Im posting this in this section so that it will reach out directly to the admin and staff of this forum which Satoshi created. It seems like people had no more interest with BTC and they are dumping it already even if people are losing already their money. I know that this is not appropriate to talk this here but I would like to passed on my story about cryptocurrency to the new comers.

I came to know cryptocurrency/bitcoin when my friend introduces me this after the highest market price for BTC recorded. From that moment I made up my mind that this system would be one of a good form for gambling. Risking money for gain through investing. I know that after investing all will HOLD and wait for the bitcoin market price to go high. At first I was able to experience ups and down with bitcoin during the first quarter and the second quarter of the year 2018. Thus, making me enjoy more with cryptocurrency. As getting hype and interest with the system I decided to invest little by little every time market is down and selling it little by little if it gains a good market price increase. I then earn a little with that period but that was only a little amount and could not compromise the loss I made right now. It is so sad that my interest now had gone after seeing bad condition of the market and that means I quit already by selling my BTC. I still have my altcoins but I am not interested in it also and will just hold it so that if i can check back I still had hope that I could recover some loss.

The learnings and the effort for getting merits now are considered useless already. I have no more motivation to continue and enjoy the stay in the forum. However, I am still looking for something that could motivate me to stay with the system and the forum.

As I made huge losses of my hard earn money after withdrawing my BTC. This is what I would like to ask from the experts here, forum moderators, admin and staff to what are the things to consider for a newbie like me to continue and enjoy the forum or with cryptocurrency involvement? You see, I could be a representation in behalf to all investors/contributors of BTC that are also asking same questions. Is there anything else that we could expect for BITCOIN to happen?

Do you plan to make an announcement here in the forum you created? What to expect in BTC?

PS. Sorry for this post if you will find this offensive but this all because of the bad market situation.

Do not worry erikoy. A lot of people stopped believing in bitcoin, as they waited for growth, and the crypto market falls down. I think it's a manipulation. Before buying cryptocurrencies, you need to understand that this is a high-risk investment. Very funny to call for help Satoshi Nakamoto)))

The last thing we want right now is for Satoshi to turn up and make an announcement that s/he is still alive and about to start trading again. Don't you know how many bitcoins he has in his wallet?!

OP is talking about Satoshi like the Messiah. He is waiting for his comeback, waiting to hear his magic speech.
Satoshi is a genius in cryptography and computer science, but he is maybe a very shitty trader.
And yeah, he's gone forever.

ps: be happy, it dropped again since you sold Smiley

What people don't understand is, when ever you sell someone else is buying. Always ask yourself this questions before selling your bitcoin, 1) who's buying and  2) why are they buying. Most time we plot our downfall without knowing it. I was among those who bought bitcoin at ATH 2Q-3Q last year and when others were selling, I held on through the China FUD and was rewarded in few months time when price mooned to $19,000+ (I did sell but not all my holdings) now bitcoin has dropped again, selling your holding in loss it's just a foolish thing to do. All those selling now will regret just as those who sold at $3 or during the China fud did regret later in the year. Life has a way of teaching you lessons, its left for you to try decode the message.

Well, I believe that it is recommended again and again not to invest more than loss-bearing capacity. Not even a single person can predict accurately and as we all know that Bitcoin is a part of the wild crypto market and one can lose his entire capital in worst case scenario so extreme care is needed before taking any investment decision. It's not the research that fails but the greed and lack of self control cause loss most of the times.

People invest their time and money into Bitcoin for the wrong reasons, namely "speculation". This technology was not created by Satoshi, to be a profit cow for speculators and/or a "get rich quick" scheme. Satoshi wanted this technology to be a alternative payment network to cash and other centralized payment networks.

A lot of people joined in 2017 and early 2018 with the short-term vision of making some quick profits and 1 year later, the price dropped with 80% and more and they want to quit. Bitcoin does not reward short-term profit hunters, but it does reward long-term investors with balls to ride this to the Moon.  Cool

You have to make the decision on what you want to be in this experiment.  Wink

Im sorry for your losses, but world dont care about it. I mean, if someone earned huge money on bitcoin, there is another person that lost huge money on bitcoin. ALWAYS. This time you were on this worse side. But it must be this way, money don't come from thin air.
People not loosing and not dumping BTC, weak hands do tho Wink, people more stable emotionally and with bigger knowledge know that bitcoin is TRULLY revolutionary technology and they don't care about short market moves no matter if it is +80% or -80% Smiley

Good luck in whatever you choose to do now and if you ever invest again, do it seriously or not at all.

