I was holding my breath because I just announced that the exchange was launching this weekend before I saw the problem announced.

Good news! Another Dream Works Grin

I came, I saw....I kicked its ass  Cool  (It's amazing what a good lunch and cranking up the Doors can do for ones thought process)

Problem solved, just had a successful coin redistribution and reclaim test. Ahead maximum warp.

New Development:

The UFC relaunch **MAY** be delayed. In every coin I have dealt with so far, no matter the hashing algo, address key pairs were created the same way using a SHA256 method.

Blakecoin, for better or worse, has changed that and uses blake256 to create the key pairs. This is incompatible with the current UFC addresses. This would not be an issue except for the redemption program.

I am currently working on changing the key-pair creation back to the common sha256 method.

More news as it becomes available.

You DO kick ass man!  Most devs can't handle 1 coin, let alone 3, lol  Grin  Hands down, one of, if not the best alt-dev I've seen!

You have my support  Cool

The only thing I can say is that probably they have not upgraded yet. Do you have many UFCs with them?

The hard part is that we are going to have another release. What's the chances that they are going to upgrade?

If they want to keep their coins they will have to right? If you think it an issue perhaps a rewards incentive?
imho I would rather need to migrate a few times to get it right, then to upgrade a failing system.

And the whole keeping on theme with the lore was very convincing.

"Remember, I am one person, handling the coin client/daemon development for all three sci-fi coins, running 3 pools, running CCE and the CCE3 project and the official developer for JKC coin!!"

What else can we participants do to help make your job easier?

"The Star Trek universe has all kinds of independent projects that honor it. Just like transparent aluminum, how do we know this isn't the origins of the federation credit system?"

I totally feel the same way about this concept! Please keep on keeping on!

I actually quite confused, based on the explorer, the biggest wallet was 400K+, no one has 500k+. This makes me wonder how btcltc stores their coin?!?!? Even if it's just a row in the DB, they need to have the coin somewhere so people can withdraw.

I'd try withdrawing some CNY or other currencies from them to test!!

The explorer shows address balance, not wallet balance. Wallets contain multiple addresses so the wallet balance is different from the address balance.

You may not have a loss yet. Depending on when/how your coins were acquired, you *might* see them back after the relaunch.

It all depends on when they went off on the unofficial fork (Probably when 1.55 was released and they refused to update.)

Any transactions after the fork, did not happen in the official chain even though your wallet may think so. There are ways of fixing that, but not at the moment with the relaunch pending.

After the relaunch, because of the nature of the redistribution system, you will have a transaction clean version of your old wallet, and possibly recover some of your coins.  Smiley

i withdrawed some UFCs for test, so most of the coins are still in my account. it is a good news anyway. thanks

Is there any technical reason that PoS and PoW can't be both simultaneously functional?

UP until recently with the self proclaimed "2nd Gen" coins, POW and POS has always worked together on the same chain.

The issue with UFC has to do with a POW difficulty bug in the base code that UFC was cloned from. The base also had several issues with its POS code, so I felt the best bet was just to scrap the whole thing and start fresh instead of having several hard forks.

The relaunch introduces a new algo (Blake256) to the Scifi coin family and will be the first time my automated coin redistribution system will be used on a public relaunch.

In preparation of the Federation Credit relaunch in the next couple of days, I have removed the UFCv1.55 github and Windows binaries.

User can prepare by making copies of their wallet.dat and placing them in a save place, then delete your current Federation Credit datadir completely.

Once the relaunch is released, all one has to do is compile (Linux builds) and run the client. Wait for sync. Shutdown the client and replace the wallet.dat with the one you saved. Start the client and it will automatically detect the old wallet, salvage the keys and make a fresh upgraded wallet.

As was planned with the Darsek launch, your coin balance will be available and fully usable. However, your old addresses, though they are in the wallet and can be used, will not show up in your address book.

KED has been very stable after relaunch!

Only UFC is POW unmineable right row. Relaunch tentative for this weekend a little before the exchange launch.

It would be lovely if UFC can launch Thursday, so that gives us the time to upgrade, sort out kinks, and trade it on Saturday. But above all else, establish a rock solid coin for this Federation.

I will do what I can, CCE was attacked today and I had 3 servers down.I am now on the tail end of getting everything up and running again.

If everything goes right, I can probably have the new UFC client/daemon ready by Thursday sometime, at least to the point were it can be tested real time before I set the final genesis block in place and start the real chain. It is going to be a couple of long nights.

Regarding KED wallet redemption:

I have 3 wallets right now, I will get to them tonight or tomorrow.

Response has been less then enthusiastic to the redemption program, So I am going to end the program the following way:

1. Wallet redemption will continue through February 21, 2014. This gives everybody a month to get their wallets to me.

2. Any KED left over up to 10% of the initial super block (285,000 * .10) = 28,500 will be given to an address that unfocus controls for promotion-prizes-giveaways etc.

3. Any KED over the 10% will be proportionally distributed among the addresses that have been redeemed.

Please send your old darsek wallet.dat files to: [email protected]

Please put the new darsek address you want the redeemed coins to be sent to in the body of the e-mail

If your wallet is encrypted, also include the pass phrase, I cannot dump encrypted wallets without the pass phrase.

If this is a concern, simply use the old client to change the passphrase of the old wallet to something else like: 1234567

If anybody has any objections, you have a month to make it known.

With all the wallet updates / bugs i have held off on downloading.. my KED are on an exchange.. is that ok? Is the wallet stable now?

Use Coinbase Account almosanywhere with Shift card
One idea is use the extra UFC as a finders bonus on a Pool Block reward is X but finder gets an extra 5 UFC also a portion can be used as part of unfocus's exchange preload.  First 100 register will get the equalivent of 5 blocks worth of coin.  1GPL, 1000UFO 250DPZ etc

Reserve for a faucet.

All of these boil down to give it away while promoting the coin.
