Insider trading (probably wrong definition) for this coin has delivered random xxxxxxx and not so random xxxxxxx (and maybe friends) a lot of money....
Too bad telling the public for months on end over and over 'It will be back online I promise' etc. has made it not believable and reliable
enough to waste/invest big electricity bills on.
But if you are in contact with the behind the scenes people and know first hand that it will be back online on Cryptsy and when it will go online you (xxxxxxx) would have a giant (unfair) advantage.
I mean if you know for a fact it will be back online, wouldn't it be in the best intrest for the coin, too REALLY go out of your way to tell the public? Or would you just repeat the same stuff you've been saying for months, and then just Mine like a motherffr for personal gain!?

What do you think?

I'm not saying this actually happened perse, but this is just a burp from a disgruntled miner...

I'm no insider, and at this point I don't think there are any real 'insiders' as this coin has no developer and no promotion.  I continued to mine this coin off and on while it was delisted from Cryptsy, as did a few others.  Difficulty was low, and mining was easy.  I just kept up StarCoins in the off-chance it was relisted on Cryptsy.

Then recently, several people starting lobbying Cryptsy to restart trading.  I had been asking Cryptsy to resume trading for months.  Finally enough people asked, and trading resumed.  Personally, I made a good chunk of BTC selling off my stash when trading resumed, as I'm sure others did too.  But only because we were mining a worthless coin for months and got lucky that it was relisted at all.

If there are any shady, behind-the-scenes stuff going on, I sure don't know about it.  I'd personally doubt that, just because there doesn't seem to be anyone willing to take responsibility for this coin.

Ok, no dev is responding.

So this coin is dead, and it really NEEDS a dev cause it has broken stake mining; a lot of balance will make it take a lot of CPU making the wallet sluggish like hell.

So this has no future. So I suggest you dump it while the prices are high.  Sad

All cryptos are FIAT digital currency. Do not use.
...So I pulled my Starcoin wallet.dat out of cold storage, downloaded the latests qt application and spent 2 days syncing the block chain. I should have around 7000 coins but my balance shows zero currently. The transactions show up in the transaction list tab, but still my balance is still zero.

Any suggestions? There are no outbound transactions, only inbound and interest. The wallet it fully synced now...

Here's a warning for anyone mining at TRIGEEK's pool: karma.hashstrike.com He and his buddy Jdubz are a couple of real asshats. They'll mine this for a day or 2 to create some confidence in the pool and then BAM, they're gone.
They were running http://str.scryptminers.net/index.php for a couple days, on Thursday night the pool stopped reporting blocks, Friday morning they "fixed" it. Then Friday night it happens again, only this time it was never fixed.
We continue mining anyway, assuming that they would fix it again. The pool got up to 6 million shares before we all stopped mining there. I personally had 500,000 shares; which in Starcoin is quite a bit of coins. I'm not gonna do the math on this but I'm guessing that there were well over 500,000 coins in the blocks when everyone stopped using the pool. We waited for it to be fixed or to hear back from TRIGEEK. But never did.

Lo and behold I wake up this morning and login to see if maybe they had it up again. NOPE!!! They moved onto karmacoin apparently. And now they have a bunch of new suckers to plug away until they decide to stop reporting your coins. If you don't believe it just follow the link to what was the starcoin pool and tell me what you see http://str.scryptminers.net/index.php. Exactly. Scammers.

Here's the screenshots I took last night.

Wow this coin is doing great!!! Cry

If you'd bought 100 000 Star Coin for 0.00000450 yesterday.
And sold them today to stop loss, given that Star Coin is selling for 0.00000350 and crashing further down.
You would at the current BTC price of 800, have made a total loss of 80 dollars in less than 24 hours....  wiiiiii Angry

But oh well right.... Roll Eyes

Getting checkpoint too old warning, is something broken? I seem to be updating blocks no problem.

That's not a problem.

Considering my pool mined 0 blocks it sure does seem to be a problem.

Works on my side. I always got that message.

OK. I'll give it another shot but can't afford to waste teh pool's hashes
