But I still think that the website's moderators are able to check the logs and verify if you changed the bitcoin address that is in your profile.
If you have your btc address in your profile page, I think that you will be okay.
Staking your address here is like a time capsule that if needed to be opened on a future date address staked can be use to prove ownership of the account. But either way, if one decided not to use this thread, at the worst scenario, if his account get hijacked, than he can just call a moderator to verify his ownership of his account.
I do agree that this thread saves some time for the moderators.
