I don't think we can rely on the 4.7 males to 1 female member here as an accurate representation of gender ratios here in Bitcointalk. From what I know most of the members here doesn't even update/disclose such information in the forum. If not all members or at least most of the active ones aren't ticking their gender information then we only have a small number to work with and we aren't even adding the possibility that maybe female members here in the forum don't really want to disclose their gender here at all.

Probably 98% of people who put female as their gender here aren't female. Some people just put their gender to female just because it's there. If you could identify as an attack helicopter I'm sure that would be chosen just as much if not more. Claiming or pretending to be female is also often a tactic scammers use because sadly a lot of men let their guard down when they think they're talking to a woman. Who was that guy that disappear because of Alia? Nullius?

I think there's probably more women here these days than they used to be though, especially from developing countries, as signature campaigns are an easy thing someone can do from home.

This is another example of how easy it is to fool someone here (or online in general). Often all you need is a female-sounding name and people will assume you're one. It's always blatantly obvious to me when someone comes here and they're trying way too hard to let everyone know they're a female and I can spot it a mile off and what they're trying to do (just to clarify: that's not what I'm claiming lauda is doing, but rather how everyone assumes he's a female merely because of the name).

I talk to them in person and gives their social media and came to know each other.

Well someone gave it a go in their username (LGBT), and there are other animal kingdom representatives such as (Lesbian Cow, lesbianhorse). A few more tried to come forth, but made little noise about it (Transsexualxlpx, transgendertrack8, GAY $$).

Some took a different approach and created a token. There’s also a wee attempt to create an alleged coin and some sort of eCurrency.

That is exactly the point, currently the forum doesn't run a verification process like KYC that will identify the identity of the user so even if Loycev can scrap based on what they put in their profile the probability will still be very high.

Unless there will be a strong women advocate that would want to survey this one and if most of the women here will be participating we might be able to gather some good amount of data.

We know for sure that there are women in here but how about from the LGBT are there anyone here?

A lot of member aren't putting information on the gender space of the forum, it's not possible to get anywhere close to an approximate number.
By the way, female are now been more active in crypto from my local, I have met several of them online for exchanging bitcoin.
