May I ask why a signed message is needed now? I'm under the impression that its not needed. as I would only post a address which I own because I intend on signing it in the future if I lose access to my account. So why would I sign it now? unless I didnt know how to sign then there is no need and its a waste of time. Sorry if I sound rude I dont mean to come acroos that way

Because if you can't sign later don't cry if you loose your ownership of you account. On some wallets you can not sign a message and that is important your to check it before, if you think that you can sign a message later no problem good luck.

signed message is not needed now. but there are some people that might post an exchange address without even knowing that they can't use that address to sign.

try to learn how to sign a message with your btc address for your future transactions here in BCT
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/how-to-sign-a-message-990345
Thanks for the link..Just one question...How does signing from my address proves that it's my own address and can i sign with any wallet like coinbase?

Lol its easy to explain. Signing from an address proves that its your own address because you need that address to sign a message and you will be able to sign that message only if you have control of that address or its private keys.

I don't know if you can sign with coinbase or not, but am quite sure you can. You can sign a message from blockchain wallet or multibit or some other.
coinbase also have option to sign message Smiley

others don't have access to your wallet and you can generate the signature only from your access together with your btc address and yes you can sign a message using coinbase just go to "Advanced" which can be found right side of your screen under your Account Name
