I guess you're talking not about same Salamanca, as Villarreal lost to club called Unionistas, which was founded just 10 years ago and haven't even reached Segunda so far.
And how lucky Barca is with draw, as they got Unionistas in next round, while Real while face Atletico already in 1/8 final.
BTW, Spanish Super Cup will be played this week in Saudi Arabia - Real vs Atletico and Barcelona - Osasuna in semifinals.

Seems that most of La Liga teams had difficult time in cup. Villarreal got eliminated by 3rd division team. Most ridiculous moment that games postponed because they lost electrocity in stadium, game was resumed only today, but it didn't helped Villarreal.
Seems that Barca can't win by more than 1 goal, even playing with 4th division team. 2:3 win against amateur team Barbastro.

can't see them relegated, but they are in Valencia position from last season, near the relegation zone, but somehow sure that they will survive

obviously wasn't meant to happen

and put it on a parlay, since there was no draw in this round, except for Sociedad, that was hardly expected, and was seen as pure home win

This was best game that I saw this season. Just crazy! And that Martin goal which Girona was cherry on top. How many Atletico players were around him? Maybe 4 and he still scored somehow.
Best attack in league and very average defense and it makes Girona games so interesting to watch. And yeah, live bet on Atletico made sense, as it really looked that they can win this.

Didn't watch but I agree on stats. First half was very even, and score should have been 3-3 for not VAR or 4 goals for Morata, but 2nd half belonged to Simeone's team for sure, Girona keeper made 8 saves!! So I think even Atletico win was fair outcome but draw is most balanced. Bookies made Girona the favorite but I guess they know about good finishing while Atletico still getting used to letting in many goals.
