Personally using xapo wallet and I am satisfied. But I think that blockchain.info one of the most good web wallets as u can get private keys from your wallet (in xapo I can't).  Smiley
After blockchain.info changed to HD version, we can't see the private key. I think we must use many web wallet to save our bitcoin. No one web wallet guarantee that our bitcoin is full secure. Always get news update about the best recommended web wallet from bitcoin.org.

All web wallets are secured based on their technical aspects but of course in our own preferences, we are not to take those securities of them to take care of our coins.

The primarily used of web wallets in my case is just to use their service since no doubt they have some services that can bring convenient to the customers. But I will exclude blockchain.info to that since they are primarily for bitcoin storage services purposes. And now that you guys mentioned that we aren't able to hold our own private keys then it's no sense at all to use that web wallet.

Xapo is definitely a higher risk but blockchain.info is no longer giving private keys to users since they upgraded to HD and removed legacy one. Its possible to get them but the method is not newbie-friendly and If you don't know what you are doing , you could screw things up.

btc.com co-signs your transaction because we are a multi-sig wallet, you always have two keys. So you are always safe
Xapo and Coibase are both multisignanture wallets as well. yet people are complaining about their restrictive TOS rules, suspended accounts, frozen funds everyday.
I am not familiar with BTC.com level of invigilation, but I expect they are monitoring every transaction as well.

Why do you expect that? We don't monitor anything, ever, at all. We don't want to.

Your bitcoin is always safe with us because you ALWAYS have TWO KEYS. ( we have a 2 out of 3 multi signature set up)

You probably don't know how multisignature works. In a perfect world, multi signature wallet should give the user the full authority to do whatever they want. Done by providing at least n keys (if n-of-m keys are needed for multisig).

Coinbase and Xapo both doesn't do this and they hence still have full control over your address.

But, with it being an online wallet, it probably still isn't all that safe. You are giving up your privacy for online wallets as well.

I don't understand why I must stop using Blockchain.info, I read all posts there but can't find any big reason make me do that, I'm using it 5 years and never had any problems before, just for me Blockchain.info is  best wallet today
The reason to use it is for only making small transfers to your main wallet. Nothing more.
I would like to think the creators of it 5 years ago just wanted to create something so people have something to do quick and fast transfers on the go not to keep or make large transactions with.

They have been advertising on their wallet they optimize your sends transactions fee to align with the amount being sent.
I have been always using the advanced function so I dont know why they see this as a feature to be promoting.

Honestly , I have to say that some members here have some trust issues or are simply paranoid. I was simply giving a friendly advice and some people lost their minds. If you don't want to follow my advice Its fine , just don't post on this thread .
I have nothing against blockchain.info but they do have issues whether you like it or not , simply don't cry If you lose your coins somehow.

Thanks for informing us about that. Till now I do not have faced any problem from online wallet but I am worried because of different claims from different people. I will like to know about the desktop wallet. I have heard that the best of them are Electrum and armory. Is that right about these two?

Blockchain.info is having a lot of issues lately and I really recommend anyone using it to stop already , If you don't want to regret later maybe Its the best time to stop using it.
Possible alternatives :  btc.com (If you want to stay with web wallets) , Electrum (desktop) , Multibit HD (desktop) , Paper wallets for long term and Nano Ledger S as a hardware wallet (It has multi coins support too)

what is problem blockchain info
and then you recomended leave from blockchain.info service
and about btc.com service, open private key service or not

I don't have any issues with them , I actually stopped using them since they upgraded to HD and they removed the legacy login with it. If we take in consideration that there are a lot of web wallets and this section became full lately with issues from blockchain.info only , my warning should definitely be taken seriously , It's your choice though.
I don't understand actually that why you are suggestions everyone to use wallet other than blockchain.info .
Since I know that blockchain in official but I myself using myscellium because I don't like views of blockchain .
In my opinion blockchain is a bad option for those who are bitcointalk forum signature campaign advertisers . Because if we are in any campaign we need a particular fixed wallet but the legacy backup of blockchain forced us to use another wallet like myscellium that have non-variable address , according to our need .
they suggest you to use another address in every bitcoin tx for anonymity, but you can keep the same address as long as you want, i have been doing that without any issues

I appreciate your kind advice. However i never face any serious problems with this wallet just their site was down due to dns attacked recent months yeah all we know that blockchain is popullar bitcoin wallet where targeted by the hackers, so that it's better to not storing all of your assets out there i personally keep small amount out there only for spendable purpose so if the site is offline or bad things happen i'm not too worried about that.
Anyway i don't like they new feature also we should verify email before accessing the site though i know it's for safety purpose.

He just warned us because of the those of the upgrade of it to HD and maybe he do really like the legacy login a lot but it was removed when the upgrade happen.

So this case is close, he doesn't have an issue upon using blockchain so do I. But stopping other people using a reputable and legitimate service.

I think its insane, why would I stop if I'm confidently having no problems with them at all?

When there's a cliff up on a road, people put a warning sign to let others know about it. You don't have to see and/or fall down the cliff yourself to stop going that way.

This is just like that. It's just a warning, guys. The point of this thread is to make people aware that blockchain.info is prone to problems and let them decide if they want to keep using it with the risk of getting the same problems that others have been reported or change to another wallet.

I think it's their double spend and occasional non-standard/invalid transaction that's worrying. Slow confirmation or fee aren't that big of a problem. Signed messages and private keys availability and being a web wallet are some big cons for me but people don't seem to care about that sooo...

Don't see a problem with using them.
I use them only for small transaction under $5.
So they are good enough for what I am using them for.
