Sticking in stablecoins looks like the most stupid idea. What is even the purpose of doing it? You dont lose, and dont earn. Wont it be easy or same to convert in fiat and hold it?

I hold only those altcoins, which price has dropped down now and I wait till it recover, or wait till their value multiplies. I believe more in Bitcoin than in altcoins, that is why I prefer it over everything else.

Market is witnessing some gradual dumps and it's a know fact that altcoins will bleed more than bitcoin and they will be stable or recover only when bitcoin recovers and pumps. So will it be wise to hold on to Altcoin or switch to Bitcoin or convert the funds into stablecoins and wait for market to either start recovering or to dump further to buy more in order to reach breakthrough for the lose which we might have incurred till now.

Right now market looks foggy. Bitcoin below 52k is not indicating bull in control on the other hand BTC is above 42k indicating bear is also not in charge. So we can say the market is moving sideways right now. It will be wise to hold a stable coin for now and let the market decide which side it wants to go first.

You can make a partial investment into news base projects because it doesn't matter about the market conditions of these projects. Close your trade with a small profit if do not want to take any risk yet.

If the position of the altcoin held is still in the green or at least the decline is not too deep, maybe you can consider converting to bitcoin, but if you are an investor then the decline in the altcoin you own will not worry you because the target is long term very different from traders who are more into the short term.
It's always my preference to convert in bitcoin but I've got some notable experience that when I've converted in bitcoin, that's what I've preferred.
But when I've checked the price of that altcoin now, I've just lost a lot of profit and when I say a lot, it's truly a lot and the conversion in today's time is more than 1 btc.
Well, that's profit taking and I've secured bitcoin when I've sold it.

When market gets really high and you feel all the fomo at a time that btc is getting to 200k then my suggestion will be convert to stable and when you feel like losing your mind and that the market is turning red like red Nile then my advice is buy the dip and possibly hold for some time and wait for recovery Most times is better to act opposite to your fear than direct to it
We must really master the investment strategy, market conditions will continue to be corrected and pumping, conditions like this will not disappear at any time, sometimes we need to hold the coins we have and there is time to sell, situations like this we must be able to create scenarios, both during correction conditions or when the market is pumping, be careful in making investments, prepare steps, strategies and ways to solve problems when there is a correction, so that our investment will definitely be successful.

Indeed, between traders and investors have different strategies,
for investors themselves they prefer coins that have strong fundamentals,
so that the coin is good for long-term investment and of course investors are very understanding about it

Generally, I don't take the risk to convert my coins to any other coin because we never know which coin will rise any day but some people do it when they think the market will dump they convert their Alts holding in BTC because Alts bleed more than BTC when BTC drops and recovers only when BTC rise again so much of the things depends on the BTC value. If you are sure-shot Altcoins will dump then it is a wise decision to convert your Altcoins to the Bitcoin or some people rely on USDT only because it remains to a fixed value so that one can buy more coins when the market dips so Stable coins is the best option when you know there will be a dip for sure.

If you are sure that the bear market has already arrived, then the best solution is to transfer your entire balance to stablecoins. In this case, no corrections will affect your balance and you will have a great opportunity to buy previously sold coins at a lower price. But are you sure that the bear market has already started?
There are also many good altcoins on the cryptocurrency market now, the prices of which sometimes rise even when bitcoin falls. It should also be borne in mind that bitcoin already has a fairly high price and even doubling it will require a colossal injection of capital. At the same time, potential altcoins easily not only double in price, but also grow tenfold.
In the current situation of falling prices in the market, each altcoin must be dealt with individually. Potential altcoins, which have now fallen in price, do not make sense to sell, while others are sometimes worth it. It all depends on their prospects.

It might be a right time to switch to bitcoin rather than stablecoin. Only at the peak level (final ATH) of bitcoin you may think about getting into stablecoin or your local fiats. In my opinion, your local fiats must be more secured than any stablecoin hence just plan up accordingly. All stablecoins that we are having right now are centralized and anything may happen to them at any time hence not using stablecoins for long term based holding is highly advisable.

Can't suggest to stick a lot in alts.
Got some altcoin that I held back in 2017 that were only for tries, but not really for long-term. Turns out it was flat-out dead heartbeat in the charts when checked 2 years after.
There are only few alts worth holding, and most of them just will dry out or going to be just a dust.

Stick to your plans.

If you were holding a bitcoin only strategy, then stick to that. But if you were already in alts, then stick to that as well.

Eventually the crypto market will reward you, it's just a matter of time. But hyperactive trading can result in a ton of fees that will be almost impossible to recoup.

it depends on your goal mate, if you are in a good alt projects and you see it very optimistic then must hold,  in fact not all the time when bitcoin is crashing alts were doing the same as well, because you know sometimes alts is green as well while bitcoin ia red.. Be practical and make research first or technical and fundamental analysis maybe a good idea to figure it out which is a good option to keep holding.
I think if you are investing into potential projects, then there's no need to worry as most will also pump when bitcoin recovers. But if you are doubting, then this would be a perfect time to add more bitcoin in your portfolio since the price is still in slump.

However, investing in bitcoin will always have more guarantee to make profits compared to altcoins. But since its your own money and investment, you should better create your own wise decision and not just rely on others.

Gamble responsibly
My biggest investment is bitcoin, it used to be as high as 70% but slowly and gradually I changed that, now it is more like 30-35% of my portfolio, second biggest is ETH with around 20%, a bit over nowadays, and so forth with over 10 different coins with the smallest only being 1-3% of my portfolio.
Why changing that? I have my 70% of my investment on bitcoin and it is quite good for me. The remaining 30% on altcoins. Is there any good reason you are changing? As for me, I am not changing this yet, I have gained a lot of money from investing on bitcoin and this will not make me change. I gained also from altcoins, but what I noticed was that some increased than bitcoin but some of them just moved like bitcoin and some did not even increased up to bitcoin, some remain as shitcoins while some are now dead. I still prefer most of my investment to be in bitcoin.

Why not do a bit of both? As many people will suggest that you could have bitcoin, you could have stablecoins and you could have altcoins as well. I personally own all of them at the same time.

Meanwhile I have 500 dollars saved aside in BUSD just in case, that is there so that I could invest into something I see as undervalued anytime I want, it is not an investment to hold BUSD for me, it is just a way to be ready to buy as soon as possible whenever I see something. So all in all, you could own all three of them and be fine with it.

Altcoins are risk on assets. Bitcoin is the safe haven. If you want to preserve your wealth, stay with bitcoin. If you are after fat gains, then go with the alts.

Alts usually tend to outperform bitcoin during the bull runs. Not all of them though. ETH did quite well against BTC lately for example. If you can find the next ETH, you'll be rich beyond your imagination.
The point is it is still possible to do it simultaneously, I think you can maintain altcoins and bitcoins in market conditions like this, if you find a new ATH moment in altcoins, of course it can also provide promising investment returns, I think both are good to maintain for now, let's wait early next year, whether bitcoin pumped or even altcoins.

Some alts will recover when the market is back, if you are holding some of the top alts rest assured they will recover back when the market is looking good again, but if you want you can exchange to btc or stablecoins.  however, there is a possibility the market won't go any lower than already is, you may end up buying higher if the market the go below as you expect it.

Some alts will recover and make new ATH, that is what happened before and will happen again, simply some alts are here to stay! We all know there are Bitcoin maximalists, there are people who choose Ethereum over other smart contracts, but there are people who are trying to be open-minded and to support other projects! I think whatever someone chooses it's ok, in my case I am trying to diversify and I have many coins and tokens! Who knows what is waiting for us, crypto is full of surprises!
