I'm looking to create a sidechain on Stratis as well, maybe a USD pegged stable coin or a gold/silver backed one? Smart contracts can definitely make the process decentralized so no need for banks or third parties involved. 
Still I haven't decided but somewhen in spring or summer I will surely be working on a project.

Stratis is one of the best coin for achieving their goals and what they mentioned in the roadmap and it is going to the winner in the coming bull run and we need to be patient until the market starts recovering. Yes, the dev team promptly giving updates to their holders who has strong faith in this coin.
