Life, Love and Laughter...
I spent 10 weeks trying to crawl back to the winning spots, came within 5 points and then picked up 3 points from 8 games in this round.

It's incredible how hard it is to climb up in a pool of 50 people and how easy it is to f**k it up Grin

It takes great consistence to be in the top so my hat's off to you guys. I probably ruined my chances this week.

Hah yeah..  If you can’t get some sort of momentum during the first few weeks, you’re not gonna make it.  I won the pool last year but I was only lucky to get ahead at the start.  And I remember I wasn’t the top scorer for most of the weeks, just consistent to be near the top scorer.

Yet another poor performance and result from Liverpool and the chances to finish within the top keeps slipping away gradually...

Some users were still able to grab 3 points from the Liverpool fixture, while it's been a forgettable week so far for me in the pool, I've only accumulated 3 points, from 6 matches.

Same as me and I have already lost 5 positions in the standings I am now 31 from 26th that I was.Still though only 27 points away from top ten which keeps my dreams alive.

Not as sorry as I am  Grin. Would've made the rest of the competitions a lot more exciting had they been able to get past Chelsea. No idea why Pep didn't field the strongest team. I don't buy the 'tired' excuse. It's not like they've got anything super-important for a bit as the PL is practically in the bag. Winning the quadruple should be something any top manager should aspire to especially as it hasn't been done before and I don't think they've been in a better position to do so than right now.

Yeah, same criticism as Klopp last season I think, even though I guess he knows best. Trebles and Quads don't come often for most teams, though I've to say City seem to be fighting for it many seasons now. Maybe he really, like Klopp, wanted something in the bag (for him CL, for Klopp it was the 30-yr EPL drought) which I totally get but precisely, with the title more or less won, could surely afford to risk more with such squad depth.

Think any manager that does it will have statues in the city.

Glad Leeds got the point last night as they deserved it. Real shame Bamford's shot hit the crossbar but a draw is good for me as I got the correct score on the 1-1. The only bet I have left running from the beginning of the season is Bielsa to win a manager of the month award now so I'm hoping this will be his month. If they can beat arch rivals Man United on sunday I think he might grab it, but they're gonna be tough. At least it's at Elland Road but not sure how much home advantage plays a part these days.

Have the final prizes been posted anywhere?  Or do we know how many will place in the money?  Just curious, no rush.

They're in the op. Top ten payouts only.

Probably going to let in a goal against Leeds, but am feeling up for a nice 3-0 win, what say you guys? Should sniff me right up this week's leaderboard, but really should have stuck with 2:1 United yesterday.
~snip

needed that 2:1 in Manchester as well, but they have to score a third one, didn't they
nevertheless, tonight I am sticking with another 1:2 for Liverpool, let's see what happens, have some feeling that Leeds could be up to their job tonight, and make something special

it is interesting already, and Murinho going out make it more interesting to see fight for position four, and Europa league positions as well, how will Super League (if any) influence all this is yet to be seen, Tottenham prior to Bayern and PSG is a lousy choice

I didn't think Jose deserved to be sacked. They're seventh place 3 points behind Liverpool and 5 points behind a CL spot. At least give him till the end of the season. I really abhor this firing of managers during the season or after a handful of poor performances. Do clubs think they've just gotta cycle through managers until they find the right one that will give them glory or something? It's getting ridiculous. Jose was as good as they're gonna get but they never should have got rid of Poch.

First 10 players will place in the money and you have final prizes in the OP. Very respectable amounts with the current BTC price and hopefully they will be even better by the time league finishes  Grin

That's for 34 players and it looks like we have 48, assuming everyone in the league has paid.

The total prizes will depend on how many people ultimately join, but based on 34 users joining at 0.0045 which will make the total pot a little over 0.3 the prizes will likely be as follows:

1st 0.1
2nd 0.05
3rd 0.04
4th 0.03
5th 0.02

6th 0.01
7th 0.01
8th 0.01
9th 0.01
10th 0.01

Been quite a bit of negativity from pundits and stuff surrounding Gini and other people. Just need a solid win to flush it out of the system.

Yeah, a really cool bonus to have at the end of the season. I'm 60 points off so not YET mathematically impossible, but who am I kidding, right?

So we seeing you next season, right Twitchy? Awesome value for money, the entertainment from this pool =D

Chelsea have advanced to the FA Cup final at the expense of Man City, It was really a great performance from Chelsea they literally stood up to City and it was duly deserved win for them, Imho. Extra blow for City losing De Bruyne to injury, I just hope it's a mere knock and would be available for their upcoming CL fixtures.

