Apart from using bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies in the shops, in my country, there are nearly no people who know what is bitcoin or satoshi. Of course, I want to use bitcoin while buying something but this idea is practically impossible in the near future. I read a post in the local section of this forum. Someone has opened a shop where you can use bitcoin in my country and this is only one shop where you can use bitcoin at whole my country and nearly 1250 km far away from my home Smiley
I think we can easily use bitcoin in some countries which regulated bitcoin. In USA we can use bitcoin to buy the product of microsoft. Also bitcoin can be used for pay service in some website.
i think bitcoin is still not regulated in USA but still people are using it, may be because the government also not yet turn it as illegal activity, but it is a fact that in USA and in brazil there are some shops who are accepting bitcoin for shopping, but still such facilities are not available in most of the areas, may be because that the users of bitcoins are not too much there.

i just recharge my mobile using bitcoins and no other option is available for me to buy any thing with bitcoin. Most of the retailers dont know about bitcoins.Even if they know, transaction time for bitcoin is more and they may not show interest in accepting bitcoins.
The same happens in my country there is not much to buy in my country with bitcoin, but there are a significant amount of digital products you can buy in the forum or in other places.

So we are almost the same usage on how we are spending in bitcoins that's why every time I want to spend bitcoins, I don't have choice but to sell it with fiat. And by that way I'm thinking that I'm spending bitcoins in terms of fiat money, because it originates from the bitcoins that I got to sell from the exchange but I hope that I can use it directly for buying things that I want.

If you can not use your Bitcoin in the real world, you can try to use Bitcoin on the Internet and you will find that there are many interesting things to buy online

yes we have also  only the single opportunity that i can recharge my mobile using bitcoin,  other wise in my area not a single shopkeeper accept bitcoin  i think the only reason can be that they do not know any about about bitcoin i think they need a proper knowledge about bitcoin and they we can expect that they will start accepting bitcoin in their shops for shopping.
You have to stop thinking about walking into a shop and paying with bitcoin because it won't happen, you may find the odd shop accepting it but never mainstream because no shop is going to hold up customers while waiting for your transaction to confirm.

What country are you in?
I am sure if you look you will find more things you can purchase online besides phone credit. A lot of people including myself pay bills with btc now.
It's possible if we do not use online transaction and have our own physical bitcoin coins, but I don't think it would be possible and it's still hard for the local shops to deposit that amount or convert into fiat. Please, let us accept the real situation now, bitcoin is very effective as currency for online transaction, so we must enjoy its benefits.
There is already a company working on a similar idea:

I'm having the same way of spending bitcoins like you. I recharge my 4g with bitcoin whenever my net pack gets finished as there is no other ways of spending bitcoins for me. I don't know if slow transactions can be a problem but mostly people does not know about bitcoin that is why no one tries to use it.

Well fortunately my wallet where i keep bitcoins allow me to do a lot of things not only to recharge my phone. I can do online payments already like water and electricity bills though my wallet automatically converts the bitcoin i have to local currency whenever i use it to make all these payments. Also transferring money from my wallet to another with bitcoin just made money transfer a lot quicker and easier.

For in store purchases then bitcoin is not really suited because it is an online currency that need time to receive at least one confirmation before being considered safe.

If you really want to spend bitcoins then have a look online at what is available to you, i think you would be surprised as to what you can now buy with bitcoin.

Unfortunately, in my country, too, is almost impossible to buy goods for Bitcoin. But if you try, you can find the necessary shops.
At a time when Bitcoin was expensive, I spent it on buying some things

Although there are many people who have  enough bitcoins to spend in their daily expenses, they are still a small minority and I don't think merchants are too interested in implementing new payment systems and spending money for staff training just to satisfy a handful of geeks.  Grin

I partially agree with the way you thinking. Merchants everywhere they have as goal the profit from everywhere it comes from. Customer is the king right? So If more and more customers ask if merchants are bitcoin friendly they will happily accept bitcoin to satisfy customer's needs. In my country there are merchants who accept bitcoin but there aren't many users ask them to pay with coins because most of them use it for trading and keep it for hoarding. Moreover is pretty easy anybody to accept bitcoins and there is no need entrepreneurs to spend money and more than 1 hour more or less to train their employees. Have you ever listen services like bitpay?

In my country isn't regulated, i've already using BTC to fiat because i don't have work anymore. This is my only job and seems profitable. If i need to buy some stuff i do from another country to ship there, in other case like food or stuff exchangue to USD or national money. Bitcoin giving to me more life quality Grin
Bitcoin is better to invest in the same bitcoin. This will be the best investment for the future. If, indeed, the price will rise, I can then make more purchases than they are now.
Yes the price could always rise but it can also fall from time to time just like last week, that's why when spending bitcoin at the moment it is a little like trading because for the best outcome in your favour you have to pick the best time to pay bills and things.

Last week if you had of paid a $1000 bill it would have cost you more than 1btc but this week you would still have had some change left from that 1 bitcoin so it would have been best to spend some that week.
Picking the right time is the hardest part.
Yes, for sure we always have to pick the right time to spend our bitcoin, with the price of the bitcoin reaching $1140 I have decided that was not the right time to spend as I was targeting $2000 price levels.
But prices dropped suddenly which affected me significantly also left me regretting that I missed the right chance to make profit but the price of the bitcoin yet to make another wave to get us opportunity to spend some.

I think that many have become increasingly spend their Bitcoins, after the price fell on him. Particularly beginners probably sold it, for fear
Well, most of them probably spent bitcoin they have a way to sell it. maybe you're right, it's mostly done by a novice, especially when looking at the bitcoin prices down so far. Well, I think they might not lose when spending bitcoin they have when prices remain above $ 850, but they will lose money if they have to spend bitcoin when the price is below $ 800.
Holders the reason why the bitcoin price fell not the beginner who sold their bitcoin there are just follower of their idols and selling when they see the bitcoin price decreasing. Not because the bitcoin price fell down novice are spending their bitcoin it always depdends on the volume and demand of bitcoin.
While most of the blame can be put to the whales that started the dump, let's not put all the blame to either the whales or to the beginners. This is what happened. The Chinese people sold their coins and it has caused panic to all the other users. Price decrease affects all of us and we all want to sell our coins while the whales are not yet done selling so we wouldn't sell at the lowest price. Thus, we panic sell.

What I mean is that, Chinese people or the whales have sold their coin and it affected us. It's not their fault that you panic sell your coins. They didn't force you or torture you to sell your coins. You were simply affected by the price decrease.

I do not think that the newcomers hold a lot of Bitcoin. And so even if all the newcomers have sold their Bitcoins out of fear, it does not significantly affect the price of Bitcoin.
Newcomers are attracted because of the promising future of bitcoin and it is predicted that it will be more successful in the future which would bring the price to rise more and more. However, they must also understand that knowledge is very important, we do not just invest here blindly as it's too risky for us and we might be upset of the possibilities if it realizes.
