i do plan to ship anywhere in the world.

sounds good cant wait until that happens. how do you plan to substain this for a long period of time though?
after that he also said that he will be shipping only in the US for first year. And if all goes well then he will ship worldwide.

Restricting delivery to US addresses is smart.
Some countries have major problems with honest postal services, like Indonesia, for example.

Well that is not problem if we are highly interested to get it. I have seen many websites that offer similar service that re-direct your package.

mainly ads, hopefully sponsorship. i also had plans to monetize the large user base down the road but the ad block issue is kinda messing up the plan.

i was not aware of this. i wasn't planning on asking people to click on ads or offering incentives to do so.

i have never used faucets. i started using ad block at the beginning of the year. i've been using it without ever thinking about how it would effect this business model. it didn't dawn on me until i visited a site that said, nobody likes ads, we know this, but this website simply could not exists without them. please be considerate of website owners by allowing ads to be displayed. when i saw that message that's when i started thinking about it and looking in to the user statistics. i thought about asking people to turn ad block off, but i know for a fact the majority would not do that. most people don't think of others, they just think of themselves. doing this also informs people who do not yet currently know about ad block that it exists and basically increases the user base when they hear me talking about it.

Are you aware that offering incentives for people to click on your ads is not allowed and if someone reports you and this will happen you will get banned from every ad company there is?

It looks like you never used ad blocking or faucets Smiley

I use AdBlock and I can tell you that most faucets, if AdBlock is ON, just show an info that I should not block their ads if I want something for free.
Which is OK and I do that.

You should do the same in the place (website) you show the ads that get the revenue for this.

to be honest, something has come up that might make prevent this from working. i didn't wanna say anything yet but since this has been an open discussion i guess i will share.

ad blocking software might make this idea nonviable. basically, it's a browser plugin that prevents ads from being displayed. and since this business model is entirely dependent on ads, this is a major problem. big companies have been following the usage of ad blocking software for a few years and the usage has been doubling every year. for comparison, the two most popular extensions adblock and adblock plus have been downloaded over 250 million times. the population of the united states is 319 million. the main demographics of adblock users are 18-30 year olds from the united states. (my target audience) the data collected suggests 25-40% of people from my target audience is blocking ads. if the ads are not displayed i won't make any money and the current business model won't work.

its bad idea,   Embarrassed
only for usa resident
this giveaway isnt cool anymore
goodluck with your bussiness
It's not a bad idea, stop complaining. Essentially people are supposed to get something for free (nothing, as stated in the title). He said that he would only limit it for a year, after which (if everything goes well) he would do it worldwide.

only in the US for the first year. this is going to be a major financial gamble for me. as much as i want to ship worldwide, i have decided to limit my expenses for the first year until the business proves itself to be profitable.
That's unfortunate because I've seen a lot of interest from people that live in Europe. However, I do understand your position. Do what you think is best.
