There is absolutely no one who wouldn't love this Newcastle Champions League competition addition, but that's such a terrific group they've found themselves not going to lie, moving past the group stage would be quite a great job to begin with, but we are here for it!

I feel very much like an asshole for not backing Shelton despite already saying it multiple times which is really weird af of me, I would have gone with him, I knew him defeating Tommy Paul was never a fluke, he was in great zone and shape mentally right now, and I would backed Tommy Paul against definitely. I really just didn't have the balls despite my concern for the overly clumsy Tiafoe.

I like this additional Newcastle Champions League BSFL competition!
With current Newcastle form it is not going to be easy to correctly predict anything, but that makes it even more interesting.

How is everyone doing in this round?
I see a lot of red color for first question, and not many members predicted to see Shelton in top 4 for US open.

Glad all of you agree so far, wasn't my cup of tea before VAR but with VAR it will be a perfect solution. I expect VAR to be used more often now as well.

The female tennis was for me either Sabalenka without losing a set (she's allowed to lose one) or anyone else at 3 or more. It's actually surprising for me that we have 2 players (Muchova and Keys) in the semis with only 1 lost set so far. Gauff is the only one with 3 sets lost so far, with my pick Sabalenka still without a lost set.
Keys will be a tough opponent though, I did not expect her to walk over Pegula and Vondrousova.

I had the same exact reasoning on this because anyone that choose 3+ set is basically betting on Gauff to win. She is already on 3 sets loss so far so it doesnt really matter anymore at this point as long as she win in the final. Its either going to be Gauff to win somehow or Sabalenka to dominate the whole tournament without losing I guess


Still 1 round to go before the final but if they actually get to meet in the final again, Im betting my round on Alcaraz this time

I was thinking between 0-1 and 3+, and decided for later, that is basically a bet on Gauff instead of Sabalenka
thought that whoever should kick Gauff and Sabalenka to the title, will lose at least one set against each of them, and they were already at one set lost so far (Muchova and Keys that are still in)

will be interesting to see how this will roll-out, but not sure that point is mine

Alcaraz was on fire against Zverev, looks that will be a great Wimbledon final re-match, as it seemed from beginning, but Novak is a bit favorite IMO

I was really, really close to picking 0-1 sets for WTA as Sabalenka is so dominant, now I have to hope she drops a set each in the SF and final... casperBGD probably has this one though.


I've thought about it multiple times but to sacrifice 1 for a guaranteed one, means you fight with a max of 3/4... you'd need opponent to get 2 wrong for a win. Legitimate strategy for a high draw chance though!

Oh and yes for early submission as tiebreaker! Such a simple yet appropriate adjustment.

Yeah, each player has it's own way of trying to get as much points as he/she can. But I never thought about doing this just to secure at least one point. I always check the brackets and answer in a way to try to get as much points as I can.

I'm surprised that Shelton managed to beat Tiafoe. Tiafoe lost only one set in all four matches of the US Open but I guess yesterday wasn't his day.

The thing that matters is that both of us had the same answer on that question so our first H2H question is a draw. We will see about the second one. You have Serbia advancing to the final and winning in the end while I have Canada advancing to the final. I guess it will be decided tomorrow when Serbia is playing against Canada.

I guess the majority were going for the classic top seed of Alcaraz, Medvedev, Djokovic and Tiafoe huh


Or probably trying to secure atleast 1 point from the bracket and by picking both of those names, you are guaranteed to get 1 point from this for sure. Its just weird to do this kind of thing but I guess some people have their own preferences in playing this H2H question ( or they probably dont have enough time to thoroughly check the bracket lol )

Regarding US Open, we already have 4 names in the semifinals only one participant managed to guess correctly @hakan2217  Medvedev, Alcaraz, Djokovic, Shelton
while the others guess the same name Alcaraz, Djokovic, Medvedev, Tiafoe there were also 2-3 participants who guessed Djokovic, Alcaraz, Medvedev, Zverev
What's unique is that they include Alcaraz and Zverev even though these two players will fight each other in the quarter finals meaning only one player will qualify for the semifinals, I guess they don't have time to check the bracket schedule so for the next round it is important to check it.

Wow I like this! You guys are doing a great job in getting us extra way to earn some money or freebets. I didn't even bother to check out the CL groups until now and I must say that the Group F looks really interesting. I hope that Newcastle can use this break to get their sh*t together and start winning because their first game is against Milan who is on a pretty good run in Serie A with three clean wins.

We are not giving away Newcastle kits for this promo because Sportsbet still did not receive them and there isn't a firm date about that as far as we know. But I am sure there will be some promos with Newcastle kits once they become available.

Dortmund is an odd ball though, they are good but could be a flop in that group however there are still AC Milan and PSG in the group. Im not sure how good PSG is with most of their top stars leaving the club but they are still going to be one hell of a team with Mbappe already being put back in the main lineup so we'll see though

Last season we had Arsenal - Southampton promo, and this season we're focused on Newcastle's Champions League run!

We will hold a side-competition throughout their CL journey, where all of us will compete together for some cool prizes!

The rules:
The competition will last for as long Newcastle is in the Champions League.
Initially the plan is to have 7 rounds - 1 round before the group stages and 1 round for every game in the group.
If Newcastle progresses from the group, we'll have 1 round before the knockouts and then 1 round per every following game again.
The questions will be only about Newcastle's CL games, 5 questions per round, the system will not be H2H but most points collected across all rounds.
The player(s) with the most points at the moment Newcastle's European challenge ends will be pronounced as winners.
There will be no Divisions, every player participates equally.
The side-competition is for current and future BSFL players - the ones that apply for the new BSFL season before the first CL game starts.

Prizes:
1. 2mBTC + 100$ freebet
2. 1mBTC + 50$ freebet
3. 0.5mBTC + 40$ freebet
4-10. 30$ freebet
11-15 - 20$ freebet
16-20 - 10$ freebet

Format:
You will submit the answers in the same way as you do for the BSFL.
It will be a separate form, and it will be measured in a separate spreadsheet.
It is easier to handle it like that - because the competition will span across multiple weeks.
The deadline for submission will be 2h before every game and you'll be in charge of checking the deadlines yourselves.

Some rules might still be tweaked a bit before the start of the CL promo. If that happens, we'll let you know.

Man this thread is popping but how am I Leicester? I'd find that a compliment, club rose from lower tiers to win the title at the top. Unfortunately, or not, I didn't clamber my way anywhere yet. Have always had the privilege of Div1, so in a way you've to respect clubs like Cro2, Woodie, Renato, who fought up from Div3 and still have a chance at consecutive promotion.

I can sense a future article talking about Igebotz manager's press conference rant a la Mourinho/Benitez showing proof of how unfairly they're being treated and a player from the club showing off a "Why always me?" shirt
