I believe that it’s a simple marketing trick as every time a fan sees his team play he sees the sponsors name, and eventually that name gets stuck in his mind so even if he or she won’t gamble they’ll end up recommending it to other people. Furthermore there’s also a set of fans who believe that they should only gamble at the sponsors site because they’re supporting their favourite club, and lastly Steve could tell us more too as they’re the sponsors of Southampton.
Yeah, as fans of the club we just need to support. Playing or not on sponsored sites is a choice that doesn't need to be forced. Especially if we previously had a comfortable place to play. Be proud when your favorite team gets a good sponsor.
The other way around works as well. I am personally a fan of sportsbet.io and that means if they sponsor Watford then I love Watford, if they sponsor Southampton then I support Southampton, if they decide to switch it and support another team then I would support that team, it doesn't matter who they sponsor, it could be from another league, it could be another place, all in all I would always support every single situation and that would be much better for me.

I would be even more in love with idea of them sponsoring somewhere else as well, I mean do not leave Southampton, but support a smaller league stuff so I can afford to get the jersey at least, Southampton one is too expensive, jersey is still doable but shipping costs twice as much as the jersey for me Sad.

Honestly, there aren't that many casinos that would even "like" to meet with their players neither. I am sure that there would be a lot of problems because most casinos are not liked that way, there are many complaints and problems and if they did a meetup then there would be a lot of people who will come to ask questions and make demands. Sportsbet.io is one of the few that could do whatever they want and get away with it, and that is why they are doing that well and meet with people. So long story short, there is a good chance that we could literally end up with one of the best sportsbooks of all time. They should do a meetup with british ones I believe, people like me (I am from Turkey) can't go anywhere, so wherever their biggest customer base is from (said british because of southampton so I just assumed) they should do one there.

I'm still having difficulties in believing that Sportsbet.io was established only six years ago. Sportsbet.io has got bigger a lot in six years. For years, the Premier League teams being in the first place they are the sponsor of very big clubs. They are offering quite much chance to their members too. I'm very happy also for having the honour of meeting Steve and the other Sportsbet workers. To many happy years!  🥳🎂🎉🎉

To name even one other casino on this forum who goes out to meet their players I cannot do,,, but to meet tons of players? Sportsbet should do a public meetup for Bitcoin and show everyone outside how it goes for their players. Bitcoin adoption needs people like Sportsbet. 6 more years!  Cheesy Cheesy

Is anyone following Sportsbet partners Sao Paulo and Seria A from Brazil?
They had three draws in a raw but they didn't lose a match since April, and tomorrow they play against America MG.
I think home win could be good bet, and Sao Paulo is always better in their home stadium Estadio do Morumbi.
Currently best goals scorer in league is Calleri from Sao Paulo with nine goals Wink

I used to for sure a lot,,, during the times we had Soccer Blackjack they were one of the most frequent picks Serie A games from Brazil are always full of points (corners and cards and goals all coming in last 10/15 minutes).

I have to admit I stopped following for a while now but this guy Calleri I wonder when he goes to Europe? Wink

I really don't understand how business football works. I only see if they wear the logo, all fans will follow the shirt. they have a lot of fans, and will get more cash if all get registered at the same time.

I dont see why people would blindly register an account to a sponsor site on their favourites teams jersey without actually checking it. That being said, it doesnt really matter wether a site will sponsor either top teams or a newly promoted teams in EPL because both will have just enough exposure on TV and across all media throughout the world

Yeah right a top teams would be having alot more fan base but having alot of people registering to the site and having proper customers that actually gamble on the site regularly is two different distinct things
I would guess that it’s not about "oh I am an everton fan, and stake sponsors everton, let me go gamble there then!" type of deal, sure there must be some like that as well but that doesn't sound like the main reason. I believe that people see the websites name on the jersey from all around the world even if they are not the fans of everton club, they just "see" it, and that results with them checking it, which brings in people from all around the world.

I am not saying that it wouldn't be any everton fans here at all, of course there will be some but the ratio of everton fans vs premier league fans, I believe it is more likely that it is just global premier league viewers that will come more than everton fans.

Happy 6th anniversary of Sportsbet.io

Even though I've only started a few months at Sportsebt.io as a favorite sports betting and I'm here very happy with the bet, losing and winning in betting is common but we are a big community on Sportsbet.io and lucky for those of you who started early it was a long journey so far until Sportsbet.io became big.

I have directed some friends who like sports betting on Sportsbet.io they prove to be very competitive and fair.

Stave became part of the most active forum community as its representative.

