Thats like saying storing cash (ie: saving) is against cash, who said that you must spend bitcoin. I thought that was the whole point of a decentralised system! there is no one to tell me how to use my bitcoin.

Storing bitcoins is not against Bitcoin. There will always be people who will gamble, trade or buy and sell the coin. This will help it circulate. We cannot blame those who save the coins for a better future. A lot of the users of this forum or maybe the most of them are not filthy rich persons so they may see an opportunity to save and hold the coin until the price skyrocket even more than 5000 USD. I don't blame them as I am one of them.

I think storing is not against the bitcoin although its not pretty good for the economy a lot of people are doing this because if the fact that the bitcoin is gonna rise in its price. Example - China. They will purchase a huge chunk and will make price rise and then suddenly after some time will sell those and market will crash.
Not to be a pessimist, more of a realist.
With today's valuation BTC is worth around $10B, that is not alot and is not enough to jump start the consumer economy of Bitcoin.
There needs to be enough value that people and businesses feel it is necessary to use it.
I am sorry to say that $10B is not very much money on the global scale.

Op just wants to say that storing of bitcoin is against the adoption of bitcoin not really against for itself. But for the eco system of bitcoin.

Wrong then and wrong now. If you are holding bitcoin you are exercising a right of every Bitcoin user which is non e other than the right to hold buy and hoard as much as you please. You are free to store or you are free to expend. That is a fundamental feature of it.

Hi Vika, how does storing of bitcoins is against bitcoins? Where did you learned that? Can you please share to us the link or the article stating what you have mentioned. Because a lot of people is earning a lot of money through storing of bitcoins or in other other term , by holding them so they will be able to sell it in the future or when the time that its price will rise and as far as I am concern, nobody can require anyone to spend their money just because they say so.
Now say, will you appreciate that not attracting new people for the growth of bitcoin ecosystem?
With bitcoins you are the person that can and will choose what to do, can invest, store, lend, or make anything else the thing is nothing related to bitcoin is against it, as we have full control and power over our money. We dont need to ask our money back, to pay a fee to let our coins saved.
That's right. Bitcoin can be seen as a multifunctional tool that can basically offer anything a person might need. It's great that we can choose to use something instead of getting forced to use something we don't want. I wish more people would appreciate Bitcoin the way it is.
