By the way arallmuus I just realized that for some reason I was assuming 8 games in the Premier League and therefore went with 21-23 goals. I have no idea how I messed that up in my mind.
Don't worry. You were correct about the number of the matches taken into account.
The question is "How many total goals will be scored in all 8 games being played on Thursday?".

Now, to win point from question number 2, you need 19-21 goals in 7 matches. That gives 2.71-3 goals on average.

Ah man, double dumb here lol... Yes, I didn't check the question again and then thought about my answer and how I came up with an average of 2.1 - 2.3. Yeah you are right! Cheesy All good then, I like my answer again. Wink

But it seems that this is not going to be a goal fest in the PL so far. Only 3 goals in 5 games after almost half an hour. Could be 20 or less.

I also went with 21-23 goals, I actually didn't consider the number games with a general average, instead, I did predict the score of each game and did the addition with I think a 2-goals addition for safer margin. I remember I had a couple of games to end 1-1 and City vs Everton was 2-0 for City in my prediction book.

It would be nice if I can grab this advantage over my opponent who'd gone for 27+

@mv1986 : we are 30 seconds apart from submitting our answers dang, this makes it very easy to check our answers.  Tongue Just wondering were you waiting for me to submit before you submit yours? 7 different answers, first to 4 wins !

German guy thinking too much about the Bundesliga... I don't like my pick too much there, but at least Manchester City didn't destroy Everton, which means that brings down the average per game a bit. 21-23 is not the best choice unless maybe two games end 0-0 or 1-0 / 0-1. I expect that is going to be either your point or we both are going to fail. Stupid mistake (unless it turns out to be true, then it was damn smart Tongue).

Are the usual suspects from any particular Division? Or are they just the same guys who lasted in last 5 rounds in last season LMS? I'm actually curious now if this is information that can be used Tongue
Doesn't matter the division, it's the players on the intersection of playing all the pools and betting regularly groups. We just can't stay away from offers like this  Grin I know I am buying back by default until last bunch of rounds. When it gets to 1 mBTC I will maybe start calculating depending on my position.

Much better feeling to open the round with correct answer, in Round 1 I had to wait for weekend for first correct hit  Grin

Merry Christmas to everyone, I'm gonna try stay up to watch some games tonight if I can survive triple shifts. I love holiday season, I always take all the extra work from lazy colleagues lol

The usual suspects will probably be the same ones buying back in. We have 15-20 people that we feel will take LMS really seriously each season, the rest will hit&hope for the best.

Wow, Kansas - 19 points spread? I don't think that anybody saw this coming, although the majority of us went with them.
My initial answer was 'No' but I asked my NFL fanatics buddy and he told me to change it so thanks buddy, I'm not a point behind.

The Gulf thing will still be tricky - Oman is a heavy outsider in the last game while Qatar is a favorite in theirs. I'll probably just hedge that one if Boxing day goals don't go my way.

Unfortunately, UAE also lost their game against Kuwait. I have never heard of this competition before but maybe the teams are not taking it very seriously.
I haven't watched the game, but judging purely by the stats, UAE completely dominated the game and it looks like it was just one of those games where nothing goes your way (in this case UAE).

I am not looking good at that question either, but at least my oponnent (ILuckyGuyI) went with same teams. Tongue

I will not be re-buying for LMS this time, good luck to everyone still in it.
Even if you want to rebuy, you can't.
If you want to re-buy in LMS, you have to do that before the next round starts. You were eliminated in round 1 and round 2 has already started.

I had no idea who was favorite for that competition. I checked some odds, which only showed favorites in the individual matches, but not to go through. If I get that point, it will be a very lucky one. We have a handfull of other different questions, will be a long week.

Happy holidays guys!
I think I just earned my first point in designers derby thanks to Kansas City win against Pittsburgh in NFL.

Most people got them so thats 1 point to start the LMS with. 2 more points to secure the safe spot in LMS. Spending the holiday by watching boxing days game tomorrow with the boys !

LMS game is over for me already, but I had a bad feeling when I get into this season with 1 correct answer in the first round... Pretty annoying.

