I do not think that with the official MEW site, something happened, most likely a phishing site or another virus. I am glad that i stumbled upon this thread because i am beginning to transfer from myetherwallet.com to idex just right before i read this but fortunately i didn't attempt to open the website after seeing this topic. Public DNS like 8.8.8.8 are vulnerable to attack and phishing, that's why i never used this public DNS for my internet. I hope the MEW had corrected this issue.

I think this is a virus that probably changed the URL to its own and the user entered the data itself, then made a transfer of the crypto currency to another wallet. If the theft occurred through the DNS, then you need to think about it.
