I'm proud of 2 questions in this round - the Kane vs Guirassy one (Kane is playing today, Bayern's got an early kickoff game on Saturday so I don't expect him to play at all) and the tennis one - Europe has the better ranked players but team World has got more surface specialists.

good questions
I tought about Kane missing game against Bochum, but couldn't force myself into Guirassy way, just to anonymus for me to pick him, although scored 8 goals so far

Team Europe has better single rankings, but there are doubles as well, and also looking at US open, seems that Team World is better fit for surface, but in better form as well, will be interesting to see will that "better information" will be brought us down by surprise
Laver cup is glorified exibition and we have seen many strange results in it over the years. Thing is Fritz will not play all the matches probably because players go there to have fun and not to win trophy. And then when it come to lower ranked players Team Europe should do better.

Must admit I am not 100% sure how matches get picked. i know I was surprised a lot of times in the past.

It would be horrible for me in case Kane doesn't play at the weekend. Because Jayce preferred Guirassy while I was preferring Kane on this question. If both of these players are in the starting eleven then I think that Kane's chance would be much higher. To be honest I don't have any idea about the tennis question. I just trusted to my instincts.

My way of thinking about Kane or Guirassy was that Stuttgart is playing against much weaker (at least "on paper") team Darmstadt. I expect them to score more goals than Bayern who is playing against Bochum who playes against Bochum who is not that weak team. Also, when Stuttgart is winning this season, they tend to score a lot of goals (over three goals in all games this season).

As for the tennis question, I went with Team Europe losing. I didn't bother with checking how players play on certain surface. I went with Laver Cup being an exhibition so I hope that the best players will save their strength and others will try to beat them. Maybe not the best way of thinking, but I'm not following tennis that much to even think about checking how each player plays on certain surface Smiley

You know, it seems logical to see the full-strength lineup last night but I made my picks strictly based on how I felt Pep's always approached games. He likes to tinker, he likes to rest players, and he likes to rotate. How many times in seasons past have we felt how frustrating he's been not using players playing well and seemingly having favourites?

So I'm down a point, and because I thought I knew Pep too well.

Woohoo Pep didn't disappoint me. Started both players despite not usually going full strength in these games plus despite pretending the whole time he wants to rest guys like Alvarez. Very important for me because I need this win Smiley

Bayern and Arsenal today, then we have to tomorrow and Friday for Europa and Laver Cup. Slow burn Smiley

I went for both to start after looking at their player availability. They don't have much choice to rotate, with KDB and Grealish being out.

Bernardo, Foden and Doku are their current wide options - with Foden being the only one that's primarily left-based.
That means that Alvarez has to play behind Haaland, with only rotation possible on right wing - options being Bernardo or Doku.

Of course with Pep everything is possible - but considering it's the 1st game and the beginning of the season, both to start was the preferred option.

One point down for me after the lineup was announced

I knew that Haaland is going to start alongside Foden for sure but I forgot that Pep loves to play Alvarez behind Haaland so I thought he wouldnt start today turned out to be a mistake on picking that option. This could have been a good start for me but I blew it oh well 6 more questions with different answers so I still have a good chance ( or atleast I hope so  Roll Eyes )

Alvarez is Pep's new De Bruyne if you look the way he plays Alvarez.... If I had any doubt of who wouldn't have started the game, I would have picked Foden not start instead of Alvarez, that was probably the only easy question of this round.

I know more 75-95% of us would have gotten the question wrong, If we had been asked to name the back four that would start the game.
That was my question and even though I expected both to start I was far from certain. Why not rest your arguably best player this season in a game against Red Star at home? Ok it is beginning of the season and both Alvaraz and Foden are young so maybe not necessary.

That question also had another variant, to name full starting 11 for City and then it would be H2H. We decided on easier version in the end.

I blame Trofo or cryptofrka (whoever was in charge of the first question) for losing the first point. The question was formed in a way that it was probable that Pep could rest Alvarez or Foden which didn't happen in the end. I know that one of you did that on purpose just to throw us off.

I'm just kidding, of course. I was switching my answer from both starting to Alvarez not starting, but after his performance last night I don't think I will ever choose him not starting a game.

You have to be grateful to me, because i put a RISK answer in the last question, putting atletico madrid to win.  Grin

I really hope to ended up winning, the people know im a first division guy.

About line ups from Pep.... never expect anything, he changes everytime.

Nah! You belong to the Division two, you're not an elite club, getting promoted to the Div 1 through playoffs doesn't give you that status yet.  Grin I only need Manchester united not to be more ass tomorrow to equalize

Real Madrid - Atletico Madrid game is a 50-50 match there no favourite.

That last-minute change for me backfired as I initially had both to start locked in and then changed it to only Foden starting.  Tongue I'll need some help from Bayern Munich and Man United tomorrow to equalize things.

And my predictions for the first round of questions on the Newcastle contest went so poorly that I only got one point.  Lips sealed

I'm also down! I spent the entire day listening to Pep's pre-match press conference only to hear him spew nonsense and do the opposite; he plainly stated that Alvarez needed some break after the international games and the league game, only to start him tonight. I wasn't expecting him to go with his best lineups against Redstar. Bayern must score two goals tomorrow to put me back to track.  If I lose this round both of us are out.   Grin

As I didn't look at Guardiola's pre-match statements at all I made a prediction like both of Foden ad Alvarez would play. I have got 1-0 ahead against Jayce by that. However in this round everything can still change as we have many different answers. Another good news has come from the buwaytress-mitchr4 match. mitchr4 have got 1-0 ahead against buwaytress.

Newcastle saved their net, although Milan was really better on the pitch, but scoreless
can't say that I didn't expected to finish as draw, but expected much more from Newcastle
I predicted that this game will end without winner, but yeah, expected something more from Newcastle, they can be happy that they didn't conceded. Disappointed that there was no goals in this game.
Also got first question right. I see that lot of my answers is different from my opponent, so, it will be interesting final round.

City starting with Foden and Alvarez, one green field for me, but also for Slissy, so we have to wait for United defense to show-up or not for second point in this encounter
five different answers, hoping to see interesting round overall, fighting to secure 4-5 spot

Depends on the thickness of the envelope for Cro2 team.
For 1 BTC you can be the Div1 winner instantly!
Corruption on the highest level!
Your BSFL logo should have mafia boss, maybe Al Pacino or Al Capone face  Grin

Hi. I would like to bid 1.1 BTC to win this season. You can give me a draw is enough. But to do that Cro2 must send me 1.5 BTC to unlock my wallet. Keep this private.
Maybe we should start special auction in forum to see who offers most coins for Division 1, maybe some guys want to sell their places because I heard BSFL is in the bull run now Wink
I hope they wont release BSFL tokens soon  Tongue

OK guys all my answers sent, and I wish everyone a good luck except entire corrupted Cro2 team and my nemesis in this round.
Damn snake-man tried to trick us all with boring DOTA lottery question, and I feel this will be his downfall.
If I manage to get in Division 1 I will hold another random celebration giveaway with cro2 team excuded  Grin

Anybody watching Newcastle game? Does not look good for them so far, Milan is a much better team and I don't know how they didn't score already. Maybe that is a chance for Newcastle to surprise them in second half.

Thanks for the reminder. I forgot that they are playing earlier than UCL games usually do. I just started watching. Come on Newcastle! Surprise them with some crazy goal!