This is just a temporarly price drop and this is because someone dump a lot of bitcoin because they want to lose fiat money trace. I will still hold, this is not a problem for me, and i suggest all who have bitcoin to hold if they don't need urgent cash money right now. Hold until grow at 25,000$-30,000$.
Better to stay away for a while, the competitions of those whales who desire to put down btc still strong and most of weak holders are really been affected and being moved, but just like old timers position about this, they will keep holding till it reached back and surpassed the last time high, hope for those who already gave up, don't look back as regrets will haunts over and over.

BCH gone so BAD also. sighs

Do not compare BCH with BTC.

I will suggest you to keep an active eye on Wall observer thread. It can come on range of  $2600 also with no denying possibility of price range in $3xxx.
If you are feeling the heat than it is totally practical too offload 50% of BTC and try to buy it back when it reaches in $3xxx range.

Anyway , not sure how much BCH drama affected the BTC but Hash rate also showing downward trend. (Meaning BTC mining become somewhat cheaper and that make perfect sense to me that BTC price can drop down).
All BCH guys are dumping their BTC to support their BCH fork drama, that might be also pushing it down.

Anyways I am not the supporter of HODL policy as I mentioned in this topic. I believe in earning, spending and saving philosophy.

Hey you brought bitcoins because your friend brought a classic tale of herd mentality, you jumped in when the prices were at a all time high, and now you wish to sell go ahead but remember you have yourself to blame no one else. The last part made me laugh hard you want Satoshi to suddenly activate his account after all these years for you, for your information he stopped coming here many years ago. I don't find it offensive, I find it dumb and hilarious hopefully other newbies will not follow his lead.

You just became one of the persons you are talking about after you gave up holding your BTC. You see shaking down speculators and weak hands is what BTC and other cryptocurrencies do, this is no place for an amateur to panic and the best to stay away from a volatile market rather than try to profit from it. As for you addressing some of your message to Satoshi Nakamoto I doubt he will be responding to your concern, he has been offline for 8 years now and I doubt that he has the answer you've been looking for as he technically don't control the entire market.

You aren't going to get a response from Satoshi, because he more than likely passed away from ALS years ago. The man who was most likely Satoshi (Hal Finney...RIP  Cry) once said this

“The danger is if people are buying bitcoins in the expectation that the price will go up, and the resulting increased demand is what is driving the price up. That is the definition of a BUBBLE, and as we all know, bubbles burst.”

Hal was not only a good soul but a brilliant man who could seemingly foresee the future. What he meant when he said this, was that bitcoin's price should be dependent on it's level of adoption and use within society, not on people wanting to make money off of it....

I think that bitcoin is a weird beast though. Because I look at it like this: People get into crypto because they want to make money, but they end up staying when they learn what crypto is really all about and what it could do for mankind. Which is why I don't think this bubble will ever really burst. I think it's more like a really stretchy balloon.

This trend is mostly synonymous with day/active/short term traders, long term traders hardly ever take notes of short increase/decrease in price..
Hodling may probably be the best option at the moment if you ask me,but what if one hodl and the bitcoin hits below 3kUSD, would it not have been better to sell of right now..
This network is filled with uncertainties,no one can lay claim as to knowing which methodologies are best to adopt

Right now people who bought bitcoin when it had a higher price are only suffering from a *potential* loss. If you chose to sell at this price, then you transform that potential into something concrete and you will incur an *actual* loss.

As Jet Cash said earlier, this is actually good for the ecosystem, because all those speculators who saw bitcoin as a get rich quick scheme are weed out and only those who are actually interested in developing the ecosystem will remain.

And maybe this price drop is for the good, settling the price around $4000, and then sit there for a long time, transforming bitcoin in a store of value, not just a means of payment. And if you look at the fundamentals, with limited supply and market penetration of only 10% (according to some optimistic opinions), there is a strong foundation for secular growth in price.
