Eh, I have a gold-plated limited edition Silver Wallet and I don't particularly think it's that ugly. Even if I try hard to find any errors, I still can't really find any.

They are nice, I'll vouch for that. Definitely a nice alternative to other options on the market.

Thanks! I agree the font is not ugly to me, but I would not mind seeing it updated for a new coin release.

I appreciate the feedback and the research. I will be passing this along and see what they say about it. I have to agree with you that the reverse font does need some improvement.

The font on the back of these coins is seriously awful. They may as well have used Comic Sans. It's that bad and detracts from the whole thing.

Hopefully the next minting fixes that. It's good otherwise.

Hmm.. What suggestion do you have for a font then? Feel free to post something that might look better.

Most older coins around the world use Serif fonts, like for example your Garamonds, Baskersvilles, et cetera.

Here's a coin of the country I'm in:

To me this looks like ITC Modern or Clarendon.

You can say, OK, well that's not modern enough for me. Most modern coins use say some sans-serif, but not just any sans-serif, Optima is a popular one.

Here's a Canadian Maple Leaf:

New Philippine peso:

Now, the font on the obverse is a good choice. It's a rare one, I don't think I've ever seen Gotham on a coin, but it looks good to me.

But then look at the reverse. You would be hard pressed to find huge bold letters on coins anywhere in the world, in fact in my research I found none. They just look silly and inelegant, like a comic book "WAM!" on a silver round.

I actually haven't a clue what font this is. It looks to me like a hideous cross between Binner and Alons.

As if this weren't bad enough, the kerning is off. Look at the space between "E" and "R" in SILVER as opposed to the space between "L" and "V" in "SILVER".

You might think the type is not such a big deal, but given how much choice there is in physical Bitcoin (and ideed physical silver rounds, because these are unfunded you compete directly with those Wink ), I would much rather have a well designed one than a silly one. Type is the most visible part of this coin since it takes up most of the reverse.

Cool, before confirming this it sounded like the Silver Wallet had an unlimited mintage and I was hesitant to buy one due to that.  I did a CTRL+F find on the first page of this thread a while ago and searched for "limit", "limited", and "mintage" of which I found no results leading me to believe this was not a limited mintage of coins.  It was only yesterday that I dug through the site thoroughly and found the 1000 number stated.

May want to add that information to the original post as it does make them more valuable and I probably would have bought one prior if I had known that. Smiley
Thanks for the suggestion! I just added it to the OP. Wink

On the website I saw 1000 stated for the total mintage of pure silver coins, how is that distributed between the different designs?
I believe each design had a run of 1000 coins, with an additional 100 of the gold/silver made.  Each run of 1000 had the first 100 of them serial numbered, and the last 900 were just regular rounds.

Correct

Much appreciated, 2100 total is accurate?
As of today, yes.  If any when future designs come out, then obviously the number will increase.

Fixed that for you  Tongue