I can try to explain on example of my Croatia. Nation League is important for country coefficient/rating. For instance Croatia needs at least 3rd place, and not the worst 3rd place from all groups, to keep pot 1 placement for qulifiers. Much better to avoid all those teams like Belgium, England, Germany, Spain, Portugal...

Well do not worry you guys can beat Belgium and win me a nice bet, and look at England play they are really not the best team in the world on the pitch, just on the paper!

It can be complicated, and it's complicated even more by the fact that the leagues and the number of teams in those leagues is constantly in flux.

The World Cup qualifications are largely decoupled from the UEFA Nations League.  IIRC the top two teams ranked highest in the Nations will square off against the lowest ranked teams for World Cup qualifications, which obviously gives those top two teams an advantage.  Nations League performance has more influence on placement for the UEFA European Championship.  But, doing poorly in either competition will not result disqualification for the World Cup.

My comments in my previous post were more about which competition offers more visibility and clout.  Every team wants to win every competition for which they're qualified, but a manager has to pick and chose which he wants more.

Thanks for trying to explain but I still do not get it then if largely WC is not related then really what is the point of Nations League except for coefficient (which in the end only helps a little bit).

Top 2 teams means 90% of Nations League teams have nothing to fight for I guess?

Hope you all have a good celebration Steve and SB. Well deserved.

The difference is that, when you are with United, you get all of your games watched by people all around the world even when you miss UCL, every game they play in EPL and FA will be watched for sure. However, when you do a club like Everton, sure if they play liverpool or city or united or chelsea or whatever there will be people watching, but a game between United and Norwich got some views, a game between Everton and Norwich probably didn't.

So, the "risk" you are taking by missing out UCL would still be worth it, because even though it is the same premier league for both clubs, one of them still gets a ton more visits compared to the other.

I'm talking about new fans. You'd think the same about Liverpool, big club, big history etc. but you come to a smaller corner of the world and kids will watch the clubs during the finals, the ones lifting the trophies etc.

I remember pre-Abramovich, you'd find a couple of older guys supporting Chelsea cause of Zola. Pre-Pep City, there was no such thing as sky blue.

But in that period, more and more Chelski/Citeh shirts came to games (whenever screened) and it got to a point, if you were a Liverpool fan, you'd not find a single place screening the game because well, we weren't in any big European game. Not challenging for the title.

Trust me, if you're Everton and regularly in UCL, while United continues to be absent, United get less revenue, can't afford big stars, and after a while, you'll see more kids support the Toffees. It's just the way it works outside of England/Europe.

Saw it happen to Liverpool so it's not even something to theorise. 10 years in the wilderness, before Klopp came, now suddenly massive new youthful fanbase from Africa and Asia, especially cause of Salah/Mane, but 100% because we've been in Champions League beamed out to the most eyes.

Congratulations on 6th birthday to Sportsbet team, and it's time for cake and celebration  Wink
Sportsbet website has become my regular number one daily betting website, and I was happy enough to organize some competition sponsored by them for Championship and FA Cup.
One suggestion for the future is to try and add live streams on Sportsbet for some matches, so we can compete with other websites who already have that feature.

Key phrase is "see if they wear the logo". If a 'big club' as you say doesn't qualify for Champions League, then there're fewer people to see the sponsor's logo. The most-watched football tournament in the world, with the most people seeing it. If you're not playing it, then the global fanbase who don't have "a club" aren't seeing you.

Napoli in the 00s for example, big as you can get in Italy and didn't think they were many new kids outside of Italy wearing their shirt after something like 10+ years not playing in UCL and battling in Europa League obscurity. Hell, even saw the effect on Liverpool really on our 10-year absence.

Same, can't say if it was day 1 or not, but I know that I have been here from veeeery early days. One of the upsides (or is it downside lol) of being in crypto for a long time and being a gambler, you get to watch all the places grow. It has been 6 years already?! Wow, thats a great deal and to watch them grow to be a sportsbook that managed to snatch Southampton FC sponsorship makes my eyes water a bit. Good to know what kind of place we are looking at, they are trustworthy and have always been doing great by us. Even when they grew out of bitcointalk level and become world known global place, Steve has always been here and chatting with us. I would like to take this time and thank Steve for all he has done for us here in bitcointalk as well.

Wow 6 years Steve, what is your favorite memory?  Cool

In comments to Trofo, wiss and DireWolf.

I might not get my understanding correct about Nations League but actually even if England get relegated it does not prevent them from progressing, since the group winners are the ones who progress, could it be that actually relegation to B means they might get easier opponents? And extra chance for World Cup?

Or is it only possible to do so from Group A?

I tried to read but confuses me even more. Some reports say win or lose the tournament does not mean anything except for the cup which is like a Charity Shield.
