5k will have a massive sell off but it won't be until 5100-5300 if it follows the previous huge moves in the past. I'll try to sell right at the top and hope for a huge correction just after I do!

As people are still waiting, they are still ambitious for bigger profits, so they will not sell it. However, I think it will not last long.

Anyone remember Mike Tyson's words when he put those bitcoin atms out in 2015 when btc price was in the dumps? "this is the future."
Mike fuckin A Tyson, the greatest fighter of all times, called it.
Go ahead and sell.

I consider myself a hodler for the most part, but I've been slowly selling on the way up, and slowly buying on the way down as I have given up on trying to call the next top or bottom. I'm certain that BTC still has ways to go, but occasionally taking profits helps keeping a clear head. Also helps me keeping a warchest ready for when the next correction comes.

I do not think the price will reach 5k this friday. I am selling at 4300 because it is already a good profit for me and I think that is the resistance at this point.I will keep on buying and selling at 4300 top and 4000 bottom until the price breaks the 4.3K resistance level.

How's that sell feeling?

This is a question for speculators, not hodlers.
Hodlers never sell!!!

Speculators - what is your selling price? When will you take profits in this price spike, if you haven't already?

I think the price is rising much faster than many think, and will easily be over 5k by Friday.
My guess is 8k is the peak, before a significant correction (perhaps taking it down as far as 2k, based on past volatility).
So by that reasoning, and given the severe volatility likely at the peak, I reckon sell at 6k in this price spike.

What do others think?

There will be No. limit for the bitcoin's price to increase. I think that i must sell some of my bitcoin portfolio in September to facing the next hardfork as far as i know regarding the segwit 2x

That was my point.
is that september or novemeber? i think holding while price still increasing but after some correction maybe selling will be in need 6k$ would be a good deal
as for a short goal if i needed to cash some of my btc but if i can still hold i will do that i want to see more increase before end of this year.

First of all, my bitcoin stash is really tiny. I wish I had bought more coins in the past when BTC was still dirt cheap (at least comparing to current price)
We need to understand something, money, bitcoin or stashing your riches is not end in itself. I will sell my Bitcoin when I will be sure that it could change my life for the better.
Or if I realize that I need to indulge myself. Don't wait until you will be old and sour, catch the wind in your wings today.

If you are a speculator you should start selling now before there are no buyers:) Sell a portion each day or week on schedule until you are down to the number of bitcoin you are comfortable holding through a bear market.

Great! when you wake up and it's $4500 and buy back in with a loss don't say I didn't warn you. Actually you should already know because that's just how this market is going right now.

to be honest,i will never sell it for 10 years if i could because Bitcoin price will rally for more than 5 years,
so it would be best if i don't sell it.
but i can not do it,so i will sell it whenever i am in need money or cash.
there're no specific time or place to sell it because if we make a mistake, who knows what will happen ?
for example my past experience, at the first year i am doing this kind of trade, from 10 trade i made 1 mistake and because of that all of my profits are gone.
basically, most of our profit did not come from daily trade but instead come from holding.

This is a question for speculators, not hodlers.

Holders are speculators too. They are speculating that the price of Bitcoin will continue to keep rising.

I think what you meant was gamblers. Gamblers speculate on things like sports scores, stock prices, dice rolls, lottery ticket numbers, etc.

Stock, crypto, precious metal, and other commodity trading is basically gambling, not investing.

Investing and gambling are both speculation.

I have sold few of my bitcoin at around $4k few days ago but after not seeing any correction I have bought back those bitcoin at around same range and I am already in profit. I might not sell my bitcoin below $5k now and I think $5000 is just around the corner.

I am selling just to buy back some bitcoin at cheaper rate on correction.

I sold 0.1 BTC today, at 3500+ euro. 2 months ago I sold a part of a Bitcoin at 2600+ euro.
My next sale will probably be at 4700 euro, 35% increase between sales seems okay for me. This way I can take some profit, which makes the inevitable drop in between peaks easier on my mind Wink

Recently I've decided to dedicated 1 Bitcoin to a new car, if that's ever possible, that's when I'll sell that one.

The sale is not so much determined by the price as it is by the circumstances. If it is going up fast, with no signs of slowing down (like it is now), it is more likely to continue so. I think one of the best moments to sell is when after reaching a high, it begins to go down so you do not cut your earnings.

I'll only ever sell in two cases:
1. if I really need money and have no other choice (which happened recently).
2. whenever I see a fast rise and I feel that this is the top and we are close to a correction. I never sell large amounts though. it is always a small manageable amount that I have set aside for trading purposes and I sell that to buy back more, saving profit in bitcoin at the bottom.

to be honest $5000 seems like a possibility now! I wouldn't be surprised anymore if I woke up one day in the following weeks and saw it is reached. but a big correction is also near too.
