I wish I could buy silver at spot + have dies made + mint proof coins + custom holograms + coin slabs included for $16.00 too. The reality is that dies cost a lot of money + minting is not free + we actually make a small profit for all the effort.

50usd & 80usd are the 'MEGA SALE!' prices... for an oz of silver...Huh

$50 for a llow batch limited run coin. Yes $50 is a great price.  This isnt an ounce of silver its a custom coin.  Custom dies need to be made custom tooling....sorry its your guys thread but the short of it yes $50 is a GREAT price for a custom silver bitcoin.

Not bitcoins!

OK, 'custom' but still an ounce (15-16usd)

(300% - 500% markup) HUGE MEGA SALE is 'GREAT'

i disagree

but feel free to 'load up'

IMO, their prices are very reasonable, especially for such a nice coin. I believe they are the first to sell a no-private-key coin and are the first to sell a coin when you can generate and add your own private key to the coin.

I just won an auction for one today (this would be my second purchase of one), and I think silver wallets are a good addition to any physical collection.

Where have I seen these before? Oh yeah...Mike Caldwell had a thread about these a few years back, he called them Casascius coins.

Why do you claim this is a new kind of physical storage when it's been around since 2011. And to add insult to injury you practically copy Mike's design with your silver and brass version, not cool!

$80 is way too steep for a brass token. I wonder how many of these you're actually selling.

He is probably just adding posts for his campaign is all I can guess. Obviously SILVER wallets would not be made of brass....

Wow why so angry.  I dont have one of these (although its on the list) but you are kind of wrong in your post.  These dont look anything like cas coins, they arent $80 for a brass token they are silver.  Give a call to the nearest mint.  Check out how much custom coins cost to make.  And as far as new kind of storage, he isnt claiming to be the first.  Not taking sides here but what is it about them selling coins gets you angry?

Our coins look nothing like Mike's and they are not brass. They are new as in something different...mike did not mainly sell unloaded coins. I always see you making snarky remarks in physical coin threads like you are some expert. If you think Mike invented adding some gilt onto silver coins you really are clueless.

If we do a gold or platinum it would be a very small run with pre orders (we would not need paid upfront, but would need a personal guarantee that you would buy).

I remember Blazed or Night Owl mentioned that they had a new design a while back, I can't wait to see it! I think their previous releases have been pretty well done. (I think the font looks fine as well, but that's just my opinion.) I love the 2 out of 3 I have, but I am a silver bug as well, so I might be a bit biased.  Smiley   Was very grateful to be able to participate in the SW sig. campaign for a free coin too.

I think a Platinum physical Bitcoin would be dope as hell, but I agree with AT101ET, I think that would be a hard sell right now unless you did an extremely limited run, and then you could get the people like Goat, otoh, bitmarket.io, etc. buying some maybe. Unless you could do a fractional Pt. coin, then more could probably afford one. I'm surprised Casascius didn't end up doing a Platinum coin after he did the 1 oz. Gold 1000 BTC coins, that would have been amazing!

Prices have been slashed quite a bit! I may try my luck in some auctions... When is the new coin set to be released? I assume it'll be silver too? Smiley

Soon™ - The next coins are pure silver and pure silver with gilt.

We will never release anything that is a worthless cheap metal (like brass/aluminum/copper/etc...). We have kicked around the ideas of some gold or platinum though  Cool

Does that mean it's a Jumpgate release?  Wink
I know that there's a market for gold and platinum but is there really enough demand that would make it worthwhile to mint platinum and gold coins? I mean the costs of doing so is pretty high and you don't really know how many will sell with whatever premium you put on top.

I really don't agree with the 'silliness' of the design that you're inferring.  I get more of a professional and elegant impression.

In fact, I think these are the most visually appealing coins there are.

Indeed. I just picked up my gold-plated Silver Wallet (turns out it's number 47), and at least looking at the front it seems quite professional indeed. In hindsight I will say that whoever chose the font to be used on the back of the coin should probably have considered choosing something else, but it's not that bad in the end.
