Exactly, last year it was almost a Formula Verstappen. But there's more to bet on: pole positions, the podium, places up to 10th, fastest lap.... So there are quite a few possibilities, just predicting Verstappen as the winner is not enough.
But I think almost everyone is hoping that this season will be a bit more varied, I put too much faith in Ferrari last year and was therefore a bit beaten, but let's see if I do better this season 😉.

I think we shouldn't expect things to be different this season. I'm really considering a comeback for Ferrari but only next season, I think they also know this and will use this one to improve their engines to prepare to compete for that.
As you say, the secret points here are in pole and podium. Everyone will be backing Verstappen so it's silly to go against that, he's the Haaland of F1 for now.

I'm very glad to hear this. It is always very nice to see new faces in the pool. I hope that you decide to join us. It is really a very low probability for you to be in loss in the pool thanks to Sportsbet.io's generous sponsorship. On top of that at the end of the F1 season in case Bitcoin price rises more it is always possible to see the prizes rising much more in dollars as well.

I hope that we have a much more entertaining pool this year. We are going to use Superbru again this year. However I'm open for other suggestions as well if there is any.

People have been talking about a possible Vettel return to Formula 1 for Mercedes - even a Rosberg return has been considered. 
However Rosberg looks like he has no intention of returning to Formula 1 from now on. He has been away from the sport for like 7 years so he might not have been the best choice either. Vettel and Toto Wolff talked to each other but not about being a driver after Hamilton's departure.
The source below says that there is a chance to see the youngster Kimi Antonelli in Hamilton's seat too. This would be really interesting but I don't know if this would be the right move as he is very young - 17 years old.
What do you think about the possible next driver of Mercedes?

Carlos Sainz can be a good choice and he would fully deserve it.He has been performing really well lately and it is a shame for him not to be in a great car.Mercedes would be a great option for him,I don't agree with Ferrari choice when clearly Sainz has performed well by winning a race in the last couple of seasons and the last season he won a race while performing better than Leclerc.I am sure he is not happy with the Ferrari decision and I think now it is a perfect time for him to go in talks with Mercedes which would hopefully be a good car for him in the future permitting him to win more than a couple of races during a season.

The first race week of this season is February 29-March 2 and it is in Bahrain. As I indicated in the OP you need to make pool payment until March 1 if you want to join the pool. We are planning to use Superbru this year as well. However if the majority would like to play somewhere else please say it. We can evaluate the alternatives.

I personally agree. It's more than $100 dollars already so I thought today I better send soon and lock it in (sent you my confirmation ID already) but I'm lucky that I have a campaign paying me like this every week. I know it's a big amount for others who won't be earning although I'm assuming not everyone in our pools are earning but I could be wrong!!
People in the past of pools always said it was a problem even with $50 lol, but I hope people cough it up, 1 whole season of prizes, big fee to prize ratio, it doesn't make sense to not join

Koal-84, mate a similar situation happened in the previous season and it was solved later on. Therefore I don't think that there would be any problem.
Last season I had really just given too few fees

You must join after kicking my ass in BSFL. Joking aside the F1 pool is really very enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend you to watch Drive to Survive on Netflix. I think you will change your mind after watching it.
Oh my! oh my!! here is another pool to waste some money on, I really would have loved to join this pool, but then I have no iota of clue about F1 race season or how is it being called ? but 100 bucks for the knowledge might not be bad, if my hands aren't way too filled already, I'll come up with a decision during the coming week as regarding my potential participation.

Thank you for the invitation, I have already joined the new pool. However, I have seen that my BTC shipment has not yet been confirmed, the fees have risen again, but I am confident that the transaction will go through before the launch.
