If ppl are looking for FPGAs, I have 2 Cairnsmore for sale. They crunch 880MHs @ 80W. [WTS] add in the market place. I am moving over to LTC/gaming rigs were FPGA is not useful.

Trade-ins only apply to the future full price of 1999 according to NZhang's thread and not the 1299 price.

It seems that Avalon still accepts orders @ 1299$ though the pre-order date had passed. I am not sure if the price will remain @ 1299$. Despite how much avalon ASIC price will be in the future, still Icarus boards will have a trade/upgrade plan.

Zhang "the developer of Icarus" is developing ASIC miners each running @ >= 60 Ghash/s for US$1299. Zhang announced that any icarus or lancelot user can trade-in their icarus or Lancelot mining board for 300USD (icarus) or 400USD (lancelot) "every new 60G mining machine can only trade-in one old mining board" Source: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/avalon-asic-announcement-pre-order-pre-order-over-project-started-110090

This means that if you buy Icarus boards today @ 300 USD then upgrade the boards to Avalon ASIC @ 300 USD per board, you will then have the opportunity to mine for "2 to 4" months without losing any of the boards initial value.

You know you can buy cheaper dev boards and put the bitstream on them right?

Consider there has two XC6SLX-150 chips on the board, the price is not high.

Then the proper place to sell to is on ebay where techy enthusiasts might see them. To most people here they represent poor value.  if i owned them i would understand tye orib selling here. Try ebay with one or two asap! U might be surprised.

Thank you, I will consider that.

This thread should be in the Marketplace section, I think. Also, everyone should stop giving OP a hard time, it's his prerogative to offer his items at any price. You guys can either buy or not.

Who's giving him a hard time?!

I'm just trying to cash him out before his investment becomes worthless...

Tell you what - since you reminded me that there's an alternative potential use as dev-kits, I'll go 8 each.

You are absolutely right if you are calculating the price based on ROI in 60 days! But I am listing these boards for sale for anyone interested in more than just mining. Don't forget that these boards can also be used as dev kits. And the price of the two FPGAs on each board are why much higher than the ROI of 60 days.

BFL is not gonna ship before December. So you should calculate the ROI based on at least 80 days.

I've lowered the offer to 26 BTC per board including shipment. Please know that I wouldn't go lower than 26 BTC per board. If I couldn't sell these boards @ 26 BTC each, I would then prefer to keep them, to use them on other projects "not related to mining" or upgrade them to Avalon ASIC whenever the upgrade is available.

.... After 60 days the difficulty will go up by a factor of 10 .....

This is speculation.

Correct.  Here are some alternative speculations.
After 60 days the difficulty will go down by a factor of 10.  I soon become rich.
After 60 days Bitcons are boring.  I start to hoard dollars instead.

I did my own calculation and came up with 43 bitcoins for all 6.  This would break even in 60 days.  After 60 days the difficulty will go up by a factor of 10 and these will not be worth the space they occupy.

So I offer you 43 bitcoins for all 6.

The boards currently produce 5 BTC every 6 to 7 days. Why would I sell it that cheap? are you drunk?

see 'release of asic' vs 'fpga profitability'

It's a good deal - You should take it - 3 weeks left before they become expensive paperweights!

Yah - ok.

I'll give you 5 btc each + whatever it costs you to overnight them to me.
