That's actually good to know because now I can make adjustments to my game

Yes I remember there was something like that, but I was only referring to the rare case when somebody gets caught on the wrong foot by some completely unexpected event. But as I said, rules are rules and apart from the scenario you described where someone knows in advance, all other cases can't be handled as an exception as that would deteriorate the level playing field for everyone. Hence, the rules make sense and should stay in place as they are.

I don't know, perhaps I could be wrong, but I wouldn't consider the question over already the two games the Golden State Warriors have played so far are the toughest, while tonight they'll be up against an heavily flawed and defenseless Charlotte Hornets team, there is almost no better team to rack up points against that the Hornets right now, so you might want to keep an eye out for what Curry has in store, because you just never can tell.

It is not just that, it is the odds. Let's go back to Alcaraz example, he was 1.10 to win against Dimitrov. Even though I believed Dimitrov is winning that I will never play that high odds in competition like this. You are playing against the bookie and whole field and even if you win you don't get the payout that should go with odds like that.

Maybe it's because I'm not following sport that closely so I'm always going with a safe option. But I don't understand why would I risk a point by answering differently than what I think my opponent will answer. If I was safe in Division 1, maybe I would have - but then again when I tried to play it the 'safe' way at the end of last season I had the worst batch of results and ultimately got relegated.

It's just a game after all and going by the feeling is probably the right thing to do.

Not that it matters since I forfeited this round, but this was the first time in a while I thought about picking Alcaraz. How many times can this young guy afford to lose on these 'warmup' games before Grand Slams?

No use playing safe, but it's always pointless to take too big risks knowing your opponent is very sure to go the safe bet. The strategy is to draw on these things and pick the one different where you're confidently sure.

Don't take my advice tho I am winless in BSFL.

I would say perhaps I follow tennis a bit closely (thanks to BSFL), however he just happen to caught my attention some months back against a red hot Hubert Hurkacz and he put him on his toes all game long, and I've seen done that a couple of times after that, just that the qualifiers often eventually tell on these players during the main tour. I'll be on the lookout for him the rest of the season I'm sure especially with the season heading to Europe soon, he should be able to participate more.
