The last time Soros did a move was with gold and he was right again, so I would expect something happening. I think it will take 2 to 3 years but that's WS people waited with their short positions for the 2008 crash to become rich.

It seems that what you expect to happen has already happened. From the same piece linked in the OP:

Quote
Meanwhile, Soros’s fund also cut sharply its position in gold, selling off the bulk of the shares it had bought last quarter in Barrick Gold Corp., the world’s largest gold producer, and cutting sharply its position in a gold-backed ETF set up by the World Gold Council. Soros’s fund had opened the position in the first quarter, disclosing call options in about one million shares. Soros also sold off the stake it opened last quarter in miner Silver Wheaton.

The morons in the Gold vs Bitcoin thread (and its clones) would be greatly surprised by the amount of profits Soros might have made with gold in so short a time...

If they had brains in the first place, and were given a chance to find out in the second, of course

Looks like he is doubling his short position betting for basically another collapse. Time to stock up on BTC.

Soros is a very good investor. Always worth to see what the big guys are buying.

Soros is bearish for a while now. He build a huge position in gold in the last months.

Don't forget that we may only see a tip of an iceberg, and we never know what the guys like Soros are really up to. We are given only a tiny piece of information, we don't know what his real portfolio is made up of that would reveal his objectives. I guess many would pay a high price to get that knowledge real-time (his fund for which he is obliged to disclose info may just be a veil to hide his real intentions)...

So, instead of just being uninformed we are essentially being misinformed

...

I would be very careful following Soros moves in the investment world.

First, he almost surely has already "front-run" everyone, so if he gets people to load up on his (bought earlier) positions, he is a winner.  And then he can sell to even newer buyers later on ("pump & dump").  If I remember right, he did not advertise his short on the British Pound (that famous bet where he won $1,000,000,000 in one day).

He's a sneaky guy, with no real love for anyone.

Caution.

That is true about anybody in the investment world.
They make their views public after they have made their investments. Would be stupid to do it otherwise.

Before this could happen, the bank will be saved by tax payers. No politician will admit that a bank like the Deutsche Bank goes bust.
However, this will cause a lot more trouble than after Lehman. So probably you are still quite right.

I didn't know it but i follow deutsche  closely. They are @ all time low at the moment since 2008. They are about to get fucked up and the whole world with them.

Hey, not so fast! Soros is good, but there's no direct link between the SP500 and BTC. One going down doesn't mean the other one will automatically go up.

He also shorted Deutsche Bank months ago when the price was 20% higher than now.

This man has a really good instinct when it comes to excellent short opportunities.

You better follow that old bastard's moves. They said he has been buying gold in January when the price was 1k$ (i was saying fuck off there is no way and shit) and now gold is more than %30 up. That old scumbag is a hero.

edit: ^ wtf, i was typing the same shit.

If the world economy is in serious trouble, the investors will not have enough money to invest in bitcoin, the bitcoin price will also drop.

The world economy is in serious trouble for quite a while now. Still, it's hidden so well by politicians that some still don't know that...

I think main point will be to know did he have ever played with bitcoin trading, we haven't seen much relation with gold price and bitcoin price before.

From what I know, when the newspaper gives you investing advice, you better not follow that advice.

In any case, it does not take a rocket scientist to know that shit is going to hit the fan. It's a matter of time so you better hedge against it.
