This experience reminded me why I hate freerols. So many all ins on stupid cards. And if you don't follow them someone else will and that player will get a big chip advantage. I guess most of them are multi accounts so they don't have any reason to wait for good cards.

I second this, I lasted 20 minutes on a table with 70% inactive players before going all in myself and losing which I actually preferred because I was more interested in watching a TV show than to continue playing.

It was a horrible experience, don't get me wrong - I do not blame Sportsbet for 1% of it and I thank them for this opportunity. However, freerolls are basically 2 hours of torture before the real game starts so I think I won't be doing this to myself any time soon.

If we're expressing opinions, I'd rather have a fixed buy-in with some additional reward on top.

Once again - thanks to Sportsbet and nothing I said goes against them. Freeroll is just a format that really does not suit me.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the support last night! nearly 100 players registered! awesome stuff.   Grin Grin

I had to send an individual email to each password request over the last few days, so I know some people don't like a 'password' being on the advert, but it may have to be in the future.

Congratulations to the winners!    Shocked Shocked

Also, Loveme knocked me out so has been given 10mbtc cold hard cash.   Smiley
Steve's secret bounty was on EFIALTIS Smiley and he was knocked out by Ricrdo who receives 5mbtc.   Smiley

Let's do it again next Wednesday and good luck this weekend with all the E-Offerings!

thanks guys, here from you soon.

regards,

Steve,

Hi all!!

Hope all is well as it can be in this situation.. But in other super super great news..

Cool Cool We went live with 2 new sports: eNBA and eNHL  Cool Cool

The great thing about this launch is that both sports have streams available for all events.

eNBA events are simulated matches where computer plays against computer. Quarters are 4x8 minutes and general basketball rules are applied.

eNHL is a similar set up to eSoccer where 2 streamers are playing against each other. They play 3x3minute periods and general ice hockey rules are applied.

Another great feature our Trading team have been able to switch in is that Multibets can be combined between eNBA, eNHL, eSoccer, Setka Table tennis events

Check them out tonight while waiting for the Bitcoin Talk poker tournament!

STREAMS:
eNHL:  https://www.twitch.tv/esb_nhl_2

eNBA stream 1: https://www.twitch.tv/botwars_tv_nba_1

eNBA stream 2: https://www.twitch.tv/botwars_tv_nba_2

More to follow on these releases in the coming days..

thanks,

Steve

Placed two bets on the eNba games and was surprised on the results of each game. Not quite the same as the real thing but still enjoyable.
Didnt see any eNhl offered at the time I placed my bets about 3 hours ago or would be placed a bet on those too.
Both my bets lost by one game out of the two on each ticket but still fun.

All these poker tournaments around the board look like a lot of fun.  I don't like throwing money away, but a good poker game is more entertainment than anything, and worth what I'm willing to spend on "entertainment."  Unfortunately I haven't found a tournament that works with my schedule, which is currently far busier than normal.

Well that's the tournament folks. I took second. GG all.
Had a massive chip lead going heads up and they managed to get 3 sets of Pocket pairs to take it down.

and that's how I ended today
Not going to lie that felt good. The previous 2 times I went up against you with a flush draw on the table you either flopped it or turned it lol.

Overall I really enjoyed the gameplay later on, it definitely ran a lot longer than I expected but it's good we got so many involved. MAybe a faster blind structure in the future... I ran into supper and bedtime lol.

Thanks again Steve and sportsbet for hosting this freeroll. I'll do a writeup with suggestions for improvement.

I am curious who the mystery bounty wound up being.

All this means is that the poker was popular so many people joined.
Its tough to stop cheating and more hard to get upset for a "free roll".
Steve said are feedback is considered so maybe they will try something next week to stop the cheating.

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.

Seen one on my table and even on 64 hand he raised all in with chips amounting 11k, I just said mindfully "wth". The other guy has A and a something high card I think it's A10 I can't remember really but I haven't suspected of a multi account until I have read this post.

If you want to play against good players buy into 20k/50k gtd, stop complaining over a freeroll.
Freeroll or not if you do care over something fraud and you're on the right mind to complain, then what's wrong with that? By the way, are you somehow a high roller? Why so eager to know the pw over a freeroll? More like you're the one guilty speaking of.

Been PM'ed by this newbie here just to know the password of the freeroll, he hasn't get any from me I still don't know if others been on same situation and give the pw and more like they are exploiting the freeroll with these multi-accounters on sportsbet platform. Hoping it will not happen again and if somehow another freeroll will be setup for bitcointalk community, I think it's for the best if sportsbet select those who are active or posted for the present week/month or even with corresponding age of the account to be eligible for the freeroll.

Steve

Thanks for organizing this Steve but there will have to be massive changes for me to even consider subjecting myself to this kind of torture again. This was by far worst poker experience in my life. Even the fact that I was doing OK before donating all my chips just now, didn't give me any sort of gratification since all my gains were trough simple chip bullying or going all in from the beginning when somebody else initiated it.

You guys remain my favorite bitcoin betting site but poker needs a lot of improvements.

Ah, but you are mistaken. I am not complaining about a freeroll I am complaining about a bitcointalk freeroll. The difference is that this one was supposed to be for our community here and I was hoping to play against familiar faces and not against brand new accounts which registered only to try to get some free money. I couldn't care less about the rewards, I wanted the experience and got slapped in the face. There are other freeroll tournaments on sportsbet and I never enter into them because I know what to expect. For this one I had high hopes and that is why I ended disappointed. It is not easy for me with wife and small baby to organize my day in a way to leave enough free time for poker tournament so I have to choose carefully.

We already have a good poker rivalry going here on the forum and I thought this was sort of Sportsbet way to try to get whole bunch of us to start using their platform instead. Well it failed as far as I am concerned and I would really like to hear if any of the "oldtimers" have something good to say about this tournament. I really have high opinion about Sportsbet and the work they are doing in promoting Bitcoin plus standards they are setting in the gambling field. They listened to their customers in the past so I hope they will listen again.

Says the guy who literally joined only because of the freeroll.

I'm also for the buy-in type from now on , that way we can avoid the people that are joining with 2-3 accounts or more.

It's quite funny how we went from 20 players last week to 97 today.

I'd prefer a lower nr of players any time instead to literally have coin flips for 2 hours ... Quite annoying when you're trying to have a nice game with the fellow bitcointalk members and you can't actually play a hand cause of the random guy shoving 9-4 each hand.

@Steve, I have a suggestion. Next time, add an entry fees on the tournament instead of holding freeroll tournament. Whatever, SportsBet wanna give should be added to total prize pool. At least we would have a professional poker that way.

+1

Till now I saw guys loosing multiple times to players who are sitting out and one guy even folded when he could have just checked to stay in the game.

Good feeling didn't last long, now I have 4 inactive players on table.

Try to make best out of situation. If they are cheaters then try to cheat them. Whenever, any of the inactive player is BB and other active players fold, make the 'call'. After flop, just make a bet instead of 'check' and the inactive BB will automatically fold. You will win the hand even with 27o.

I know that, but I want real poker experience  and not just few hours of grind before actual fun starts. Probably will not have the patience to hold until that time. I am currently 8th by the chip stack and I have played maybe few decent hands from the beginning.

It's already 1AM here and I was fed up with the slow game progress. At last, I went all in as I couldn't hold up any longer and now I am out.

Could you believe, one user even named himself 'sitout'. WTF!
