Like most people, I think that STO projects as a whole have a future. But it seems to me that the ICO as a whole is successful in today's time. Probably now there are big projects that still collect sufficient funds for implementation.

The main difference about ICO and STO is the type of the coin / tokens they released.
ICO usually creates the utility type token for their platform, it can be used by their product ecosystem later.
STO creates the security token, so the investors can get the profit share of the company.

I believe STO will do far better than ICO and so I prefer STOs to ICOs many ICO are tricky and have failed badly. They steal from people and list it's tokens below ICO prices and tell investors that it is a utility token and  the market decides the price. ICO has come with many errors which the STO will help correct

In my opinion, the biggest difference between STO and ICO is that investors will be protected and not lose when investing in STO.

The main difference between ICO and STO is that ICO tokes are almost like cryptocurrency and STO tokens are more like "electronic" shares from stock exchange.
For me more important is idea nad team behind project than the type of platform.
I also read that STO is tokenized shares, but I have little idea how it all works at the fundraising and ICO stage, and most importantly, tokens are paid to the bounty hunters in this case or not? If so, then there will probably be different platforms, different forms of payment, in general, this is all new and again complicated and confusing. I still prefer the old ERC-20.

After the frauds and failures that dominated the ICOs market
The STO, with its better safety, will be the best investment
But overall, the quality of the project and confidence in the team may make me choose ICO again.

STO offers more favorable conditions for investors. They give what is not present in the ICO. I do not know whether it will also be popular, but I still hope that the ICO will be able to regain its trust.

It doesnt matter for me really or it should not matter to all of us.

We should be taking care of ourselves when it comes to investing with this types of risky methods.
Your hard earned money will be delivered to someone you dont really know and you only have their whitepaper, roadmap and vision to rely to for assurance.
Better make it worth the price.
Go deep into researching first, ICO or STO wont matter.

Would you rather invest in an ICO or an STO?  Huh
A good and honest team will also be able to offer a good ICO, business model of their idea is important and the team itself. No need of STO but being transparent. There were very good ICO also in the past without STO.

Scammers will always go the easiest way and if the team is required to get a license for ICO it would help to stop scams.
You really correctly said, because in what two directions the only difference is in reducing hazards, and not as the very idea of the project that the teams are trying to implement. If the team obtain a license for ico companies, this will add confidence to investors.

The difference between both of them is the amount of getting the perfect if you are invested in the STO it will give the share for you while your investment is growing but ICO different from that if it was been valuable you can get the profit forever investment.

At this moment, when new STOs are coming out, it is important to understand the difference between ICOs and STOs.
STO is a token offering that is similar to an ICO, but the main difference is that STOs are regulated.

STOs have become so popular because over the past four years, approximately, pretty much every ICO failed to maintain at least one of the five promises that I call success criteria.  Roll Eyes

1. Most ICOs failed to attract enough investment.
2. The majority of ICOs failed to maintain a stable price of the coin or to increase the value of the coin, and so it dropped dramatically.
3. Some of ICOs failed to return the money to the investors.
4. Many ICOs failed to be able to produce the software technology or the ecosystem that they promised during fundraising.
5. Almost all of them eventually failed to be profitable.

"I would compare ICO to vinyl discs, and STO to music cassettes. After the music cassettes, there were CDs and DVDs then the MP3, then Spotify." - Stefano Virgilli.

if you think that sto will make a real revolution in the development of new projects, then the first problems that must be solved is the absence of scammers and the corresponding interest of investors in really promising projects. Of course you need to give examples of the success of sto, in contrast to the company's ico.

The main diffrence is that STOs should be more regulated and more safe for investors because they are investing into legit company.
But I think that it is not working as we think. Most of STOs became scams.   Roll Eyes

Despite i hate goverments and regulation, taking in mind the huge amount of scams in the industry, i must admit that some control in crypto is absolutely mandatory.. we need to recover trust of investors, and STO will be the right path to achieve it.

The main difference is regulation. However, STOs have the exact same economic risks, so be careful at all times.
If its regulated then the risk is much lower compare to ICO. STOs are growing now and many investors already shows the support but I don’t think ICO will die soon because of this, its either it will improve or it will be totally replace. Since on STO you are acknowledge as part of the company, I think this is really better compare to ICO so I would also go for STO especially right now that ICO is not good to invest.

In sto you are a shareholder, you are getting share of your profit if company make some.

In ico, you have utility tokens that have value in the ecosystem. And even if that ecosystem get used a lot, that doesn't mean tokens will be valuable. So i would always choose sto's.
you are absolutely right the investment and STO will give the profits in like a shower system whenever the company that you are invested we getting profit you had a shower also but ICO is like more of getting the profit for your investment in a single time.

I agree that ICO is difficult to survive, this is because there is no regulation as a standard.
everyone can make ico and raise funds. The victims are their investors losing a lot of money because some ICOs are difficult to reach reasonable prices.
there is no reason to hold.
