That thing you are doing in your thread is a pretty good showcase of what is possible and why it's of utmost importance to shop for odds for any ambitious betting person. But then again, no offense, it's pretty pointless, if you are comparing odds from bookies with average odds. You can get way better odds with other books than the ones you are using/comparing. This is like comparing your VW to a Smart, when there is Ferraris out there you could drive.

Do you have any (more understandable) P/L for your bets ? Any yield/ROI ? Just getting higher odds in one book compared to other books doesn't mean these odds carry any value no matter what.

As a successful punter, you will always run into trouble with limits and all those things. There is only few books out there, that are welcoming winning players. And thats just because they follow their bets and get valuable information for rather few money.

@slowdeath, spot on analysis for Watford. They're not the favourites tomorrow, at least not when I last checked the odds, so I would say that even a loss is NOT disastrous, given their string of super performances over December. I'm definitely putting them in for a win though, and probably gonna wait for a SB special to get in on the act!

Hope they don't have an eye on other fixtures though, I actually feel confident Norwich will win (and who knows even Aston Villa), but Watford should be fine as long as they see only their games and not look aroud them.

Recreational players lose longterm, so they are very valuable customers for any bookmaker, they make you the money. With very competitive odds, you attract some pro-ish players and they will just give you headaches and probably bad publicity. So what do you do ? You lower the odds to get rid of the pro players. But you can't lower the odds too much - they have to be good enough to keep the recreational players interested in betting with your company.

Those losing recreational players are not happy with losing of course, but they will always continue for either being addicted or just enjoying betting, without caring all too much about their losses. To keep them more happy/satisfied and give them some incentive to bet with you, you give them some candy. That is freebets, the price boost you were talking about, all these promos. Make them feel welcomed, take care of them, engage with them and they will be happy customers despite losing. For them it doesn't matter, where they lose their money - they will stay at the place, where they get the most candy. Give them a good customer support on top, a good UI (something which Sportsbet still lacks a bit imo) fast and reliable payouts (for their withdrawals that happen too from time to time) and you have a money (or BTC) printing machine.

Yes, I noticed that too. Nowadays Sportsbet has very average odds, so with just a small bookie portfolio, you will rarely be urged to bet there. You can find some diamonds in the side markets every now and then, but limits are pretty low-ish then.
Now by shopping for the best odds you are already more advanced than 95% of punters out there, so you are probably not the target audience of Sportsbet anyway. They are looking for recreational players, and for those people odds don't really matter.

this will be a very important game, if Watford wins this match against Boumemouth and Aston Villa lose against City, and Norwich lose against Manchester United then Watford will be in the 17th or 16th position of the Premier League... that would be the start of the rise of position in the premier league. But if Watford loses in this game then things will get very complicated for them.


I don't do odds comparisons, to be honest I have a Sportsbet.io account and I have account on  another betting site that I don't use often because don't have a "cancel bet" option (or maybe have option to cancel bet and I don't know how to use it)

What form? The season just started. This was literally week 1 I usually like to skip betting in the first few weeks and start with Australian open. If I place any bets before that they are always handicaps against paper favorits.

That being said I agree Nadal should have done better against Goffin since Goffin doesn't have enough weapons to hurt Nadal. I guess it just wasn't his day.

How have you been this week? Still plenty of sport on offer and sooo much Football its sometimes hard to keep up!

It may not have seemed like it, but I have been around for sure, mainly answering questions via PMs and working on other Promotions. Everything has been going pretty well lately, including some great results for Watford.

I have ulterior motives; one of my project managers is a rabid ManU fan, and he does get pissy when they lose.  Personally I would rather see United win the EFL over City.  I can't explain it, but I love to hate City.  I agree with LFC that Leicester probably has the best chance of beating City for the cup, so I too will be rooting for them.  

The PL is bound to be fun this weekend.  Watford can escape relegation with a win @Bournemouth and an Aston Villa loss to City, both very likely scenarios.

You are right. According to the terms and conditions in the official website, they may ask users to pass KYC.

Here is rule 3.10
"We have the right to carry out "KYC" (Know Your Customer) verification procedures and access to your Member Account may be blocked or closed if we determine that you have supplied false or misleading information."

Based on what I know, KYC is required when you trying to withdraw big amount of money (exceeding 2,000 Euro or equivalent in other currencies) if I remember it correctly and if there is no changes about it.
I was very active playing in sportsbet in the past although for small amount only and they never asked me KYC. So if you are big player then you should be ready for KYC.

I am always afraid of putting my money on the line when it comes to cups, not even just caraboa but even the FA cup because I feel like teams are not playing at their fullest in those games. Either because they send out newer talent (like Liverpool did) or they just don't play 100% with regular people on the roster neither. So, I just gave up on betting on cup games, not just in English football but anywhere in the world, it feels like they don't care enough about the results to actually give their all.

Champions league is different tho, that is considered a "cup" but teams are going all out on that, there is too much money involved with that to ignore, other regular national cups do not give that much money but the European cups do offer a ton of money to teams.
