Stake is bound by gambling license issuer to ask for KYC in case of deposits and withdrawals.

Please prove what you wrote.

Where is the URL link to back up your claim?
I have the document, took some thousands of hours! Wink

The acronyms "AML" and "KYC" are not even mentioned once on their Curacao licence issuer website:

Do you think it is relevant what an anonymous venture states on its website?

Do you think in Curaçao anonymous ventures make the laws? Cheesy

And BTW, any company can ask for KYC ("Know your Client" information as it is now called the old "Verify your Identity"): there is no need to be backed by an authority to do that.

And there is no obligation for any online casino company to ask for KYC if they are not bound by any rules from the gambling licence issuer.

The graphic is almost as if everyone is going to get $250. The reality : if its split between 100 people then on an average everyone will get getting just $2.5 . Sad

The Total Prize given by the company is a very common way to present prizes in every kind of products: clothes, watches, books, cars, travels, eSports...
Take for example eSports, in Dota International, Valve always announce a X dollar prize pool, but you know it will be splitted between the top 10 teams (or even more).

From what I understand when a casino does KYC it's usually for liability reasons if they get a deposit that's either very large or a deposit from a shady source address such as stolen coins, hacked coins, MtGox coins, etc.

Exactly.

This happened in the past already a few times and many scam accusations were started basically someone deposits like 10 BTC makes 1 roll and then tries to withdraw. In this scenario it seems like a sketchy withdraw so they will have to ask for KYC.

Thank you for the post. I read your scenario but am concerned a casino would ask for KYC in that situation.

For example, if the local police, legal authority or casino licence issuer requests those funds to be frozen until KYC is completed (because of a spot random check or as a result of other investigations) then that is definitely acceptable but if they casino operators are playing the KYC game to freeze funds and force customers in to sending ID just because they hold customer funds then it is not acceptable at all.

If somebody deposits 10 BTC then withdraws it after making one, two, three or zero rolls of a dice then what right does the casino have to ask for ID? If the casino is registered in a country and has a licence issued by an authority that imposes a KYC/AML policy then fine no problem, the casino website must state that policy clearly.

In the case of the scammers at Betking, its owner operator Dean Nolan registered the company in Costa Rica where a licence is not needed for gambling.

Stake and Primedice are registered in Curacao and each has its own gambling licence from there.

Cloudbet is registered in Montenegro and has a gambling licence from there.

No matter what amount you deposit, withdraw or win in online casinos there is NO requirement for KYC/AML unless the legal authority of the country your casino is based in asks you to freeze that customers account.

If an online casino asks you for KYC/AML then they are effectively lying behind the facade of "we have an internal system for detection that request KYC". Why would they lie? Well probably with the obvious ultimate goal to steal customer funds.

I wanted to give some feedback and wanted to ask what will be done to address the highlighted issues:

1) There are no GDPR (EU law) options on the website
EU laws are not applicable for Stake.

Regarding Section 6 of your TOS it states: KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER (“KYC”) Stake reserves the right, at any time, to ask for any KYC documentation it deems necessary to determine the identity and location of a User. Stake reserves the right to restrict service and payment until identity is sufficiently determined.

Could you kindly advise a scenario that Section 6 might be invoked.

Thank you
1) Illegal casinos like Stake can not have juridical valid TOS. Hence whatever nonsense is stated in their TOS, it is not valid!

2) A casino that have anonymous accounts does not have the right to ask for KYC documentation.

3) If a casino has to enforce KYC procedure by law, then they have to do it as well in case of deposits.

Stunna, how does Stake and Primedice choose which coins to accept in the site? Do you do your own diligence or are you open to suggestions from the general community? Ty.

Makes sense to use Bitcoin as the key coin. Sometimes community might push for something that is not viable for the site owners to implement no matter how much the community wants it.

A combination, we had a poll a couple months ago and have been adding in the top coins from that poll. We're open to suggestions but it doesn't make a lot of sense for us to spend a ton of time integrating a coin that isn't widely used.

Okay. I will post Burst's information sheet here for your consideration in case theres a chance that you change your mind. Ty.

Burst has the qualities to be one of the most decentralized coins because of its low energy requirement in mining. One developer from the community made a solar powered node that transmitted a transaction through radio.

I think you would get more interest if there was a issue with Bitcoin transaction fees but basically since the beginning of the year you could get away with sending a TX for only 1 sat/byte.

Most likely until that happens again most people will just stick with Bitcoin.

Even if that happens, who knows maybe the lightning network would be more widely used and gambling sites could finally start using the LN. Hence another reason not to use any other coin but Bitcoin itself.

You are more than welcome to suggest any coin here or on our official forum, but generally speaking we only choose one's with a long lasting reputation and high volume in use. It is highly unlikely we would ever consider one that was born from an ICO, for reasons that many people would understand.

I believe this condition will be allowed for sure, not just on primedice, stake but it will be allowed on every single site as long as you are not abusing the site. Of course their site ToS is going to say only 1 account but in the game it is still okay to have more than 1 account.

Yeah, exactly, even when the TOS says "only one account"; mods are being flexible and allowing more than one for those players who don't abuse the giveaways and faucet.

To be honest I cannot see any reason why anybody would want to have multiple accounts.

Not sure If I said it here before, but I have a normal account to play from my computer, and another account to play from my phone (and I do this for almost every crypto site): If my phone is stolen when I was logged-in, my main balance is safe.

I did it because one day I had all my BTC on Primedice, was playing around with the bet settings, accidentally hit "MAX BET" and ended up losing everything.

You were not the only one, that is why the "Hide Max Bet" option was added.

Thank you for the reply and explanation. Well as long as it does not abuse Terms of Service and is within fair play then I see no problem with having multiple accounts unless a website strictly forbids it.
