Making a bet on matches involving Pakistan is very risky, because they are such an unpredictable team. I am more inclined to go with South Africa. The reason is not due to excellent performances from any of the Protean players, but as a result of lack of form from the two Pakistani superstars - Shaheen Shah Afridi and Babar Azam. And today's match is a must-win encounter for Pakistan (and probably South Africa as well), because they can't qualify for the semi-finals if they lose today. South Africa still has a match against the Netherlands.

The world cup is not one single match. There are multiple matches that need to play and win in order to secure a position in the semifinals. Ashwin in anyways will be playing his last T20WC after that he will not be considered for T20I by the selectors. What he did with his bat on that day is purely based on his experience and not his performance.

The same applies to you to as you are also not making any sense supporting a spin bowler who has not yet delivered wickets. He is not a batter niether is considered an all rounder but still as Indian team management after the Dhoni era does is to keep those who have experience and lack of form. As an example just wanted to say that It took more than two years for Kholi to get back to the same form where he was on 2019. Some good steps taken by the Indian selectors after Roger Binny was to drop these old hags and start focusing on newbies for 2024.

Agreed. With three overs remaining, Zimbabwe are at 102/8. I don't think that they will be able to manage a total of even 120. If Netherlands manages to defeat Zimbabwe today, it will be the third instance in this world cup that an associate nation manages to defeat a test nation (previous instances are Namibia defeating Sri Lanka and Scotland destroying West Indies in the group stage). And Netherlands has done more than enough so far, to demand better treatment from the ICC (in terms of funding and status).

Odds look fair to me. Zimbabwe has already beaten Pakistan, and they were very close in their matches against Bangladesh and West Indies. Netherlands on the other hand was disappointing. They are the only associate team which managed to enter Super-12 (after Scotland and Namibia crashed out after showing a lot of initial promise). But so far they have performed below their expectations. If they could register at least one win against Zimbabwe today, then it may force the ICC to focus more on the associates. Although a Dutch win is possible, it is not probable.
