@Jody.Drummer I was an addicted gambler who lost lots of his savings while gambling and especially chasing my loses, but after a point I took help and now I only play with surplus money and I advise all to do the same. Also for me a pro gambler knows when to stop, when to chase his loss and most importantly he only plays with the money he can afford to lose and this is my personal definition only.

Talking about risks in gambling, actually risks will also exist in every aspect of life, not just in gambling. If we want to always win, then gambling is not the place, even if we want to always win then life is not the place, because even in life we will not always be in the situation we want. You are right, that victory for a gambler is where he can control himself and not get carried away by emotions, it is a victory that is more than an ordinary victory.



I don't understand what is the difference between amateur gamblers and pro gamblers, is it seen from the capital they have, or what? Maybe it's true that what distinguishes it is the amount of money owned, because if what differentiates it is skill, I don't think there are any special skills that a gambler must have.
Gambling really has to be in a good mood, because the pleasure of playing will disappear if our mood is not good, maybe we will even do something reckless when playing with a bad mood

Same, I have given look to their Twitter account from time to time, and I think whoever is behind makes a good job to advertise the casino. Seeing those jackpots definitely makes one feel like testing one's luck as well, to be honest.  

Perhaps, those you have seen winning do not react the way you expect because they have not let those winnings to sink in their minds and they are going through a small positive denial phase, where they question whether it is actually happening.

You sure completely misunderstood what I meant, I personally love traveling, and when I spend money to travel, I do not consider such money as lost, since I prepared for it.
I love food, and when I spend money to eat good food, are you telling me that money I spent to eat good food is also a lost? Of course not,

I will give you an example, I need a bottle of drink, and that bottle requires I spend some money to have it, I spend the money, and then in return, I have the bottle of drink I needed, is this a loss?
No!, because i spent the money and got what I wanted, it can only be a loss if I spend the money, and end up not having the drink I wanted.

Gamblers spend money, in hopes of getting a bigger money in return, if that bigger money does not come, it is counted as a loss - simple.

Another big misunderstanding, gambling is a business for the casino, sure, but gambling should never be seen as a business by gamblers, I have a friend who quit his job, and made gambling his only source of income - right now, he's rooming the streets here with no sense of direction, desperately searching for another job..

Casinos offer gambling services as a business, that's how it should be, but gamblers, depending on gambling as the main and only source of livelihood, is a big mistake, to me, whether you agree or not does not matter.

Hikers enjoy losing money while hiking, people who enjoy rides are also happy spending their money on those rides.  People who love to travel enjoy losing money for travel.  Likewise, those who enjoy gambling are happy losing money while gambling.  I may not be happy losing money in gambling but I don't represent all the gamblers.  So it is not right for me to generalize that all gamblers are not happy playing gambling games when they lose money.


So are you saying the owner of a gambling platofrm made a big mistake establishing a gambling platform?  Gambling is part of the gaming industry thus gambling is business itself.  I do not find it wrong for people to see gambling as a business or plan to earn a passive income from it?  It is never wrong to acquire extra funds through affiliate marketing where an affiliate earn money from the wagering of their referred users.

To be sincere, it is pretty difficult for every gambler to see gambling as a way of enjoying time at all times, most especially, when the gambler have to go through several streak of losses in the process, like I always ask, is there anybody in this world that enjoys loosing money in the name of having fun or enjoying time? I think non.,

I think it is modest atleast, to sometime, see gambling as a way of earning some extra income, though not the type that is without risk, what I always advice against is taking gambling as a business, or a way to make passive  income, it is a big mistake to have such mindset towards gambling, and people who are not already rich, and have this type of mindset mostly end up living a rekted life, a life without meaning or purpose.

This is such an important piece of advice that everyone should be looking at for sure, without a doubt. We are talking about a big part of gambling which is fun, and too many people gamble without having fun and purely in stress mode and that looks like it is going to cause a lot of trouble for a lot of people.

I think it is much more important to remember that we need to have fun, if you are stressed and doing terrible then you are doing something wrong and that is not the way to go, it would be a lot better if you could simply just focus on having fun instead of making money. I personally do that too, the fun part is the most important part for me and as long as I can do that then it means that I am on the right track and all the other parts just follows that later on.

I think it is as Syztmz said before, you keep on losing so much over time ...and when you eventually win, it is as if it is a anti-climax to your daily routine. Just imagine losing $100k over a long period and then suddenly winning $60k.... you feel relieved and happy, but you know that the win is not making up for all your loses over time.

A lot of the paid streamers shows very little reaction when they win, because they know it is not their money. (It might not be the case with those people, but it is worth mentioning)

I am here to agree with your opinion, friends, and indeed, in reality, we must be responsible for choices when gambling and accept the risks involved, whether we win or lose.
In gambling winning is just a bonus and not everything because what is more valuable is the experience and learning you get while in the gambling industry.

I have a way to be able to manage finances to self-control, namely betting by having limits and all the money that I earn from work is held by my wife so that if the bet is lost it can stop immediately and it is not sustainable to make deposits.
That way I can have control myself and maybe you can apply this if you yourself have a family.

I’ve (@NastyMining) started following the Stake account on Twitter and I have been quite amused by the massive wins I’ve seen on there. I knew people were playing with high stakes but seeing people win jackpots in the millions is mind blowing. The people that win never even seem all that shocked with their life changing wins. It’s pretty interesting to see.

Every gambler, be it amateur or pro, will always want to win when carrying out gambling sessions and that is something commonplace. we all, want the same thing. like you guys said, winning is a secondary need. therefore, we get a sensation of happiness from the gambling sessions that we do.

Basically, if we want to make gambling just part of the fun. Funny you mention the 2FA generated on one's phone. Because recently Google released a new update to their authenticator which backs up the time keys on the Google account of the user, so they are easier to recover in the case of the smartphone betting lost.
Before such improvement, if someone lost their phone, then there was not way to recover the 2FA and it was a matter to deal with the customer service and ask for a reset of the account security. It is very annoying when it happens because the proof of identity they can ask.

It is more convenient now, but also less private because God knows what kind of encryption Google has applied over the keys we use to log in Stake and basically if someone manages access to our Google account, then they also would have our keys, they just would need our passwords to have full access, something to consider.

I moved over to sports betting, where I believe that betting and winning or losing all depends largely on what you know about the game, and how good you are at predicting the outcome of a match, unlike casino games where you solely have to  depend on luck at all time to win.

Gambling is a choice to play or not, of course it's a conscious choice, winning or losing is a risk that must be faced, don't play gambling if you don't want to take risks, winning is a bonus, don't prioritize winning consistently every day, after all, the real win is win control yourself or control our emotions in gambling.

Managing finances is not easy in gambling because it depends on how we can control ourselves, sometimes gambling when winning is difficult to control so in the end we keep playing and unconsciously spend the winnings again. so you will continue to lose at gambling, I also really want to feel victory but it's hard to get it, so I always play sports betting and never play casinos because it's hard to win at casinos, so I always play for fun at casinos, except sports betting for more serious bets looking for winnings. 

I'm not a hypocrite I also want to win when I gamble, it's just that it's not my main target, or exactly as you said, winning is a secondary need that if I don't get it it's not a big problem for me.
You have done the right thing and realize that your finances will be better if you don't play gambling, but if we can manage our finances as well as possible then it won't cause problems for our finances. Unless we are gambling addicts who cannot manage finances and cannot control emotions that will make us lose everything.
