prefer the graphic of Logo 2.

I will go for logo 4.

Unfortunately, I cannot vote due to my rank. If I can, one vote for the fourth logo. Simple, bright as the future of Solaris project.

I like #1 logo the most.

I always thought Solaris has a standing out logo with a plain design, but very unbalanced with a lot of empty space. I have used to this logo and it has a strong connection with the coin in my mind.
For me, the original logo design is not only the gold symbol. To be honest, I first thought it is a solar flare what was depicted.

Concerning Lem's novel it's still makes a good sense - you can see the planet, the Ocean and a symmetriada in the light of a sun (and you still have the other sun color for affiliated projects - why not?)

The world famous brands show us that redesign should not be radical - and it's a common knowledge for designers, that good recognizable logos should not be changed drastically. It's better to make some "tweaks" that sometimes even can't be seen without side-by-side comparison (think about Starbucks, Google, Sony, BMW, Firefox, Barbie, IKEA, MS Windows and so on).
That's why I think the logo by vmalafeevsky is the best from the list. It's a very meaningful logo concept rendered to pleasant proportions with some lovely touches like handmade lettering and few usable variations of composition. It has a nice clean design that is readable in any size and needs as few as only one color to be printed and recognized. It's not only the logo - it's a perfect symbol.


I also liked a logo with S-letter in a diamond shape with rounded corners that wasn't included to the list (can't recall the autor). But, unfortunately, like other logos it lacks originality.

Nobody knows it for sure but we hope it will.

Which current masternode and privacy coin the author thinks is not coming from those sources?

All masternode coin with privacy features are coming from dash/pivx and base from bitcoin. We already know about bitsend dev's contribution to this project. As far as I know Solaris never claimed to bring new algorithm or code, so it is not clear what he is trying to establish here. It was not also unknown to the community that MystPhysX has made the wallet for Solaris (link to post below) and who knows that he is not a part of the core team?

I think the author of this post who created an account only to post this, will be better off investing in Bitcoin, Dash, Pivx or any other unique masternode coins that he finds are writing their codes from the scratch and I request him to post link here once he finds any.

Solaris team is experienced enough to bring out good products in future. They are serious and not amateurs like most recent or new masternode coins. They are also very active and solve issues quickly. This is one of the good old projects that stands out from the rest. If you look at the supply, coin distribution and other features, Solaris can be regarded as better option than Dash, Pivx or Zerocoin, in which people can still afford to invest.
