I rather put such fund in bitcoin and secretly keep the key in a cool place, because 5years from now, the bitcoin is going to be much more valuable than we earlier thought. Buying unproven alcoins with many promises might be a big risk hold for 5years duration.

Maybe not in exactly 5 years, I mean Bitcoin could go into another super winter (yes guys, this last winter? That was no way a super bear/winter) and then we could see extremely low prices, lower than today for several years. But I agree generally that as you pull the time frame and make your eyes go see long term, than you know today is going to be a growth pad for tomorrow. Altcoins? Use them sure if you find something useful but don't bet on them.

that is a naive question because you are contradicting yourself in the question itself. basically you say that something will remain the same price for 5 years and then after 5 years it will rise. then why would you want your money to be locked in it for 5 years without any profit?!!! while you can use that money in other places that are giving you profit for 5 years and increase your wealth drastically!!!

that is how an investment works. you never want to leave your money idle for such a long time knowing it yields no returns. not to mention that entering something only takes minutes so even if after 4 years that investment started rising you could enter it right away without needing to bag hold it that long!

I think it's hard for people to save their money that much in cryptocurrency except traders and it's not a holder. Too many people have fallen and are frustrated affected by the decline of bitcoin and eth last year and not a little money is lost.is there anyone who thinks?

For me I will be more patience because from the start I already know that patience is the partner in this industry so we nees to apply to earn more. You should take a very big risk to make your capital multiply. Five years from now the coin that you are now holding is twice or thrice on your price value.

Of course! if I know an investment that has a potential to grow in the next 5 years then why not? but I don't have that $10,000 at the moment and can't afford to take risk with that amount of money because I need Fiat money to grow my business. I sometimes think that investments are good but you need a capital to start with it and only those rich people can participate mostly with this kind of opportunity.

I believe that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency will grow in the future and it's happening now though.

Are you willing to invest USD10,000 or more in a currency which seems to be static at the moment and keep it for 5 years or longer?

You hope that, after 5 years or longer, the price of the currency will go very high.

Are you patient enough? Or could you sell the currency for other currencies when you see that the currency shows no progress after one or two years?

If that's the way it is, I prefer to invest in gold, not just static, the change in annual prices is more profitable than this, or maybe real estate. I also don't want to waste time just for a so-called "Patience" without any Profits.

If I can invest over $1000 in a coin for over 8months ago, which has done x2 since my investment but I still hold because I feel the coin is undervalued, then I can do this. I am a firm cryptocurrency and blockchain believer and it has given me good income since I joined the market

If I'm sure about  coin at least doubling in five years time than I have no problem investing in it. I'd think it as a 5 years fixe deposit. But if there's no such assurance than I'd stick with other potentially quick profit coins than long term investments for low profit.

Capital NO, i would rather uss the $10k to buy 0.5 btc and the rest for ethereum ripple and xlm, stablesp coins rarely increase in price, i think stable coins are tradrersy coin just to maitain asset when market is nose diving.

$10,000 is such a large amount for me and I can't let that amount sleep with a static cryptocurrency without that kind of small guarantee that I've something in return in the near future.

I am patient but with this kind of question, it's like you're throwing away money for something that you don't have to. And what's this coin that you're asking here? are you thinking of doing this and let that money sit around for that crypto for 5 years?

I'll do this but only for bitcoin/eth.

Please I don't really get your question. Maybe a little info to clarify what you mean by a static coin may help. Moreover, there's one thing I can tell you for sure that, Bitcoin in the long-term is a good choice to make. There are plenty of potentials for Bitcoin to make it way up in the next years ahead. So yeah, I'd chose Bitcoin over stable coins (if that's what you meant by a static coin).

That is a huge amount to start with. If you are just coming in into the crypto space or you are just planning to to become an investor, i will urge you not to deal with such amount. Instead, you can just make use of a limited amount of money to learn the basic, which will give you more assurance if it is what you truly and really need.

You can hardly see static or unchanging value in cryptocurrency, most of them are volatile and some just die. So if you see and keeping an eye on a particular cryptocurrency, you will be able to tell if there will be hope for it or none. Why wait uncertain for 5 years if you can profit from your money in 1-2 years with other currencies? You are the boss of your own money.

I think 5 years is also a lot - some altcoins do not survive even a year. You would have to be really lucky and sell after 5 years with a big profit. A year to two years is enough. But I would rather invest the money in bitcoin or ethereum.
There is a really big risk of putting more than $ 10,000 in something that you don't know will survive for 5 years. I should not have the patience of 5 years to wait and watch as the price evolves.

What do you mean by using the word "static". It's mean that your coin's price unchanged?Huh Like USDT, PAX or something like that.
I guess you refer the solid and legit coins, right? I think to make the safest, you should hold BTC.

Depends on why the currency is "static". Are the developers nolonger active?  Is the coin kept static on purpose? Is the project still viable and solid? These are things I would verify before deciding on whether to continue holding or not..

The question is ambiguous but quite simple, if I wake up I see that the token in which I invest on a long-term basis has good development prospects, I will study it initially and then I will make a decision since in 5 years much can happen and I don’t really want to risk my money.