Yep! Couldn't agree more with this one. They were disciplined, and they were quick on the left flank, for some reason not as lethargic as they typically can be. Kante played one of his better games as did Werner -- did you hear Tuchel (I guess it was him) screaming every time they attacked down left wing, there was one point "one on one! one on one! do it! one on one!" I was laughing he sounded hoarse. One of the rare times Werner was subbed but sincerely applauded I'd say.

So, we already know first team which will join EPL next season. It's Norwich - they already guaranteed their spot in EPL, despite loss against Bournemouth today.
It was obvious for whole seaon that they have nothing to do in Championship, it's not their league. Though, it's most likely that they will fight for bottom positions in EPL. But it will be interesting to see Teemu Pukki in EPL again, Championshio is too low level for him.

Ah, I didn't realise this actually! Watford lost yesterday too after a huge huge run of wins. They are 3 wins away from doing the same. They're both too damned good for Cship... and Sheffield seems destined to go down.

Well, well, well, Newcastle can score 3 goals too these days! Perfect result for Liverpool, though of course we still need to win our game to get level on point with Hammers. I did pick a Newcastle win but wasted it on a 1:0 correct score for 13/1 haha... still, just goes to show the rest of the best in EPL will be dropping points all along the way, and we just need to make sure we profit from it.

Credit to LFC, bigdaddy and MoS to sniff this upset;)

Oh, well! It's been an horrible start for me this week, I'm still yet to get a point, I blindly went with Tottenham last night, fair but West Ham losing to Newcastle isn't something I could have foresaw.

Two boring games tonight. Will probably stick with draws. Would have backed an Everton away win but they've been shaky the last few games and not won in all three of them.
Same here, I am also sticking with draws. I just hope it will be high scoring draws and not so boring games. Just read a bit of stats regarding Brighton - Everton and if you look at those xG stats Brighton should be 10 points above Everton and the situation is that Everton is actually 15 points above Brighton. Perfectly shows how good Brighton actually plays and how poor they are when it comes to finishing all those chances.

Well I got one draw right but not the score. Everton V Spurs tonight has a draw written all over it too. I certainly can't back a winner out of them. Both had a good run looking at their last seven games with three wins in a row at the start of it then went a bit shaky with some draws and losses.

Have you made your picks for the next round?
I've made mine today. I chose a very unpopular draw between Wolves and Sheffield United. They beat Aston Villa in March, so while they've been on the losing streak, I think they'll try competing seriously against the Wolves and might manage to end the game with a draw. It's very unlikely, of course, but sometimes there's this urge to experiment and to follow the gut. Another unlikely pick of mine is Leeds United winning against Liverpool. While not likely on its own, I cannot forget how just 5 days ago they won against Manchester City, so now it seems possible to me that they'll win this one as well. I'm actually a bit surprised that only three people (me included) picked Leeds United as a winner so far, but many haven't made their picks for this game yet.

I think Wolves should beat Sheffield but it'll probably be close, maybe just by a goal. I'm hoping Leeds do beat Liverpool and could see it happening but it's not something I'd back and will probably take a draw. Liverpool are probably going to have to go all guns blazing to try grab a CL place though and since they're out of all competitions that's the only thing they can go for.

I might even be tempted to bet on a win for Blades -- they are staring down the abyss now and maybe will play not just for survival but for pride. But still doesn't make sense to predict a win as their form is dire, while Wolves seem to have found a way to squeeze something out of Traore.

Leeds win is actually more favourable odds than against City (who fielded Sterling who hadn't started in weeks!) but I'm for a Liverpool end-of-season revival now that Top 4 is a firm and sole target.

Even worse is that tomahawk gets the 1.5 points with that win.
Is anyone actually chasing toma? 😂
I gave up looking for the first spot long ago and I am sure no one else is going to have it except him. To my surprise I just check the round result so far and toma is leading with 6 points 🤣

Everyone is chasing him. Or at least everyone in the top 10 or so. Or at least should be. It's not impossible to beat him but his consistency has been impressive. I think any of top 5 can take him with a very good round or two though. I think it's going to be a struggle for me to get back into the top ten and stay there. It's so close around there that the positions will likely be changing every round. Best I can hope for a big win this season is the £5 bet I put on City to win the quadruple which is looking pretty doable right now. Also had a tenner on Bielsa to win a manager of the month award. He hasn't yet but I'm hoping after beating City on the weekend that if he manages a point at least from both Man U and Liverpool this month he might grab it. Both are at home for Leeds but don't know how much of an advantage that is given the current circumstances. They do have a fairly easy last month in May so maybe he'll pick it up then and maybe he deserves it for keeping Leeds up and doing as well as he has done with them.
