This thread is awesome by the way.  So may people say its not worth it to solo mine. I just think they are impatient.  You dont make much mining in a pool anyways.  And the electricity you use is really minimal.

Why not draw a lotto ticket and see if you can win.

Iv been thinking about it and I may just do this.  As I do waste a load of money on the lottery anyways.  And coffee.   lol

You mentioned paying nothing or renew energy, soo why would someone with such potencial buy such thing that will allow to roi but wont get more then we could get with faucets or others ways to collect bitcoins?I doubt any big farm with huge low cost energy and solar will invest some bucks into those sticks instead a better equipment .

I suppose it depend on how big you're talking about. For actually big farms, they usually have sections of a specific miner since its easier to manage all the same miner than a bunch of different miners rag tagged together.

However for 100-300THs in someone's garage, whatever you get your hands on at good GH/$ would do. Me i'm even smaller than that so its easy for me to use different hardware but anything bigger than that. I can't imagine they would want to get small units or different units. Indeed.

But for solo mining, this is exactly what you should use.

well mine with usb for  is those profitable?I know energy consumed is lower then miners, but is it profitable did you made the calculation about it?

Well, its not any different to calculate than bigger miners. The math is the same. Cost of hardware/profit per day. If you get a 6 gh stick for 25 cents and you pay nothing-ish for electricity then you can ROI it in a few months. So is it "Profitable"? Yes. You will totally profit on your 25 cents once or twice over a year...

Yeah. You would need tons of sticks to make significant money but its not exactly impossible. Imo Stick miners (don,t confuse with USB, big miners can be plugged into USB too) are more like toys, units for testing, or such.

But typically USB sticks are very bad $/GH ratio so its typically not a good profitable investment.

4 GHS and still going strong, best share so far is 744425, which isnt too bad on 2 usb miners. hoping to get my hands on a u3 sometimes soon

I have an extra U3 I don't need, PM me if you want to buy it.  I can sign a message with a link to a screen shot of it hashing or something if need be.

Right now I only have 6 usb sticks going for a whopping 12GH/s solo lottery mining.  This will increase when my gekkoscience compac sticks show up.

Hopefully it will cool down here eventually and I can fire up some of the "big guns" again.  Grin

Somehow trying with a S1 here. Best share is 2,847,775. Quite far from the target.

well its amazing to know that there still exist some solo miners into the mining process, wont make you rich but will get an income ,that can turn into profit with some work.

Hey guys! Time for another update. Best share is up to 192,389,014 since last restart. I got bored with being in the 20m range for 2 days so I turned him off, waited 20 seconds, then turned him back on. 24 hours later he pulled the 192k. Cheesy

As they say in Game of Thrones, Winter is coming so after next week I'll be moving the farm to my shop, including my solo buddy. They really warm it up in there during the cold months so I'm able to work in comfort and make a little more BTC in the process.

not talking about the noise im talking about the hash ,i dont look into them already a while but i remember spondolies tech has the biggest hash miner at some 15kdollars as i remember, now i dont search for it ,sorry if im a bit outdated rigs doesnt atract me anymore, sometime ago when i thinked into get one i searching now i dont look at them.

Yes you two are both "Outdated". You are probably referring to the monster SP35  that does 5TH~... for 3.5kW. Now bitmain has 5TH~ for 1200W in a smaller unit.

And to be fair, 3 antminer S5 was still better than one SP35, size wise together they are smaller, less noise, take less power and cheaper.

bitmain has not delivered yet those machines.

noise wise is to who ever can stand the noise.

you are comparing a 1 year old machine to a machine that is not even out yet.

were is the logic in that...

You can place orders for it now and Bitmain doesn't do vaporware. But regardless i said S7 because thats the most current, but the S5+ fit the bill just as well, is already released and sold out AND also have better specs than the SP35.

Antminer S5+:
Hash Rate: 7722 GH/s ±5%

So regardless, Spoondoolies are NOT the biggest units.

Any more arguments? Smiley

you are still comparing 1year old machines to a month old or so machine, so i don't see what the logic in your argument is , as there is non...

Besides you are way offtopic.

if i had those free energy for sure i would invest deeply on a miner maybe some spondlies miners,as i know the best at the market.

Best how? They're loud, the SP20s are similar efficiency to S3. Then the bigger units are every louder and run on 240v on huge stuff. Its truly aimed at data center.

no sp20 is similar to s5 so you are way over the sea. the sp20 efficiency is really good, you can't compare the s3 to sp20 is like comparing a lada to mercedes.