No I didn't have a look whether you already submitted or not. I think that was the time when the game for the Arabian Gulf Cup concluded and that helped a bit to give answers to question #6. But you are right that checking answers this way is far more fun. Maybe players here should come to an agreement when they actually submit, which would make checking the answers easier. Smiley

I am cool with the answers I gave, but I'd cool with yours too had they been. All of them are close. God who knows whether 21-23 or 24-26 can be the right answer. But I didn't want to go with 20 or less as the Premier League has been pretty wild recently. At the same time I didn't want to fall for the trap and take the Tottenham - Liverpool game as the starting point for my considerations. I think 24-26 is a good call. Hoping for a game to end 0-0, which would bring me closer to 21-23 I guess.

The Newcastle - Aston Villa game is like throwing darts blindly due to the added conditions. But it's now time to get going and finally the boxing days are waiting.

It was not easy to make predictions for Gulf Cup, I saw Kuwait was host nation but I didnt expect them to win and have such a good results.
But the real fun starts tomorrow with boxing day.

After having a really terrible season in the BSFL previously I have made a good start to Division 2. It was a really fierce match against Igebotz and I enjoyed the tough victory. Smiley Now on this week my opponent is jeremypwr. He also started this season with a win. It is going to be another challenging fixture. As far as I can see we have so many different answers as well. It is going to be an interesting matchup. I wish him good luck! I hope my team can maintain a win streak.

At the end of first half Yemen were leading by 2–1 but after end of 104 minutes we have Saudi Arab as winner with the score of 3–2 while Yemen had 2 red cards in second half and conceded 2 goals as well.
Saudi Arab going to play their last game of group stage against Iraq which is also going to be tricky for both countries.

Yes, Indeed Saudi Arabia were able to overturn the 2 goal deficit to win the game eventually but it’s going to be a tough task to advance for them because they’d be facing facing Bahrain next and Bahrain won their game against Iraq.
Bahrain already beats Saudi Arab next game on 28th December Saudi Arab vs Iraq and then Bahrain vs Yemen.

Bahrain is already in top 4 due to their 2 wins from their 2 games.

Oops, that completely changes everything then, that means a win or draw would be enough for Saudi Arabia to make it to the QFs, I didn't want to gamble on Saudi Arabia since they lost the first game, but even If I picked them, I likely would have gone for Iraq as my 2nd choice from that group.

It wouldn't matter for me though, except for possible LMS point because my opponent also have Iraq / Bahrain, and the difference being UAE or Qatar.

I've also never heard of the competition before, perhaps it's its maiden edition, who knows ? It's quite interesting the number of new sports and competitions, I've heard to learn about thanks to BSFL.

26th edition, we wouldn't usually put it in the questions but Arabian football is on the rise so why not follow it a little bit? Grin

Wow, Incredible!

It seems Saudi Arabia are going to make the Bahrain and Iraq pick an easy one after all, because they're currently losing to Yemen again, aren't they suppose to be the best team in that mix ? weird stuff.

--------------------------

I have 7 different answers from my opponent, that's gotta be the most I've ever had, one of us is definitely going to be shitty, except of course if we split the answers.

cc: @cryptofrka my VAR call is yet to be reflected in the spreadsheet though, it’s not as though the changes I’ve made would save my arse from losing that question to my opponent since UAE also lost to Kuwait. I think these Arabian gulf team should stick to their business and leave football alone 😒

Done, we are a bit slow due to holidays. Trofo did the spreadsheet and I was away from the forum and your PM was to me only so he didn't know.
Everything should be updated correctly now.

I was trying to get more people to buy in actually, kinda nice to see a big pool of people all the way til halfway of LMS at least, but at the same time, of course, nice to see a lot of people drop out early. But the buyins are what made the prize really grow.

The usual suspects will probably be the same ones buying back in. We have 15-20 people that we feel will take LMS really seriously each season, the rest will hit&hope for the best.

chi20, come on man, you were reading my mind! Only 2 different answers, 1 of them is Qatar so I actually feel I've got a decent advantage considering you didn't use VAR there.
I don't really like rounds in which there's no room for error, but I wish you to have a great one. That would mean we get some big LMS points at least.
